Are you using an Windows OS other than Windows XP? In which case, while WindowBlinds skins the Windows to look like XP, it has no way to skin the Win 98/ME/2k taskbar to look like the WinXP taskbar. I'm pretty sure there's a KDE WindowBlinds theme on this site. I think there's either a DesktopX or ObjectBar theme here as well. Finally, I'm pretty sure someone also made a Gnome ObjectBar theme. I fully understand, David. If I were to maintain the coverage for just myself using the existing carrier, it would run me north of $500 mo. And those COBRA payments sound terrible. Luckily the last time I used COBRA, it only cost me approx. $180 mo. That was more like it. Alas those days have passed.

WindowBlinds can do this, though IIRC it never looked very well. For instance, it would be nice if you could specify it to be partially transparent such that it looked a little bit darker or lighter than the underlying desktop wallpaper. Eterm, or whatever its called, on Linux did this really well.

Hey gang. I figured I'd give this a shot here, seeing how this is predominantly an older crowd that might have some experience in this area. In a month I'm about to lose my current healthcare coverage. I've looked at staying with the same provider, only as an individual. However, the rates are going up next month from what was once mildly expensive to something that's quite expensive. While I can swing this, I'd rather find a less costly alternative. You can do this if you have WindowBlinds or you have WindowsFX. In WindowsBlinds Advanced Configuration Dialog, select "Settings" from the icon list on the left. Now on the right, scroll down until you see "Enhance Desktop Elements". Make sure the "Make desktop icon text backgrouns transparent" is checked.
