The debug file gives this info on the error: Debug Message: PostGameToServer: Post failed. RPC error code: Heh, I should have been more specific: We need the lines that follow the RPC error code line. Specifically, contents of the Data tag. <IMG src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gi

So , what about the "Not in an Empire". I'm getting the same thing.... I created my character, made an empire and joined it... I can see everything ok on the website, it's just in the game i see my stats except it says "Not in an Empire" and on Metaverse I am. This will be fixed in the next update. This is strictly an in-game displa
Hm, is it possible to 'de-flag' my submitted game that was falsly flagged as 'cheat', or do I just have to live with it? Unfortunately, there's no easy way to determine whether a particular game was flagged erroneously or not. So you'll just have to live with it. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Sad.gif" border
There is an absolute limit on the population a planet can support: 100 billion. However, before that point you're likely to hit the limit that's based on planet quality, which is determined by this formula: 20 * ( ( PQ + 1 ) ^ 3 ). In English: take the planet quality, add one to it, and raise the resulting sum to the the power of 3. Multiply that result by 20. That gives you the population limit for that planet, in millions. Note that it's possible to overshoot t
2. When I view my empire statistics, it says: "Empire : Not in an Empire". But I created both an empire and a character, so what should I do to get that character into that empire? I tried inviting my character into the empire, but I saw nothing happen. If your empire doesn't have a website URL associated with it, the game thinks the empire da
Definitely a problem with the difficulty levels displayed in the Meta submissions. Unfortunately, there isn't necessarily a 1:1 correspondence between the difficulty level you select when starting a game and the difficulty level reported to the Metaverse. The difficulty level reported to the Metaverse is the average intelligence of your
Is there a write up on the scoreing for the game. I notice that some people who play a "beginners" difficulty on large somethimes get better scores that some one play cripling on large, which doesn't make sense at first glance. The score is calculated by taking a number of factors into account. Game difficulty, galaxy size, population, r
I keep getting this error when trying to post my Metaverse score after a game: (16) The results of this game could not be posted to the Metaverse. Would you like to try posting your results again? Next time you see this problem, send the debug.err file that the game creates in the game's installation directory (typically, that woul
-Will you be able to submit a game to the Metaverse that was saved / finished at a later time ? -Will CTD's "corrupt" a Metaverse game so that it will be considered "cheated". One of my games was submitted as a cheat. A CTD occured in that game though. -Are you allowed to use Ctrl-N at the start of a Metaverse map or will this be considered a cheat?<
Racial research bonuses work, but they aren't as effective as advertised. Basically, they're cut in half before being applied. Therefore, a 50% research bonus really only raises your research by 25%. In the early game, planets only generate out a few tech points per turn anyway, so even a (nominal) 50% research bonus will only show up as one extra tech point on a planet that's putting out 4 tech points without the bonus; lower bonuses won't even register due to round off.&
Saved metaverse games should prompt you to post your game at its conclusion, just as if you'd played it straight through without loading. If that's not happening for you, then there could be something wrong with the saved game. You know the drill: If you haven't already done so, please send a saved metaverse game (zipped, preferrably) that wouldn't let you submit to [email protected] along with a brief description of the problem. Hopefully we can track this problem d
Enjoy it while it lasts.
I think I understand your point. As you point out, the alternative is to give each planet its own economic slider, which would be a micromanagement nightmare (for many players anyway--I don't doubt that there are more than a few players who would relish this level of control). Yes, there is wasted potential production and I'm fairly certain that was intentional, but it is one of those situations where there isn't a clear-cut best solution.
If you can send one of your long load time save games (zipped preferrably) to [email protected] (along with a brief description of your problem), we should be able to track down the problem and fix it. Thanks.
I believe the language is Scoobian, the language of Scooby-doo.
Super projects, trade goods and galactic achievements are all indestructible. However, the benefits of super projects (such as the Manufacturing Capital) are transferred to the new owner. Trade goods and galactic achievements, however, don't transfer their benefits to the new owner; I believe this is an oversight in the design.
Unfortunately, you have to just learn what is a good deal and what isn't.
If you can send one of those saved games (zipped, preferably) along with a brief description of the problem (i.e., "This game takes FOREVER to load.") to [email protected], someone can look into the problem and hopefully fix it.
You get tourism income for each sector you control. Therefore, a starbase in the middle of nowhere gives you control of that sector.
Okay, I've looked at the code and carefully studied the population changes for each race each turn. The result: they're exactly what they should be. To convince yourself this is the case, start a new game with cheats enabled. Before pressing the turn button, press Ctrl+U while in the main game screen (it may take several seconds before the game starts responding again). This cheat unhides the whole galaxy and makes it so that you can monitor every race's stats in the
Hmm, I'll look into this and see what's going on.
The combat simulator in the Metaverse was taken down because it needs some more work.
Population growth is currently capped at 200 million per turn, which, as you've found, is pretty easy to achieve with decent morale. In fact, you don't even need much in the way of population growth bonuses to reach the cap.
Does anyone have a saved game that has a planet that allows you to build ships without a starport? If so, please send it to [email protected] along with a brief description of the problem (i.e., something like "Planet XXXX doesn't have a starport and yet I can build ships on it."). Thanks.
If anyone has a saved game that the Metaverse flagged as having cheated, please send it to [email protected] along with a short description of the problem (i.e., something like "The attached game was flagged as having cheated but I didn't cheat."). Thanks.
