Who's excited? I'm excited. I love the idea of the Metro UI to remove distractions and make computers more efficient (suspended apps will be taken off the CPU scheduler and most likely the video resources will only be in virtual mem). It was a little awkward on the Dev Preview but that isn't what the CP will look like anyway. Storage spaces is probably my favorite feature they've talked about so far. I'm not sure I want to ditch my Win7 in

I can only say I don't care if its Steamworks, Origin, Impulse::Reactor, GfWL, homebrew or whatever...I want all my games to be service-enabled. The old world of hunting for patches, buying DLC from seperate services, needing to have CDs every time you wanted to play something, and things usually not even working right at launch I am happier living without. Although my internet improved massively recently, I don't do too much MP yet so I'm not as concerned about th
Ugh, I can't believe people even act like that. I'm not sure I'd call it 'gamer entitlement'... More asshat entitlement. This is why anonymity on the internet will eventually go away. So these retards can be blacklisted.
I probably will. The only thing I disliked about the console version was aiming and all that...so I traded it in cause it was frustrating. Hopefully they've improved that. The atmosphere was great and the story was good...and very strange.
I don't get your logic.. there are plenty of games released that don't use steamworks. If your opposed to steamworks why would you purchase those games that choose to? If you don't have a problem with steamworks fine. But if you don't like it.. rationalizing your purchases of steamworks titles only supports the practice of publishers using it.
I love Steamworks. I don't mind Valve getting
http://penny-arcade.com/2012/01/27/amalur I won't give you the whole article of course, but here's a few choice quotes The combat in Skyrim is miserable. If games like Bayonetta and God of War are on one end of a spectrum, games like Skyrim are so far on the other end that they have fallen off the spectrum and actually can not even see the spectrum from where they are. It seems like if you want

Memristor tech will probably be replacing it in 2013/2014. Anyway, congrats. I have two now. I love them. I will never buy another HD.</p
If people are opposed to supporting steam and/or valve why would they buy a steamworks game? Yes, valve won't see the money from your purchase... but the publisher who made the game is indirectly supporting valve by requiring you to use their service. Do they simply lack the courage of their convictions? Sure as I said in the above post.. if you offer a steamworks game cheaper than steam you might get some sales fro
Shh logic might confuse the suits. Step 1 Get into digital distribution. Step 2 Sell steam works games Step 3 Since you just can't figure out why your users are migrating to steam. Sell your digital distribution unit for double what its worth to another company. Step 4 Profit How can you argue with that ironclad business plan?
Maybe some users would rather Impulse get
I like it more than Skyrim myself. Skyrim is expansive and has good RPG mechanics, but the theme and most of the characters can go die for all I care. And the combat is boring. So yeah, I'm most likely going to have a lot of fun with Amalur. We'll see how much I end up liking it, but I did like the demo.
I've seen this posted a couple times but I got to wonder if it's ISP throttling or something because Steam always maxes out my connection speed no matter what I have at the time. Currently have 18 mb and Steam downloads usually max out higher at 20 mb steady. I have Uverse.
I'm on 3G. Of course it is. Which doesn't mute the point that Impulse downloads considerably faster.
No kidding, and who do we have to thank for the closure of Pandemic Studios? EA, who has done the same thing to every decent studio they have bought out, from Westwood Studios to Maxis. Battlefront III will be great if LucasArts pays attention to great mods like Battlefront Extreme, which is how I thought Battlefront II should have been from the beginning.
You don't think maybe Pandemic and Westwood did themselves in? &nb
Considering the millions they spent on twenty or so other Star Wars games I think the point is a bit moot.
I did uninstall Impulse, but I still have more than a few titles there so I reinstalled it. And to be honest, except for Sims 3 expansions it works a lot nicer than other digital clients...reinstalling your OS or verifying game files is easier with Steam, but it downloads slow. If it had community features I'd probably prefer it over Steam, cause this Witcher 2 downloading business with Steam that I still haven't been able to resolve pisses me off. If it wasn't
Considering that these games are in constant development with new stuff being added, it's really not that expensive. The fee works out to a new game every 3 months, and I don't tend to get 3 months out of a new game whereas something like TOR will keep me busy for that time pretty easily. Sometimes stuff is worth paying for. ... and TV is still free. You can still buy a set and hook up an antenna

LAA is still easily done. You just need to run a tool instead of the game directly. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013
I don't really get whats so bad about it. It's slightly imperfect but it was easy to learn and doesn't hamper me in any way. It's quick, it does the job, I leave it and get back to the game. I wouldn't have even bought it if it didn't have a DX11 renderer coming, I sure as hell hope it fixes the random glitching I get in distant mountains and such.
I am also in the "hated morrowind, love skyrim" camp. They've done away with all the silly minmax stuff, there's a lot less stats to keep track of. 80% of the story is great and 20% mediocre, instead of the other way around in morrowind (yeah, I went there).
I never played it but Oblivion bugged me in so many ways o.o Skyrim does not. Just my fourteen cents. I played it
Why would you want an XP rig later? Or at all, for that matter? As for your list, all those listed show up in my account. And Impulse. All I'm missing in the My Account page is Enhanced File Dialog, which I loved, but no longer works. So no biggie. I don't ever expect to be going back to XP. I do run it on a dual boot for testing purposes only, and for my business equipment. OK,
I'm gonna be preordering it (especially if they offer upgrade copies for $50 again!) Even the alpha rocked performance wise and Protogon sounds like MS giving me exactly what I wanted.

It also has DirectX 11.1, and WDDM 1.2. Can't tell you what's new there yet. The Protogon file system is expected to be available, as it's shown up in bits and pieces bu
