Really? That's surprising. I just bought this game online because of the solid reputation Stardock has of supporting its customer base. So I am a little surprised to hear this, and lack of an updated manual.

The keyboard shortcuts, according to the manual (version 1.0), says that pressing enter or ESC closes the current screen. However, regardless of what screen I have open ESC opens the configuration panel, and enter ends my turn. Is there an updated manual? Why is this not working?

Good work, Phoenix. Your methods are far more concise than mine. Now, I was trying to create a political party that gives the player an equal advantage when played against the bright AI setting. Alas, even with exhorbitant penalties, the AI still takes the newly created party. Any ideas on how to either a) negate these AI bonuses, or b) give the player the same bonuses the AI has?

Yes, I started a new thread for this. I figure people should know. Contrary to popular belief, the AI is ot on equal playing field with you at Bright and below. Peace Phoenix, Stardock themselves, in this context, uses the term cheating. They've claimed the AI "doesn't cheat". They used the word. Fuels Chief, what exactly is it that you disagree with me about? Here's the facts: I created a map where there was only 1 planet per one star per one race, and included all races. I started a new game and performed the following: -Set all AI's to same level -Turned cheat keys on -CTRL-U -CTRL-SHIFT-S -Advanced espi

Fuels Chief, my comments above, and more importantly, the purpose of my thread, is to bear proof that the AI cheats. Weather or not this cheating is for good or ill, and that it makes the AI harder and perhaps more enjoyable to some, is absolutely irrelevant. My beef is that Stardock has spelled out the difficulty levels in many interviews and have claimed again and again that the AI doesn't cheat and it plays the game like you do. I just did another test on "Normal". The AI starts o

Hold on a second. Peace Phoenix. By what I've stated above, it should be clear that the AIs receive substantial bonuses far beyond what is termed 'legal' as far as party & picks goes. Furthermore, Stardock has made repeated claims that the AI does not cheat on "Intelligent" or below. Moreover, granting non-legal bonuses is cheating, which is hardly subjective.

I performed a small test just to see what the AI starts out with in abilities. Right from the start of the game, I loaded up on espionage. Every AI "intelligent" race starts with +5% PQ, an exorbitant amount of economics, diplomacy, and research. Furthermore, a few more even gain ship hitpoints of up to +70%. How is this not considered AI cheating!?
