I am recently, well, kinda recently, out of love. I wasn't sure for a while if I could have gone back in time, would I have done it all again. I still wonder sometimes, but I know how much I learned from that relationship. I learned to open up and be vulnerable, even if it could hurt me. I learned that I am a strong person, and whatever relationship I end up in, I can work out problems. I don't give up easy. I am supportive and loyal. I

What is Love? As the dreaded 14th comes ever closer, it leaves people wondering, "what is love?" Is it chocolates and flowers (aka dead plant life and sugar-and-fat blocks)? Is it being hit in the heart by one of the naked, fat boy's arrows? Is it candlelight? Is it friendship? Is it unconditional? Is it forever or can it fade? Is there only one love, or ca

Certainly, but lets say you're having a grand old time and decide to head out to another place, maybe to go dancing or for dinner. Even if you drive your own car, the tag # from his is going to be handy if you never show up where you're expected to be later on, or the following day. Very, very true.</fo

I did a paper on King for a Horror Fiction class I took. I don't think I could do an entire thesis on him, however. The one paper caused me to sleep with the bathroom light on for a week! Fantasy is safer.

I have friends who have already volunteered to sit at a nearby table when we first meet. I didn't even have to ask them! I didn't think about taking down the license plate, LW, thanks for the tip. I figured I'd drive myself, though. Surely it's safer that way. My friend told me she had a code word. If her friends heard her use it, that meant "come to my rescue!" I have never used friends to get out of a boring date. I'm usuall

Nope, just an undergrad. This was my senior honors thesis at the University of Central Arkansas. I suppose I should have added my bibliography to this... didn't think about that.

A long time ago, someone requested that I put my thesis on JU. Well, the actual thesis is very long, so here are the notes I used when I presented it. Enjoy! (Or run away as fast as you can) Welcome to my presentation of Mythology, Fantasy Literature and the Modern Reader. What is the hold fantasy literature seems to have on its readers? What magic spell

I hope this guy didn't. I'm not vain, but I do like a guy who is taller than I am. And that isn't hard, since I refuse to wear heels as I am already tall for a girl. In other words, if they are going to lie about the obvious, dont trust them on anything! No kidding.

Oh, I just thought the article was funny. I'm learning that more people than I thought have met their significant others online. I didn't really think that it worked that well. I know my Uncle just married a woman he met online... but I thought he was the exception. I feel pretty positive thus far. At the very least, I have met a possible friend. And at most? Well, I'm not going there yet. <img src="../images/smiles/joke.gif"

If God appeared to you at the gate and asked you "Why should I allow you into heaven? how would you answer? Most people no matter if they are Christian, Hindu, or Muslim would answer with: "I always do ....... "I never have done........." I've done more good than bad....." "I've tried my best to be......." Wouldn't the Chris

That's great! I'm glad no one died as a result of your union. So far, I don't think he's a creep... but that will hardly keep me from having friends along when we first meet. My friend sent me this article on internet dating that I have to share here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jill-brown/fearless-internet-dating_b_36388.html

I assume you mean Beorn.I was thinking of Tom Bombadil. But I am not going to argue with the master! Master may be a bit much... I was just thinking that Beorn takes the shape of a bear in The Hobbit, that's why I picked him. Tova: Thanks for the luck. I was also impressed that he followed

I figured that's what you meant. We have a few details so far. I know he's a teacher (which means he passed a background check), and he has an older brother and a dog. He knows I'm graduating in May and I want to go to graduate school. And he knows I've never been beaten at LotR Trivial pursuit. He thinks he can give me a run for my money. Ha! And now everyone on JU knows the exact same things. It's amazing what we'll tell people, huh?

It is safe to talk about favorite movies, right? Because that's about all we've e-mailed about thus far. Well, that and books and music. The funny thing about the 43 year old was that he was looking for someone 35-45! He must have just not looked at my profile or something. I hope I don't look like I'm in my mid 30's to mid 40's. (Not there's anything wrong with that for people who are that age... but I don't even tan. I should age well!

Wow. I wish I had an Officer McHottie to help me out. Your story is definitely worse than mine. Plus, it sucks that you aren't even having the pleasure of sexing some guy to at least deserve the death threats. It also sucks that you had to deal with a rude cop first. He could have compromised your safety! I'm glad you insisted on your rights and reported the creepy calls despite his comments.

Since my breakup with the guy I thought I would end up married to, I've been making sure that I am ok. I wanted to make sure that I knew who I was and that I had my life straight before jumping back into a relationship. There's also the small matter of being older than everyone around me. (I'm a fifth year senior and there are few of us) Recently, however,

Hey Doc. Thanks for the congrats. I'm just hoping my "stalker" is some rude resident who has a grudge and is just playing pranks. It's enough to kinda freak me out, but I hope they don't know that.

Hey Shades! Wasn't sure if anyone would remember me. I keep coming and going. The breakup, while painful, is behind me now and I am able to say, "I learned a lot from that relationship, and I feel very comfortable moving on." My thesis, on the other hand, was one of the best experiences of my life. Sometimes I can't believe I actually finished it. As for the stalker: It doesn't seem that they've done enough to bring the police in ye

It's been a while. My computer crashed not long after my last article, and I've been so busy with school that I didn't make it back for a while. So, here's what you missed. The BF and I broke up. Long story and even longer break up. We did the "together but not" thing for 5 months until I found out I had become the other woman. Eew. Needless to say, we

I am terrified. There it is. Three little words that I can’t say out loud to anyone I know. I get little panic attacks when I think about the future. I say the words “graduate school” and suddenly there is an elephant sitting on my chest. I think about what the year 2007 will bring and my heart flutters, my chest feels heavy and my head swims. Don’t ge
