Having been in situations where I've changed clothes with the help of male peers, slept in the same rooms... I didn't see the problem. We had a job to do. We weren't leering at each other. It was work, plain and simple. I've also roomed with gay women. Same room and everything. We changed in front of each other, and ran around in nothing but our towels from the shower. (Get your heads out of the gutter) They never made me feel uncomfortable. I would have a problem show

I remember "Don't ask, don't tell". I've heard people complain about gays in the military, and people complain about the people who complain about gays in the military. I've heard people give excuses to why gays should not be allowed in the military, but honestly? I don't understand. I am not in the military, so I don't know how that life is different from

f you are anything in real life like on Joeuser...he'll probably propose!hahaha Since Two Towers is his favorite of the LotR movies, I might just say yes. Just promise me that on your first face to face date you meet in a very public place in the day time or daylight! I promise... no fingers crossed or anythin

Tova, it's not just you. Looks are important. And while I agree with Dynamaso that it's nice to actually get to know someone without the physical interfering, I checked out his pictures just as much as his profile. Lucky for me, I've seen a lot of pictures of him. And not just the pictures you put on your dating profile, I've seen his Facebook and his MySpace pictures. If he looks anything like his pictures, then I'll be fine because I think he's pretty cute. Some kids in one of

I was trying to think what the woman from Charlotte Perkins Gilman's "The Yellow Wallpaper" would be like after the story. This could be a poem as opposed to a piece of prose. I was actually inspired by a poetical form called the sestina. The only part of the form that I kept was that the las

I don't believe that many things are "relative", but normal is definitely a relative term. However, if you want to look at your response and say, "See? My mind works just as the majority of the world's" and hope that they take that to mean you are normal, be my guest. And good luck.

You are aware that line was in the original, aren't you? Peter Jackson kept that one in for good reason. Doesn't make it right. I love Peter Jackson, I really do. He did wonderful things in LotR to make fans of the book happy. But seriously? That line? Hated it. (and no, I wasn't aware... but I still hate it) So, since you brought that line up, does

This does tie in to the last fiction piece you did, even if it wasn't meant to be! I blame it on the feminist literary criticism I'm reading right now. And thanks. I almost didn't put this one up because I wasn't sure how it would read.

There are some seriously cool movies missing from this list. And what about foreign films? As for King Kong... I was fine with it until the giant monkey is holding the girl in one "hand" and fighting THREE T-Rexes. I would have been fine with two, but three was a bit much for me. That and "It was beauty killed the beast." Not really, usually funny but jerky in this movie Jack Black. It was GREED that killed the beast. Tim Burton (Spiderman, but n

For anyone keeping up with my life, you might remember my attempt at Internet dating. You might also remember that I actually met someone that I have enjoyed talking to. You might also be aware that I made a wish list to Cupid, and I am happy to report that, thus far, Zach (that's his name) meets every single one of my requirements. Recap: 1. I want a m

Long? I haven’t been here long. No, not long. I have been here forever. I don’t keep up with the nights, the days, the meals, the sleep. I don’t keep count. Not anymore. I used to keep count, but I was afraid it would turn me crazy. Crazy? That’s why they say I’m here. I don’t know what I have, but they say I have it. I don’t agree, but th

When my hubby gets like that I hit him hard enough for him to wake up and tell him to change position and he usually does! I tried. I would roll him, punch him, kick him and he would move, but he would still snore. I actually hit him over the head with my pillow one night, and he didn't move a muscle. He finally woke up when I started laughing. Fortunately for me, he wasn't a cuddle sleeper either, and he had a VERY large bed. He still snore

Anyone who sits around making lists telling people they don't have a life....needs to get one! In my own defense, I did not make this list. Had I made it, I would have added many more dorky and classic movies. (at least it had HP, SW, & LotR) In fact, I think I

Both sets of my grandparents sleep in separate rooms. My parents do occasionally if one of them is snoring too badly, and I know I would have happily kicked my ex out of bed some nights. His snoring was so bad and nothing would make him stop. Actually, I remember reading an article in... Good Housekeeping?... a few years ago about a couple that have separate bedrooms. They saw some adventure in it. Secret trysts in the middle of the

Ha! I beat you by 1. If they had had any old movies on that list -- Anything with Cary Grant or some old movie musicals, I would have kicked some serious butt... except perhaps foreverserenity's butt... but I would come close.

I wonder how many of these celebs actually suffer from addiction, and how many of them suffer from lack of control. Addiction is a mental disorder. Lack of control is different. This lack of willpower not only explains their drinking/drugging behavior, but also their inability to take rehab seriously. I will say, however, that if you are a celebrity with a real problem, you cannot go to rehab quietly. Too many people want in their business

I'll have to watch Shawn of the Dead soon... since I have no life. I'll admit that there are few on this list that I have seen only once. Perhaps I shouldn't admit it, but what the hey... you all already know I have no life. I just held my fourth annual Lord of the Rings Extend-a-thon a few weekends ago. This does not count the many times I've watched them on my own. That same weekend, I watched all four Harry Potter movies on Friday, Satu

SUPPOSEDLY if you've seen over 93 movies, you have no life. Mark the ones you've seen. There are 239 movies on this list. Copy this list, put x's next to the movies you've seen, add them up and see if you have a life. Have fun! I hope nobody recognized themselves in your well-written story, man or woman. The part I like the most is the ritual she has of putting on the lotions and potions to keep her skin looking youthful. The only thing that came from my life is the ritual she goes through each morning. If I buy one more potion for my skin, I'll be able to open my own store! It is my sincere hope that no one finds themselves in eithe

What happened to her? She got married. Some feminists think that once a woman gets married and has children, she dies to herself. She must also kill her physical self by avoiding the appearance of age or flesh -- thus the creams and lotions.

I'm not sure why, but the short story I wrote last night is not showing up in my articles, but can be found in the forum in the writing section. In an attempt to put it in my articles, I'm writing this and adding the link to "The Zombie". Have a nice day! Link -- The Zombie<BR
