I like right single click for action. since you could easy show all the info in the UI when you do the left click select anyway.

no not at all, and it has been reported before that the forum timings arent correct. but it will hopefully help in pixtudios pursuit to correct it. it's not like it's gonna take time of the game anyway since it's pixtudio doing the web. just now all of the threads that I saw showed 1 day altho some of them are only minutes old.
In case it's hard to spot...check the hour-values. They are off by an hour sometimes....
The posted-age is wrong http://home.jacobsson.nu/galciv/forumbug.jpg then right when I have made the screendump and saved it I got: http://home.jacobsson.nu/galciv/forumbug1.jpg
However..that effectivly stops any ideas of having menus or so where ya could choose decomission, stop auto-route and others. But that's perhaps something that you didnt want to implement anyway? On the other hand it could be done with Jack's long left of long right suggestion.
"We could have left mouse button always selects and RIGHT mouse button sends the ship on its way to that destination." Sounds perfect to me.
Hrrrm.... Never ever press the delete button on the screenshots page. I wonder why I had that option so I just had to try if it was for real. It was...I had the power to delete stuff other ppl had put up there. Sorry guys...I deleted the Yor pic :( Damn...I shouldnt be so curious... Sorry.
CariElf - many of the mice with wheel have a click action on the wheel too. For exapmle...in Counterstrike I have scroll through the weapons on the wheel up/down, and I have change ammo on the "wheel-button". /Fredrik
ummm...but select is the only one that Im very sure where I'd like. If autopilot were RBM I wouldnt object, that's a good solution too IMO. If you need a menu it could be if you hold down LMB for 2 sec or so.
Correct, I meant double-click as you describe it.
"Testers" would do fine IMO. Or slavelings. LOL If any at all
"I'm torn on the whole issue of ranges because I like them conceptually but didn't like them in practice." My feelings exactly. I love it in theory...but seldom played with it.
Well, personally, the most natural way to select an item is by using a LMB click. Now one cant use that since it might set a ship to that destination. That's about it. The other buttons or double-clicks doesnt bother me, it's just select=RMB that bothers me. However...my personal choice would be: select = LMB autopilot = 2*LMB menu = RMB (disband/sentry/whatever) then we have the 3rd button that many ppl have today...any takers? Or perhaps an option to map
Good article, however - I didnt like his negativity. :notsure: I really like Trillian and would like to continue use it. I'd prolly pay for it if I had to...that good is it, IMO.
Mmm well, since it's rather easy to use a sniffer to see what an AIM client sends and recieves, I belíeve that they need to change the whole messenging system so it's encrypted or so to stop trillian. And I doubt that they'll do that since it's gonna disallow all old clients from talking to the AIM system.
Hehe, thanks for the update, appreciated.
Hehe, I love trillian. I noticed AIM stopped working the other week and read about it, but the new version seems to work fine - so far. It's a great idea to have one client for all those messaging systems. Im confident about they beeing able to bypass any protection AOL puts up, but I guess that lawyers can stop them fairly easy, or havent AOL tried that yet? /Fredrik - "chaotic se" on AIM.
Ahh so it was an interface-question :) missed it. Well, I dont like the mouse-handling. (ship movement) If the zoom-function will be implemented it'd be great.
E) I love the OS/2-version and am confident that the new one will be even better.

Hehehe. Well, not a big deal to me. I bet we'll be able to so some serious beta-testing on the save/load features when it's ready for beta :)
Hahaha that reminded me of the old warcraft and what happened when ya clicked alot on one of yer ships. "Stop rocking the boat" *vomiting sound* All toops had their funny lines when ya clicked alot on them...what a funny game. The sound test in the setup had the same humor. When clicking alot on the "Test sound" it said "It doesnt get any better than this" instead of the soundtest. rotfl
