Hehe I love the applications with built-in humor. Plz try to implement some if ya have time over. Hahaha time over? Who am I trying to fool? :-) Like when a pirated ZOC hung up the modem near the end of downloading a huge file from a BBS with the responce like "You should be glad that I didnt do anything worse". Or a copied Strike Commander (or whatever it was)that was playable but in the fist or second mission all the friendly aircrafts turned their aims to you and stated "you have gon

And by that I meant to comment that I didnt help as much in the end that I wanted to, hehe. I was on a business-trip to england...
Yep, glad to be able to help. A little anyway :-)
Ehhhmmm...the world is bigger than just the US. I know you guys over there tend to forget that. rotfl.
Opens in my Wordpad. Gosh, strange. Im using winxp. Ill gladly read it when my head is clearer :-) 3.30am now
I really have no idea of such things...realistic things that is :-) Infogrames/Blue Byte/Interplay/3DO/Ubisoft (all distributes good games (IMO) in strategy or sci-fi categories) But it's a hard balance to select a publisher...I guess. It's got to be big enough to do the best for Stardock but small enough so GalCiv dont get lost in their portfolio.
:-) cool
I'd like to be able to set an option in my account that makes the forum show posted time/date instead of how long ago it was posted. On the first page that is...I know the info is avail if you open a post.
Does it happen all the time at about 80 turns? I just started a game and did nothing but pressing the turn-button. To try to recreate the problem here. I got to the end of game in far more turns that 80 without any problems. Or do you have to build ships do socia/resarch stuff too?
When trying to move the tax-slider (or others too) with left/right/up/down arrow keys the ships moves instead. (the one I cant see since the economics-screen is up) I'd like to be able to move the sliders with hte arrow-keys, or at least have the keys deactivated while the economics-screen is up.
Yep, exactly. I didnt know it was only an issue for the latest build. That game was with the previous one. I havent had such a long game with the latest yet. /Fredrik
strange. most of the stuff works here.
Wow Ive played the same game for 3 days and swapped back and forth several times without it growing that big. Something must be wrong if ya got it that bt, it's not normal behaviour
Oh gosh, now you got us drooling again. I'm gonna have to get a waterproof keyboard if you keep it up líke this :-) How big is the graphics team? Would ya give them a couple of beers if I put some money on yer account? LOL We have free beer/wine at work every friday afternoon. hehe that makes ummm intresting fridays. :CONGRAT:
The old - "When having a planet near the edge" problem is still present. Dont know if it was exactly the same but I just lost my scout. It was in orbit, and when I clicked on it to get it out of orbit, the main view suddenly focused on a completely different quadrant and the ship was lost. I couldnt find it anywhere. Not in orbit and not near my planet. The findbutton didnt find it either. Debug Message: Error. No available spaces around star. Debug Message: Make Ship Leave Orbit:
(and right after the colony ship ghostly moves, the turn-button is pressed it)
*sigh* When trying (successfully) to recreate the sticky turn-button behaviour...I got another error. The colony ship moves without me ginving it orders. 1. Start a tiny galaxy with all enemies. 2. Dont do anything but give the scout order to go to the enemys colony ship. 3. When the scout reaches the enemy colony-ship your own clony ship starts moving..
When successfully trying to reproduce the error with the scout auto-route, the turn-button froze at a pressed-in location. This happened right after the first AI move of the ship I selected to reproduce the error. Just after the route selection shifted from red circle to green circle. With the turn-button like that I couldnt go to next turn.
I clicked on an enemy colony ship with my scout, and after that I coulnt get it to stop folloing that ship. I clicked everywhere on the map ;p but it would still show the ship as route target (green ring) next turn.
Cool. I dont know if it's sopposed to be ok, but the buttons next to the military/social/research sliders misbehave.. Right now the social- does military-, the reseach+ does research- and vice versa, social+ does social-, the military+ does nothing, military- does military+.
http://home.jacobsson.nu/galciv/enderror.bmp I started a game with the biggest galaxy and ended it right away with ALT+F4. Debug Message: Game Initialization completed. Debug Message: Canvas width was taken to the nearest dword. Debug Message: Canvas width was taken to the nearest dword. Debug Message: Possible error: number of fields is not exact. Debug Message: Reading Star Names Debug Message: GameUninitialize start Another thing
Ummm I think I solved this one. I doubled the stars.lst (so it's 22k in size instead of 11k) After that Ive started 10 games with the biggest galaxy and none have crashed. That has never happened before..previous record was 3 LOL
Ummm at every crash at start of a game with the biggest map, the last I get in the debug.err is: Debug Message: Reading Star Names Mmm makes me wonder what the game does after that :-) Is there any way to get a more detailed logging?
Which OS are you using? if you are using winnt/win2k/winxp you can run drwtsn32 and set your crash-options there. Unless you have installed another handler for that. Ive never seen anyone getting some useful info from there tho And I doubt that you can change the behaviour of the print-screen function?? Anyone? Dont you get anything at all in yer clipboard when pressing that button?
