didn't know things were that bad, and if I've added to your stress in any way I apologiz I apologize too if I've added any stress with things I've said. Know I understand why you said to "just cope" It's because you do it so very well. God Bless You and Keep You, and get well too.</fon

I read. I "listened". I care. I do wish my brain had the right words to encourage you tthrough another day! You CAN make it Mason! Some nights are more mind wrecking than others... I don't know you well enough yet to know if you're a "believer" or not, I once read something that said that "when God closes one door, He opens another. It's the getting through the door that hurts so much. Hang in there guy, peopl

I cooked for a brief time in a cafe and I learned that families wanted to "make it easy" for mom on Mother's Day hence the outing to the local restaurant. I think that sometimes families use the holiday to visit other family in faraway places and also don't want the hassle of cooking and cleaning up afterwards, which is a kind thing for the home of the "visited"! Granted, a reservation would have been a smart and considerate thing to

We made a few jokes about the racoon's wife scolding him for bringing home the wrong kind of bread and went on about our business. That night I left the bread on a stump and we watched from inside the tent. No sooner had things grow quite than here comes Mr. Racoon to have another bit of bread. He dragged off the loaf while we wat

Camping when I was a child consisted of dad renting a little housekeeping cabin, bringing in a box of food, and we'd go fishing in a rented boat. At the time that was heaven to me, and of course my folks did what they could. The summer of 1993 a former co-worker showed up on my doorstep and that started a summer of real camping. On labor day weekend, the last of our "outings", we ended up in the BWCA~we had rented a canoe, parked my

Hi ya Dharma Initally I signed on to JU so I'd have a blog that family didn't know the addy! A place to let out my good and also darker side. I wanted to blog about my younger years, gripe about family, and just try to figure out things by seeing them in writing. Writing with a pen or pencil hurt my hands, so this was the ticket. NOW, it's changed. I love to read what

InBloom: reading your article was like reading a letter ( email) from my older sister. The words are the same, she too talked about the walls she had put up, being "standoffish" when she hadn't seen someone, she had ties to, for a long time. She told me how I had helped some in this area, and how her golden retriever had helped her learn about unconditional love the most. She told me how I was "fully emotionally engaged" and I haven

Yes, this is sometimes true but has little bearing on the article as presented. It isn't fear that is of primary concern, but extremity of thought and the acting on these extremes in an extreme manner. I think that extremity of thought and acting on it comes from fear, fear of the unknown, fear of anyth

I find this article very insightful and agree with most of your ideas, it makes alot of sense. " just wish the church would spend a little less time concentrating on its income and more concentrating on its outreach." SO TRUE! I so wanted to get to church, and having no car, my community worker took me to the church to see if there was a member of the church near me that would agree to pick me up on Sunday morning. The secre

Hello Just a few thoughts on what I read here. My Grama Lottie used to say that "it takes two to argue" and likewise in a marriage both parties share the "blame" in what didn't work out. Believe it or not. Each of us shares the responsibility in a relationship, whether it works or sinks. Maybe I say something that the other is offended by, and then if told I've offended that said person if I refuse to say "gee, I gotta work on t

oh thank you Mason! What an insightful post. Literally brought tears to my eyes, and it couraged me to continue... Now I too can look at every day in a new light. Yesterday was a "bad" day for me, with my severe disc degenerative disease, and I took a Tylenol with codine. Now today can be a "medicine relief" day, and I'll enjoy reading more of your posts too!

As a child I watched Lucy and Desi. The episode with Harpo Marx? was it? that was a gut buster! and the one where she's pg and Desi gets a letter at the club and is singing, not knowing which lady in the audience is pg, and is delighted when he realizes it's HIS wife!

Mash is my all-time favourite sit-com. That counts doesn't it? It had humour, human frailities, it showed how fear creates monsters out of a human. There was love, hate, all the human emotions possible, and more. Ya. Mash. All kinds of personalities in it.

I think that some people become irrational, even dangerous when what they don't understand creates fear in them. At the heart of the matter for some, if their ideas, beliefs, and thoughts aren't agreeded with, they become angry out of a lack of self-confidence. I've seen prime examples here at JU of the "flock of sheep" mentality. A few brave souls express themselves, honestly, and boy oh boy the flock of sheep, agreeing with each ot

I am really happy and comfortable with the way I look, scars and all. I kind of think of myself in the same way as a favourite book. Sure, it might look a little dog-eared and the cover might be fading or maybe there are creases in the spine from the amount of times its been read. But these things are all part of the book's character and I wouldn't change it for the world. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/JU/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIGN="abs

A very mean ex~husband once said that the doctor would have to start at the bottom, drag everything up, and tie it off at the top of my head! And he wasn't joking...the only thing I "excised" was him......outta my life! Now. What and would I? Yup. How much space do I get? Well I'd have a face-lift, got that turkey waddle thingy going, and have baggy upper eye-lids, sure need alot of dental work and then the boobs...oh my, I'

May 1, 2005 He who forgives ends the quarrel. African Proverb As I am just starting to really "get into JU" and read more and more blogs, I'm realizing what I've been missing. There's some truly good writers out here, and what a great compliment has been paid to Michael. I can't comment on whatever happened, as I "wasn't there". I hope it all works out to everyone's satisfaction.

ROFL.. my older sister, in her midsixties, emails her daughter. I can only imagine what /and/or how she nags her! Because......she used to nag me! She repeatedly questioned me, when I was debating whether or not I'd drag my landlord into court., had I filed court papers, would I sue for money, blablabla! And then she'd tried to ask me in less obvious ways. Oh my. Your situation sounds so like her and what her daughter has
