I wasn't really going for sad and depressing. Honestly, I wasn't. Actually, I'm not sure what I was going for. I'll probably rewrite it at some point to give it a more supernatural feeling... but the metaphor stays the same. And very well witten. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I'm not entirely sure where this came from... I just felt like writing it last night. And I'm sure your wives don't feel this way. Ya'll don't seem the type to treat someone like a mindless slave. Well, not your wives at least.
That's a great line... among many Thanks *blushing* Can anyone tell me why this is not showing up in my articles or on my page?
She died fifteen years ago and since then, every morning has been the same. Every morning she goes through the ritual that keeps her corpse from falling apart. She wakes just before sunrise, greeting the sun with complicated moves and stretches that kept the muscles firm and limber. She moves stiffly at first, forcing pretended life through her body. Eventually, her movements come more easily and she knows she has one more day. She sits in front of the mirror. Each day,
Happy Birthday. Hope you drop by for a visit soon.
College is the weaning, Graduate school is the independance. It is hard. But if you were not going to Graduate school, and got a job in Arkansas, would it be any easier? Nope, it would be harder because it wouldn't be what I wanted to do. I'm looking forward to graduate school, I really am. I think it could really be a blast. I did the same thing when I went to college -- worried about everything, got here, forced myself to get out and hav
Tell me about it! So far I've been on here for more than an hour and still can't reach anywhere! Of course I was able to respond to you! You get all my chatter today! (No, really, I like reading you so, don't think that I wouldn't be around if I didn't have a choice!lol!) Yeah, uh huh, sure. I know you're only here because you can't get anywhere else. <br/
Thanks FS. I know I could talk to my parents and to my friend, and they would probably be able to help me. Now that I'm much calmer and I've gotten some serious sleep, I will probably talk to my parents. As for my friend, we used to talk about how afraid we were that we wouldn't get into our schools. We actually had a long conversation the day before I got my letter about how we didn't know what to do with our lives if we didn't get into med/grad.
You must be thinking of purple. my mistake... *wandering off confused.*
As you may have read, I got my acceptance letter into graduate school on Friday. That was one of the happiest moments in my life. I squealed, I jumped, I did a happy dance in the middle of Old Navy. Tonight, however, is a slightly different story. It hit me first when I was talking to my dad about taking a trip to Tennessee's campus. We were tryin
Isn't that what all thesis are about? If you mean working on something you are passionate about, then yes, I hope so. As my adviser said when she introduced me at my presentation, "This thesis is exactly what a thesis should be: a combination of scholarly work and personal obsession." I thought my parents and friends were going to die laughing when she said that.
As I said. I am sure some is a lack of will power. Some is hormonal. Some is medical. And some is biological. Don't forget psychological. Eating disorders aren't limited to anorexia and bulimia.
I actually put a very brief summary of my thesis here on JU. You can find here: Link I had so much fun with my undergrad thesis. It's the only time I could read Harry Potter and say "I'm not goofing off! I'm doing research!" and actually be telling the truth.
FISH! Definitely my favorite flower. I thought it was a vegetable...
What your flower means: Daisy - innocence Lily - regal Marigold – desire for riches Orchid – delicate beauty Black Rose – death of love Pink Rose - Friendship Purple Rose - royalty Red Rose – passionate love Red Tulip – declaration of love Yellow Tulip – hopelessly in love Venus Fly Trap – crazy and maniacal? Zinnia – thoughts of friends
This is what your color means: Red- Love and War: Red is hot. It's a strong color that conjures up a range of seemingly conflicting emotions from passionate love to violence and warfare. Red is Cupid and the Devil. Yellow- Hope and Happiness: Yellow is sunshine. It is a warm color that, like red, has conflicting symbolism. On the one hand it denotes happiness and joy but on the other hand yellow is the color of cowardice and deceit. Pink- Cotton Candy and Little Girls:
More years in the ivory tower, far away from the real world! hehehe... This is what I'm looking forward to the most! Grad school is lots of work and with a Teaching Assistantship you will barely have time for yourself. Fortunately, I haven't taken the easy road in my undergrad, so I feel a little prepared. I've al
SHE congrats on the weight loss so far, just don't give up! Since I've actually seen results this time, I feel like continuing. I think the hardest part is writing down all the things I eat. I just forget to do it sometimes. It's still hard to go to dinner, look at all the food and say, "No. I am full now. I don't need to eat any more... no matter how good it tastes." not to mention the "Ok, I've studied for a long time now, and I need a break. Oo
I haven't decided yet if I want to study British Romanticism or British Neoclassicism. This is kinda funny, since these two are pretty much polar opposites. I love the wit and sarcasm of the Neoclassic Age -- I mean, any age that says, "The British need food, the Irish have a problem with overpopulation.... let the British eat Irish babies!" is pretty freaking awesome. However, the imaginative power of the Romantic Age is extremely appealing. Perh
I suppose I should specify that It's the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I forgot the Knoxville part. And thanks to all of you. I'm still bouncing off the walls.
SHE: I saw a pic of you a while back and I thought you were a total hottie! Thanks. *blushing* Be that as it may, I'm a size 16 hottie. Even though I'm 5'8", that's still a bad size to be.
I am considered borderline obese, yet the funny thing is, I go to the gym every freaking day, for about two hours. (Ok, I only go 6 days a week. Everyone needs a break) I can out last many of the "skinny" people at the gym. I can lift more, run faster, and run longer. I'm slowly losing weight, but it is extremely difficult. Besides the fact that I think my fat is just plain stubborn, I've had some problems with food in the past: I'm a severe emotional eater. I eat when I'm bored, w
(just dont root for them, k? Not really a problem, since I don't care much for sports.
The letter came today to my parents house. My mom called my cell phone to tell me I had been accepted into the Graduate program at the University of Tennessee! And, if my mom read the letter correctly, I was also given an assistantship. If she didn't read it correctly, I'm on the wait list for an assistantship... which means if someone turns theirs down, I get thei
I win for being common and not being able to be imaginative under pressure? No fun. Think of it this way... Normal people are supposed to pick "red, rose, carrot." Anyone who did not pick those must have something wrong with them. hehehe *running away before someone kicks me off JU for saying everyone on here is nuts
