I remember a time (not my own unfortunately) where whole books would be allegorical and require a high level of abstract thinking to make heads or tails of it When I was in junior high (within the last two decades), we had to read Animal Farm by George Orwell. My best friend swore for years (may

I wish the media would report on things like this. The people need to see the personal side of things and not just families bashing the war in general. And other wives like myself need to be reminded that there are other Army wives who care and hurt when their man goes away instead of calling up the many boyfriends that start trailing through during the deployment. (This applies in the reverse when the wife is in the army, too)
Wandering around town or in the woods, preferably at night, looking at the stars and enjoying the breezes. Listening to music, the style depending on my mood. Singing or playing my flute, often in conjunction with the first. Writing, definately. Prayer.
This war has been raging for as long as there has been organized religion. I agree. The Arabs have been killing innocent Christians all for Allah and Muhammed!!!! <
Although these are contagious, my 3 cats seem to suffer from different ailments. My oldest definately suffers from Smurgling , and our male cat from Snudging . Our youngest, though, my husband describes as the perpetually startled cat. Upon reading your article, I have realized that she is the only creature in our home that can see the Greeblingz. I believe the most prominent evidence of this happened about two years ago. A f
abreast, penal, aural skills... My mind's not fully awake yet, I'm sure there will be more later. This reminds me of one of my favorite games from college called Dirty Minds . They give you clues that sound as dirty as can be and you have to try to come up with the clean answer. Sometimes it was more fun to lose than to win.
My family and I all enjoyed a variation of this power when I was growing up and still do to a smaller degree. If we decided that we all liked a particular television show, and said something about it, its cancellation would be announced within a matter of a few weeks. Once we figured out what was happening, we tried not to say anything, but all we had to do was think it.
Thank you all for reading and commenting. It's also nice to see that this man is wise enough to not forget the people that helped him get where he is. Gideon: this is precisely why those two words hit me so hard. From things that I had heard and incidents I remembered, I had already judged in
I remember reading a review for that that called it "undiluted emotional pornography".... that always stuck with me. Must have been a man who wrote the review. I personally loved that movie as well, and normally don't go for Hugh Grant movies unless I want a "no-brainer" to watch. Romance do
I've read several articles and enjoyed them, as well as your comments elsewhere. Particularly enjoyed the writing about band camp. Ahhh.....memories. I was in marching bane for 10 years. Fall just doesn't feel the same without it. Have fun with it! And keep on writing!

An old friend from high school, huh? Glad I'm not the only one. Just when I think I've forgotten about him and stop wondering what if, another dream, another email. I think everyone has a what if. Not always a person, but an idea, a turning point where you could have chosen differently and nothing would have been the same. Much more susceptible to thoughts like this when lonely. Good luck with the journal.
It's been awhile since I listened to much on the radio, but music is my life. I have very few memories that are not associated with particular songs. One of my favorites, though, would have to be *our* song from when my husband and I started dating. They're coming to take me away, Ha, Haaa... Napolean XIV (Off Dr. Demento)
At least they don't leave skid marks on the bed...anymore.
It all depends on who is doing the looking. I'm sure you've heard many a cat-call aimed your way. (Ouch, I know that was bad, but...)

I haven't seen anything from you yet that proves mediocre, average or less. You are gifted and special, and I'm sure your hubby will remind you of that when he gets home. Besides, anyone who can appreciate my husband's sense of humor and boost his ego is wonderful to me. Especially if they're already married.
I understand the freakish feeling entirely--especially when certain others do not comprehend the weirdness factor of my dreams. They are almost entirely comprised of normal people, places, and situations, just in VERY strange combinations/sequences. A lot of times it's people that I hadn't seen or heard from in ages that would pop into a dream and then I'd get an email or phonecall. I rarely ever see faces in my dreams, but I almost alw
Romance does happen for some. My first (and only) was my husband. We did not wait until after the wedding as planned, but neither of us had been with anyone else. In fact, he was the first guy I kissed too. It was very special because we were both virgins, even though the setting was NOT! In defense of guys, there are some good ones out there--my brother was a 21yr old virgin before he married this spring, and proud of it <br
Love the pics--all of them. Actually, this has inspired an article. When SPC finally got that pic linked he pulled me in here to check it out. I asked why I had to look and he said... It's no fun without an audience!
Ash, definately Ash--without the hair...
Welcome! I am new myself. Enjoyed your poem.
I love it!!! I saw a similar sentiment on a sign next door to my job a few months ago when Al-Sadr started causing problems. This was at an exotic pet store where they regularly advertise the opportunity to feed to rat to one of their large snakes. Here goes... $5 Feed me a radical Shi'ite cleric Al-Sadr AKA That Dirty Rat I had to take pictures!
Have you thought about a dream journal? I always intend to get around to it but haven't yet. it's hard to make something or understand your dreams if you don't remember them. Myself, I dream about things before they happen sometimes, but don't remember the dreams until the incident has actually happened. Or if I remember, it certainly doesn't make sense. When 9/11 happened, I finally understood the dream I'd had over and over for the few weeks bef
Very, very nice! For some reason my writing has always drifted that direction whenever my husband has been away (training, TDY).
