I'm not sure what this is about. I'm going to get in touch with you here soon, k? I'm sorry I missed you tonight (I got your message tho) -- give me an IM tomorrow I'll be around. michael

Unfortunately, not all those who are white and hate blacks will be able to take comfort at this article. Some people might actually realize that the hate they have denied is real. I hope so. Thank you for this article, Brandie, so that people who fling about racial epithets with abandon might see themselves in what you have written. But I doubt they will. Cheers, love.

'allo, Gid, how's things? We've taken a lot of evacuees here in small-town Arkansas, and I have to say, we're getting along fabulously. I don't know if I agree with "the media" (it's a rather LARGE collective noun, yes?) hurting them, but I will say that none of them have acted like desperate criminals in my time working the shelters. I think there are plenty of media outlets that have portrayed the evacuees as something other than d

MLK >> worried about the fate of his people... GWB >> worried about the fate of Trent Lott's beach house... 'Nuff said... (check out my katrina timeline when you get a chance, Diane, k?)

Well, Nagin *was* a republican up until a week before he filed to run for mayor and that's the truth, not a joke. Thanks for posting this, ric, there's another blog http://polimom.blogspot.com from a lady who was in constant contact with family in Algiers Point and pretty informative too... Ted, I thought when a state of emergency was declared, the f

Personally, I consider it a "dick" sighting everytime I see Bush, Cheney, Chertoff, Brown, Rumsfeld, Rice (who was buying thousand dollar pumps and catching a show while people were dying after the storm) -- or any of the other GOP jackass swine who want to blame poor people for their failures. Weren't we promised that the Department of Homeland Security would be prepared for disasters? <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bg

Steve Gilliard over at Newsblog has a good one, too. "FEMA is coming. Whores come faster with old men than FEMA."

Yup, time to circle the doggie wagons and start crucifying that darkie mayor. Brad's already leading the charge and his Island Puppy is here to play wonder dog. Even if Bush did all that bullshit on the 27, there's still federalised troops that have halted evacuations at the Superdome as of 11am Saturday. 6 days man. And jack shit until yesterday. I hope that wall feels real good because I'm hoping there's gonna be some fucking b

Now, now, we've got to give Dear Leader and the FEMArelles the benefit of the doubt. They might have been under the impression that 25,000 people were in the Superdome to watch a Saints game... After all, he was busy playing his gee-tar (which is hard to do with your head up your ass).

yeah, i had just closed that LA Times article and clicked on your bog link on my sidebar...of course, as bill o' reilly has called for the terrorist beheading of the Times Editoral page editor, I doubt you'll make much of a headway through the white masses churning for dark-skinned blood... maybe they could round them all up and take them to Jackson Square where the old slave market was... the white man's fear is same as it ever w

Interesting, and quite poignant, observation. it's piffle, not poingant But certainly, everyone in the Big Easy was having a big ol' party down on Bourbon. I mean, I remember reading just last year in the Times-Picayune that an estimated 100,000 people didn't have transportation and wouldn't h

Carmina Burana the opera? I bet you could find a copy of that available for download in the public domain for free. Maybe you're talking about something else, though. I've never used BuyMusic.com, and it doesn't sound like I ever will if it's that crazy complicated.

funding for SE Louisiana Flood Control (established by Congress in 1995) was cut by nearly 50% in the past few years...Corps of Engineers folks who might have been in LA were instead in Iraqistan. That's what the cartoon means. Flood Control = Nonessential to US security; Regime Change 7,000 miles away = Matter of vital interest. <TD class="mb-Body-

Well, I don't know how I'd react all wet and clammy and hot and tired and then a camera in my face. I might just say the first thing that came into my head. And that might be, "Gee, I wish I had some ice for this water." It comes off as being ungrateful, and I see your point -- I just try to give the benefit of the doubt to people in that sort of situation. We had a major tornado that leveled most of my hometown a few years ago, and I remem
