You'll be surprised to know that this politician lied to you. Politician lying? Never. Don't believe it. Maybe your senator was just really popular. Yeah.

We can't vote in the local elections here, and obviously we can't there, either. I remember that blog. S.N.A.F.U. Blech.

I cook, I clean, I play the piano in the treble clef. Whether it's meatloaf, french cuisine, or the manly art of grilling, I'm there. I slice, I dice, I cube, I chop, I saute!!! I'm the ginsu knife of.....well, I don't know. I'm just a ginsu knife. Got a tin can handy? This does bring up a beautiful future blog though. I've been thinking more and more about leaving the top off of my furnace and putting a grill across it.....Ribeye wi

How long is your band camp... I mean, AIT again? Bigger than a breadbox.......I don't know. Theoretically, if I get the whole thing, my class is supposed to graduate July 5th. First of all, I don't see this happening in the Army I know. They would never, never graduate after a long weekend if they could

When do you ship out? Take the shuttle up to Dallas tommorow night, catch four hours of sleep. (I swear they do that deliberately) Then off to MEPS at 4 in the morning. Weigh in, sign the contract and such, then catch a plane to Virginia out of DFW. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center

Here ya go, a whiny rant. ARRRRRRRRGHHHHH!!!!!! I've worked so hard to keep my blog sitting comfortably at number 11!!!!! (Which thanks to Spinal Tap, holds special meaning for me.........) And now as I go off to "band camp." (Did yours have drill sergeants?) I know.......I know, my points are going to slip away again. Between not having a computer of my own

One thing being in the military teaches you is how to pack tight! Heh heh heh..........oh. Not quite tight enough in this case. I'm going short the sheets, my field jacket and a few t-shirts, but I was able to fit the frickin' clarinet case I forgot to allow for in the carry-on, so that evens out, righ

Another damned packing list. Let's see, two murderers, two commiters of fornication, two pagans condemned to limbo.......... Too much dante? I'm getting ready to go back to AIT again, and after a great deal of waffling, MEPS decided I would not be driving, but would in fact be flying. Therefore I get to pack one duffel bag, and a very small carry-

Good deal. Anybody with an "R" behind their name. That's pretty much the way I went too, but I wasn't entirely thrilled about it. I agree almost completely with the conservative Republican platform, but I've met the occasional Democrat politician I've liked, respected and agreed with. And every

Love the new helmet and the boots, haven't tried the goggles. I especially like not shining boots. Body armor blows, but not so much as an extra orifice in the thoracic cavity I would think. I'd gladly wear it in Iraq, but could we please, please stop making soldiers wear it on gate guard in Korea? What's the point? I'd say in the states too, but at least around here, AKAL has taken over. As to other "new" army gear.

Surprise quiz time!!! You live in a "democratic" country. Technically, so do the north koreans, but we're trying to be literal. I think of it more as a republic myself. So you're living in this "democratic" nation, where you have a vote! You make the difference! Exclamation points are fun!!! We were created as a nation to the cry of "no taxation without rep

The locals should be glad. This is the Dutch, right? At least they don't want to set up pot bars. "So weed is legal there, right? Yeah, it's legal, but it ain't one hundred percent legal. You have to smoke in your home, or in certain designated areas. But that don't matter, right? Because if the cops pull you over, it's illegal to search you. That does it baby, I'm going.............."

There is a blacksmithing and Blues weekend at the San Angelo Chicken farm the first weekend in May. Will you be in Tx then? Damn your eyes. I'm always away when they have the good stuff in San Angelo. Last time, it was going off to Korea a week or so before the big Willie Nelson concert. You're killing

I know this wasn't at all what you wanted me to get out of this article, but how's that going, anyway? Bottom of the cycle again. 21 miles this week and 6 miles as my long run, 23 next with 7, et cetera, up to about 40 and 20. Dropping weight beautifully though and picking up speed slowly. It's really

It's nearly impossible to stop someone determined enough to die to set one off. You can sometimes reduce the damage by forcing them to set it off with poor timing, but not stop them. To begin with, no. You frequently can't detect explosives. Yes, there are very elaborate and expensive setups at airports. Airports in highly controlled environments where large numbers of weapons and explosives are still smuggled past checkpoints. Just ask the ma

We know everything about you. Your phone number, your drivers license, your bank account, credit card number, home address. We know if you're married, how many cars you have, if you're cheating on your wife, hitting your kids, doing drugs. We know that. We know where you work. We know when you're home, and when you're away. Are we some super secret national

Heh heh......correction, this one now goes all the way to eleven. (why don't you just make it louder and just make ten the loudest) Where are the pictures of your progress? Umm, waiting for a special lens. One that will cause my face to not break the scanner/'cause the hard drive to crash in ho

Korean has their own, SCIENTIFICLY DERIVED alphabet. I know they say that all the frickin' time, but really. How scientific can it be? Did King Sejong go around in a lab coat making markings on a clip board? Did he hypothesize the possible results of his language and then do clinical experiments with th

Anyone got any advice how to trim up my belly in 6 days? In six days, no. In six weeks, definitely. To begin with, 189 is not at all unreasonable for a 6'2" male in decent shape. Especially if you're lifting, which will add muscle weight. For that matter, at that height, it's not absolutely te
