Fuzzy/Ymark - Wouldn't it just be easier to click 'Return to Message Board'...

It was a good year...
It doesn't extend the total amount of daylight in a given day but it does extend or 'save' light from early in the morning when we typical folk are sleeping and adds it to the end of the day when the same folk are still awake.
For the tray, using DestopX is very lite! A blank theme with only a tray runs about 3MB for me as opposed to the same thing with Objectbar being about 18MB. Of course the MS taskbar is a good choice too, as with everything it is totally theme dependent. The heavier the theme the more resources it will consume. Sysmetrix is awesome, no question about it. Like anything though you have to do some tweaking to make it right 'for you'. So play around with it, you'll never be able to live with
Multiple docks used to be possible I think on v.70 on back. But it seems that 'bug' was fixed in v.75. Systray - you can use another app for a tray, I use DesktopX, but you can have the taskbar on side and put the dock on another side and uncheck that hide the taskbar button. Kosati got you on the rest.... Good luck!
it must be the theme prout... Try one of these new ones that BoXXi did in December: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?searchtext=BoXXi&sort=updatedate&order=Descending&library=3 Any one of the top ones that match your screen resolution, if indicated, should give you a good comparision. BoXXi is one of the best with DX and a lot has changed since that Pixtudio theme came out. If it is still happening with one of those then it could be a problem. Let us know.
It appears it came from Dell: https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&NewsID=1214
The new version of DX v2.0(alpha) is extremely lite on resources. So I would assume it is the theme, which one in particular? And if you are using 98 or ME memory can be a problem.
Ummm, when did we start attacking people for asking questions here, or did I miss something Jafo. The post did not mention anything about pirating WB or anyting of the sort, and I don't think we should start assuming the worst of people without some sort evidence to the contrary. The sentence "Everything else is pretty much mine though" is not a complete indicator of theft, and actually I'm not sure what it means... Hey Led, does this slow down only occur when you open Kazaa or is it an
No idea, but AOL like to do things in their own way. My suggestion is to take that disk out quickly and hope no unrepairable damage was done!
Hey Monty, you out at the Vet waiting for playoff tickets. The line is already forming!
But again, that is the crazy thing about the NFL, anything can happen.
It won't happen Mike.... EAGLES!!!!!!
I just hit the Windows key on the keyboard, bottom left between Ctrl & Alt. Start Menu pops right up!
Thanks Elvee, that is an incredible piece of work, very moving. Made me remember too...
Hey Jafo.... People who work on docks here are called 'Longshoremen', so how about 'Longdocker'...
Well rkumono, you are sort of right! Here's the thing it does work as you say "some" of the time, but not always. Which makes this all the more a mystery. I do know that switching between Classic and Luna always reduces the height to one. But "sometimes" between WB skins it stays at two or higher. Hmmm. There could be a number of reasons for this, I will look into it in more depth over the next week and let you know what I find out. This could be very interesting!
I respect your opinion SpeedTek. If making your system as fast as possible every second of the day makes you happy go for it. I really like WindowBlinds and almost all of the Stardock software. It's good stuff and it keeps getting better. That includes faster and more comprehensive. I considered running the Cosbi program to see what it says, but decided against it. Irregardless of whether it actually works or not, I have used WB daily for over two years now and I'm pretty sure I have a
Joe, It's been that way since that feature was added. Some WB skins import flawlessly and look great, other's don't.
The problem is not so much in the rebooting as it is switching between Luna and Classic. Windowblinds uses Classic and skins over top. I could try to reproduce what you are seeing if you let me know which WB skin you are using. I know it seems as if the Windows boot is the culprit, but when you look into the reasons behind it, it is because switching between Luna & Classic. One decent work around I use is the "large" quicklaunch icons.
As a side note I did try and dig up something on this Cosbi thing. If it is the same program from Van's Hardware it seems it is no longer available for questionable reasons.... Do a Google search if you need more info! If not let us know where it is hosted and I would be happy to give it a try.
SpeedTek, To reply quite frankly, you are wrong, for the most part. This has been debated many times and it has been shown over and over again that WB is quite fast if not faster than Luna or its variations with StyleXP. Because WB is so much more robust in it's features it can be a hog, when specific skins are used. I hate to pick on a single artist, but I like his stuff so much I hope he won't mind! These are some heavy skins you will most likely see a performannce hit on: ht
I guess I'm low-tech on this one, I just use the Print Screen button and MS Photo Editor.
Question: Are you trying to download it with Netscape or Mozilla? If yes use Internet Explorer instead, I have heard of people using Mozilla having trouble, I "think" because it is a .msi file. Here is the downlaod link: http://sysmetrix.skwire.net/sysmetrix/sysmetrix.msi
Oh yeah, it's the middle of the day in Australia, Jafo is probably off earning a living or something....
