The Volume Encyclopedia". It was one of those books with EVERYTHING in it...and it was about 5000 pages thick! Ooo! I want that one! Of course, the good thing about this book is it is a daily devotional. With a 5,000 page book, I would buy it with the intent of reading it cover to cover, do ok for a few days, maybe even a week, then find myself wondering "whatever happened to that really cool book I bought that would have told me about everyth

Link Husband: "Ummm, honey? I wrecked the car." Wife: "You what?!? You better have a good reason!" Husband: "Ummm, yeah. I do. I was, ah, kidnapped. Yeah, I was kidnapped. That's what happened." Or not. Apparently this man from California decided to fake his own kidnapping
It is cool. A girl in the English club showed it to me and I bought it that same weekend. I - am - such - a - nerd!
I don't mind getting off topic. I live my life off topic. Her list was: 10. Diabolique 9. The Blair Witch Project 8. Jaws 7. The Thing 6. Psycho 5. Don't Look Now 4. Aliens 3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Rosemary's Baby 1. Peeping Tom She had her reasons for each: scare factor, gore factor, originality or "movies that changed the way we look at movies".
I read your blog, you are not a troll. Yeah... just a hyper elf. Maybe Hunter should hit another kid, then you'd get another chance at the principal. Wait, that might be a bad idea. Nevermind. Forget I said anything.
I avoid him -- always have, always will. I don't have much need to interact with him. In fact, I had not directly interacted with him until he attacked my residents. My boss has asked for the code the last two times. Still no code. And while I don't want to go to his boss, having my boss go to his boss is not a bad idea. Yeah, he gets no sorry for me. Had he approa
I know I cannot be the only person to have heard the phrase, "It's not what you said, it's how you said it" when I was a teenager. Come on, admit it. You heard it too. Problem is, I'm getting that from online communication now. My online "tone" has been heard to be short and/or rude. And now? I'm annoyed. (This is not something, btw, that I've h
Maybe the teachers deserved detention for not doing their job. Sounds like they dropped the ball here. Yeah, I should keep them all after school! heh. Maybe not the teachers, but the Principal could use some ISS. Seriously though? Unless the teachers were aware that J's lunchtime activities were re-occuring, then it really isn't their fault. Well, not entirely. If it ever happens again, tell Hunter to tell the teacher how many times
Yup. Multiple times. I'm not even close to borderline. It's just a freakish thing that happens every once in a blue moon. Actually, it's fairly common for people's blood sugar to drop depending on their circumstances. Too much exercise on not enough food, rapid weight loss. Mine comes from too little sleep, too much stress, and too much junk food. After about a few weeks or so of living like this, my body gives me a wakeup call. Too bad it take
I recently purchased what I believe to be the coolest book ever. It is called The Intellectual Devotional by David S. Kidder & Noah D. Oppenheim. This book takes you on a day by day journey into intellectual growth. Monday is for History, Tuesday is for Literature. Wednesday is devoted to the Visual Arts while Thursday concentrates on Science. The wee
That was the funniest, yet saddest list I have ever read. Wow.
Ah! If only that worked with EVERYTHING! too true!
~sniffs arm pits~ ?
I saw Gaelic Storm about a year ago. I went for work and wasn't really looking forward to it, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. I miss my boys. I've been their groupie for five years now. My favorite time with them was at a bar in Little Rock, AR. My friends and I went upstairs with them until 3a
#16 made me laugh. I had to get used to that as well. Now, I'm happy to say I don't have to smell them anymore -- ever again. Congrats though. And don't be too shy to steal the covers back!
Yeah, I'm sure it's low blood sugar. I'm not actually hypoglycemic. Not technically, at least. I just have a tendency to have insulin overdose if I've eaten too much sugar recently. It doesn't happen very often. Hasn't happened in over a year or so, actually. And I'm taking care of myself. I promise. A shot of honey and a glass of juice will put me to rights.
haha! I think cats would be easier. I can kick a cat. Can't do much to residents, or I'll get fired. Herding Cats, btw, is the name of Gaelic Storm's Second Album. (Link to their site provided at the left of my page)
The storms are gone, and I survived. So did the kiddies.
I'm guessing you had a close encounter of the SUV kind? (Sorry, couldn't help it. I am a geek, afterall) Reminds me of the little old lady in the white car we had around our campus. She hit three students within two weeks before things got serious. They took her license away after the first college student went to the hospital, but she kept driving without it. Her kids finally took the car away. We now have lights that mark the c
I have no real medical reason for doing this. It just happens every once in a while. My sugar levels drop. Plummet would be a better word. Sometimes I realize what's going on at the very beginning and I can do something about it before it gets too bad. At other times, it hits so fast that I'm shaking and bitchy before I know what's happened. The
Allow me to detail a very unhappy experience. Not one of the worst in my life -- not by a long shot. However, it's still pretty bad, and I'm sure some day I will look back and laugh at today. But right now, I don't feel like laughing. As the Headline states, It's a Twista. That's right, tornados. I live in a dorm. I'm supposed to call it a "Re
Is that what he wrote? I had no idea. His writing is, well, so unintelligible that I would have been unable to translate. And speaking of writing, your writing is very witty and clear QotD. The satiric voice was perfect. Nice.
I am sad. So sad. I have had my heart broken. I don't get to watch House M.D. for THREE WEEKS! Why would they do this to me? I need my House! I'm addicted to him like he's addicted to those pills. I'm going to go cry myself to sleep now! Seriously, the old man has let me down. I'm not sure if he's interested or not. I'm trying not to
1. You did a fantastic job. I'm not sure I would have had the sense to tell my child different ways of handling the situation, so cudos to you! 2. I think you had enough balls and brians (excuse the expression) to handle the situation and you are "man" enough. 3. WTF? You can't hit people but you can shove them and steal from them? Is it impossible for the three teachers to confirm this little boy's klepto habits to the principal
I have to read short stories. I read before my classes, and short stories just read better ten minutes at a time. Besides, these stories are so strange and fantastic that if they went on for too long, you might get annoyed as well. Oh, and I forgot to mention: At the end of the book there is a novella sequel to Gaiman's "American Gods". It's really great to pick up with Shadow again. It's also a kind of re-telling of Beowulf.
