If you were in Indiana I would know of a million resources available to you as well as a cheap one bedroom apartment for $100 a week with all utilities included. It's the place I just moved out of and the owner loves to help people in rough jams. The only thing I can suggest is keep calling churches and stuff like that, which I'm sure you've probably already done. Otherwise... my prayers and good wishes and such are with you all...

Great post! I'm getting ready to start working towards an English and Theatre Arts degree so that I can become a teacher so anytime someone can give me insight into the process I become all giddy and excited. I always understood the math stuff, but it was just so boring that I didn't care and didn't try as hard as I could, which could be all related to why I have to take Beginning Algebra when I go back to school.. but then again that could also be rel

I know how you feel, but with the added bonus of not knowing if I will even be able to conceive, which scares me most of all at this point. But, I will be thinking of you and hope it works out for you. Meanwhile, have fun trying and wear out the mattress

Thanks for sharing a perspective on 9/11 from the heartland. It's all too easy to get focused on your own perspective and forget how other people saw the events unfold.. or it is at least for me.

Thank you for sharing this information with us. I had almost forgotten about this guy. I'm completely sickened right now and I cannot believe people would actually do something like that and still have the balls to call themselves American.

My best friend gets all of her clothes (and they are similar to what you are talking about. She wears guys clothes mostly) from either Ebay or hottopic.com The only real fashion advice I would give you is to get away from that hideous orange color Also, would suggest getting away from T-shirts too. I think you could look really good in some button down casual shirts, or the poet/pir

My future father-in-law is currently in a stress care facility after having a nervous breakdown. His second wife (of something like 6 or 7 years) has left him, more or less for another man. FIL (short for father in law) isn't an angel by any stretch. His first marriage dissolved because his wife caught him cheating on her on three seperate occasions.. and those are ju

crap... I forgot New Jersey, but then that would have put me at 14 states... I'm so confused now. But I know NJ was one of the first states.. hmm.. so New Hampshire must not have been, but that doesn't make sense, unless it was Georgia, but that doesn't make sense either... I'm so lost. Sorry for double posting there

Unless I misunderstood my Government class, one vote from a poor farmer in Nebraska would carry as much weight as it would from a rich investment banker in NYC if we switched to the popular vote. Moving away from the electoral college system would force candidates to look at the country as a much larger piece of the puzzle. I live in a non-battleground state and I think Kerry has been here once and I don't think Bush has been here at all. When a handfu

You might want to seek out the St. Vincent Depaul Society. They are a Catholic charity that's very concerned with the growing problems of homelessness and work to help keep people in their residences. There is also the option (don't know if you sought it out or if it's possible) that you could talk to your landlord about maybe doing some odd jobs to help them out and pay off some of your back rent. It might be worth a shot. Thank you for sharing a

I misspoke when I said that it's a miscarriage of politics when the man who failed to carry the electorate won the election. The common accepted defination for this use would term the electoral college as the electorate, and I, being idealistic, term the electorate as being the people who cast their ballots. Your commen

Frankly the idea of an electoral college split is a frightening concept and I hope to God that we don't have to go through another similar period of doubt like we did with the last election. It's gets so confusing and it's horrible when the election is mired down in scandal. It sort of serves to make the president seem not quite as legitimate as he could be. It's a gross miscarriage of politcal power when the man that sits in the White House is not the

!! That's hilarious! Maybe there could be a "Bad or Infrequent Sex credit" offered by the IRS. Not so much that it's bad or infrequent... just frequently it's more hassle than it's worth lol.. I definately wouldn't say no to a refund. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF3

I know exactly where you are coming from there. We are just starting to crawl out of the situation ourselves, but with a few differences. We didn't qualify for welfare, so we've been kind of on our own as far as that goes. There are only a few things that I can suggest. Call churches. A lot of them either help people out or can refer you to people who do provide assistance to people in situations like yours. Recycling cans (which you are already doing

No one ever actually told me there wasn't a Santa Claus... I just kind of figured it out when I saw the Santa presents in the attic one year, but I didn't ruin it for my way younger sister. The magic of Santa is that it's something we can all get behind. It's a joyous spirit that encourages a giving nature and kindness. As far as the tooth fairy, my parents told me that each child was assigned a tooth fairy at birth and when you lost all of yo

As for birth control, I've wondered: Is it absolutely necessary for birth control (I'm speaking specifically about the pill/patches, etc) to be controlled by Doctors? As in prescriptions? Wouldn't access at any drug store by identification (ID to prove age) increase availability and thereby use? Because

And thank you for not switching around that last one. Not a problem. The first way was funny. I cannot say whether it would be funny flipped around. I'll leave that as a judgement call best left up to the individual flippers with no recriminations from me. I don't want to offend anyone over a joke.</fon

Needless to say that I took it back to the body shop the next day and had them make it stronger. Why did I suddenly get a flash of the Six Million Dollar Man intro? "We made him stronger..." The Six Million Dollar Possum Squisher? I'm just going to chalk the guilt up to the whole Witch thing.
