Might as well leave that partition for the inevitable beta, even if I'll need to format it. There are things I liked and things I didn't, but I considere
Patch 2.0. Whee. I would still rather go off myself than finish this Kayran quest.
Just wanted to pop in and mention...my first Revo the firmware wouldn't update so I RMAed it, the second one will die on me after extended writes...so I'm RMAing it again... Don't think I'll be buying OCZ again, this is lame.
USB has OHCI, EHCI, UHCI, and now xHCI, as Jafo mentioned that has nothing to do with AHCI. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UHCI
The mainstream definition of RPG has shifted, and that's what he's railing about. I have friends who've mentioned this. http://www.shadowdawngenesis.com/devblog/?p=603 for one example. Ironically, with regards to Rainbow Six being mentioned - Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is exactly like that. R6: Vegas 2 is a little more casual but you still can't take much in the way of hits. &nb
I still like Elemental, despite the weak launch I played quite a few hours. (Over 20 iirc) Having seen people whine about it since launch despite it continually improving, I'm not surprised they get told to piss off occasionally. If you're not going to be happy with something no matter how much work is put into it, there's not much point hanging around to make everyone else miserable.
I don't mind if they don't make a 64 bit client considering I'd honestly rather they spent their resources elsewhere, but it'd be nice if it at least used the LargeAddressAware compiler flag so 64 bit OSes could use more mem for the app. Whatever happens, I'm getting it free so I'm not complaining. But hopefully after Fallen Enchantress they'll be looking into futher improvements to everything.
Have you tried hitting the middle mouse button to aim? I had a hard time hitting anything with my tranq rifle without doing that. Also important to note that if you fire from behind cover without popping your head out first with one of the arrow keys, then you will fire blindly and it's unlikely you will hit anything.
I know all that, I'm an avid game player :) My friend didn't even know how to hols
I can adjust my DPI on the fly. It's not that I can't aim, its just that the accuracy spread is horrible at first. I can understand why they went with this system it just feels really wack.
It seems bizarre that '1.1 changelog' is still stickied. ... That is all. Carry on.
Shady things that most people don't care about anyway. Woo. I like the game but damn. Admittedly I have barely upgraded my armor/aim tech at all but the shooting just feels wonky, from the moment I loaded the game up.
Hyper 212 Plus is awesome, but isn't there a 612 thats newer now?
Bit more detail...I could do more links but I'm sure you can hunt em down too. http://www.dailytech.com/Cracking+the+Bitcoin+Digging+Into+a+131M+USD+Virtual+Currency/article21878.htm http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2011/06/bitcoin-price-plumm
I like buying direct when it's a major publisher with a worthwhile client, as in EA Downloader/Origin. Otherwise I'm just gonna stick with Steam and Impulse.
It's also worth mentioning that the GOG version was the only DRM-free one because CDPRojekt chose to impose SecuROM on every seller *except* the one they own, which is rather sleazy. The patch just removed the DRM from all the other versions, so now I'd say you should buy it from your preferred store.
The lack of preload on other services was sleazy too. I barely had time to play the game before, hey, look, redownload t
As for Steam... the way they removed SecuROM involved changing a 9GB .pak file, and Steam just wants to redownload the whole thing. None of the other DD providers had a patch that size.
I gather Steam redownloads ANY changed files, no matter what game. I did not know this until this happened, but it's still a huge fuckup on CD Projekts part. (And Valves, you know, not saying it's one party responsible.)
My opinion of DA2 is the first area is boring, the rest was great. My opinion of Witcher 2 is the first area was great, and after that I got bored. And they've screwed the launch so bad on Steam with no preload and having to redownload a 9gb file post patch that I don't even know when I'll be able to play it again. Possibly not til after the LAN party we're having on June 4th...tons of stuff to DL right now.
Unfortunately it seems to be among those "We Don't Want To Talk About It Because People Will Bitch" things, unless I'm misreading something. Ah well, life goes on I suppose.
It was also later said that they'd worked out a deal with Intel to acquire it for free, I believe.

Out of curiousity, is there still a 64 bit build planned? (I'm not asking when or whatever, just been a while since we heard anything about that.)
No, you'd contact tech support for that. This is a forum where users or moderators can help other users, but you're not guaranteed to get a response here.
