Or you download it from torrents. You already payed for it so no moral problem here. As it is DRM free you can also patch the torrented version without any problems.
And let the terrorists win? No way! ;)

Considering they already more than tripled the dedicated staff on Impulse I don't think they've screwed the pooch yet. They just need a major upgrade to get people interested again.

If a lot of people preordered something, there's an assumption of a lot of people buying it down the road as well, therefore they order more copies than they need. If noone preordered it, noone's going to want it later on either. Considering how long the PC stuff ha

A friend of mine saw in Steam that I was playing it (from another game), so I fired him an invite and we went off and played with a couple more random people joining in. When some other DD service is coming close to that level of "make it easy to play with my friends", then we'll talk. Right now Steam does a lot more then just act as a fancy download manager.
So alternative OS users are too dumb to know how to turn secure boot off eh? Seriously don't see the problem there. As far as HP, standard PRspeak. I doubt they've really given the issue much consideration...it's not worth worrying about when there isn't even a beta to build and test machines against. You're right, I do think it'll work itself out. Either way there's really nothing to be done but wait and see. IMO people ar

If MS was causing this to intentionally lock out competition they'd have the Justice Department right on their ass. They aren't that stupid. Last time that happened they lost a lot of customer respect and had to stop development on a lot of things (like IE) that've had a long and venomous tail. Also, I like Metro. The version in the Dev Preview does suck a bit, but it's already been modded for the better. Anyway, I have stuff to do so it'l

Hey it matters to me. Even my subpar connection often feels shortchanged on Steam. Origin is certainly better with it, and I haven't bought anything off Impulse lately. I hope they work through their new account issues, because I do like the Impulse service in general. Just been buying retail a lot more often.
Yeah the combination of Steam's handling of files and CDPR using and then quickly removing DRM made things kind of a mess. This conversion is supposedly the last time anyone'll have to download huge files with Witcher 2. Supposedly. I don't actually believe it.

I mean no offense of course, but I don't want a self-serving purchasing account for smaller devs/distributors. (Which is why renewing my Object Desktop subscription isn't even a possibility now, but I wasn't sure how much I wanted it anyway.)

This anti MS idiocy makes me laugh. All MS is doing is securing the computer. They're not demanding OEMs lock out other OSes, and never have. All they are demanding is that an existing UEFI option (that they did not create) be enabled and usable by their OS, to lock out rootkits getting between the OS and its loading process. They're not forcing anyone to lock out Linux or any other OS. Rootkits are the only major security problem left in computers, b

Steams handling of the game has been a joke. I launched the game a few days ago only to find out they've converted it to a new system and I had to redownload 8 gigs or something. And the patch process didn't work, so now I have to download another 15 gigs. ****, if any of my other games were handled this badly I'd need a new hobby. (Obviously I wouldn't be this mad if it'd used the normal auto-update system. I

If you guys can describe the game beyond what the sales pitch is I'd appreciate it. I'm curious, but not enough to buy it without some more info. Mind you, I'm hearing I don't want to be getting it right now anyway but I appreciate products that ditch XP support.

I already unlocked 8 of these nonexistant Steam achievements. How does that work? Are we in a different universe here? I'm confused. I think the game is fantastic, aside from the driver issues. The only spot I've found particularly ugly while using the Rage AMD drivers is in Dead City...most of the game looks great IMO. I wish more games looked this bad!
