Well, I'm gonna start cranking out 60K's soon, So, in the spirit of gauntlet throwing - on - the - ground, lets pull ourselves up by the bootstraps into the #2 slot once again! If your into it, I say we make a comittment to submit at least one game, no matter how small, to the meteverse each day. If you and I do it, cool. If you know of anyone else who is left that is still playing in our meta group, bring them on board too.

LOL. While I'm still a noob in the relative sense, one of my favorite things to do is once you've mastered a certian skill level, go back down a few, and totally pwn the map. Right now, I just started a gigantic beginner game with the goal of having as many purple planets as possible. My Civ is called the "Boulder Hippies." PQ +7, populist social prod +20 and morale +10. I find it like a breath of fresh air not having to think to win on the lower levels, you really get to play rather th

Its been my experience that culture is the third spoke in this wheel. If you have the strongest military, good relations, and are culturally superior, or any combination of the three, they are more likely to join you. For example, If your relations are low but your military and culture is high, they'll prolly join you. I know its gamey, but one tactic is if you know a race is about to surrender or just did, go back a few savegames and make that civ your best friend or start invading him cultural

While I can now win 100% of the time at normal in Galciv regular, and about 70% the time on AP, They'res one thing that I still have trouble figuring out. WHY DOES THE AI ALWAYS HAVE NEARLY DOUBLE MY PRODUCTION CAPACITY?!?!?!!!!??!?!?!!!11?1!?!one11?!!one??1!?? My planets on the production map are theses little tiny zits of production, while theirs are full on precancerous boils on the face of the galaxy. They always seem to build thier economic, manufacturing and political ca

It seems a lot of people have trouble with this mission. I haven't played it yet. . . Can you get into diplomatic relations with them, like tech trading etc? Someone else said that you have to culturally assimilate them.. So just as some general tips... Start out as populists, do diplomacy +60 as a first pick. Trade all your non - culture techs for all their cash. If you attrit there cash reserves in this manner it should slow their cultural / economic growth. When they are out of c

Diplomacy and trade were key. Persuing appeasement, and keeping nice with all empires via trading my less useful techs enabled me to get my military propped up enough to pick on the weakest civ. I did populists with the +60 diplo and would trade the other civs into attrition. I took all thier money when I could and made the most out of every trade. Trading for influence points helped me keep the culture edge until I could out culture them in late game. Thx for the help everyone :)

I'm in the middle of a gigantic normal game, and the drengins are rolling my planets on one front, while the korx are rolling me on another front. while I outnumber their systems 2 to 1, they have 3 times the technology, production capacity and fleet size as me. Can I still win or should I retire now and quit while I'm ahead. I'm a pacifist, with +20 mil and social prod, +25 luck and +10 pop as my bonuses.

....agreed. I second that. A word of caution tho... its OK to ignore YOUR Xbox, just don't ignore your girlfriend'x Xbox. You need to play with that at least twice a week or she'll leave you. :d LOL LOL

More likely, it is merely me having a misunderstanding of the game mechanics, but I've been thinking about something that is possibly a flaw in having military and social production seperate. For example, lets assume that our production is set a 50/50 for military and social. Then, lets assume we have three planets, A, B, and C with relatively equal production capacity. All the plantets are producing the same social improvement that takes 10 turns to complete, but only planet A and B are produci

OK. I can pretty much pwn the levels before normal, and I can pwn normal about 66% percent of the time. I want to get that up to 100%, so I can face the next challenge. I will now describe my basic strategy, in an attempt to acquire some advice. My empire building follows roughly this strategy. 1. for the first ~20 turns, I do 100% military and colonize between 7 - 15 stars, depending on proximity to each other and other civilizations. 2. Once complete, I switch to 50/50 tech

The bug I am experiencing happens in between the turn before the the galactic council meets. It's most prevalent when I'm hitting the turn key rapidly.

Ok. I emailed her, thx for the link. I have a few more questions. First, part of the problem is a typo in my submission name. I have two names now, one is admiral tolwyn, just like my forum name, the other one is admrial tolwyn, A typo. Is there any way to delete the other name in the metaverse name list in game so I can stop making this mistake? Also, do I need to re - register with altarian prophecy to submit AP games to the metaverse?

Posting here too, I have a similar problem. The first time, there was a typo in my name, but on a resubmit I fixed the typo, but to game has showed up. The first time I submitted it was under "Admrial Tolwyn" the second time it was under "Admiral Tolwyn" identical to my forum name. Where is it? :sniff!:

I'd like to see culture - defined borders that are star system based rather than sector based, so they grow and shrink, so that a star surrounded by another culture succumbs easier to cultural deposition, vis a vis the way CIV III does it with cities. Cultural borders grow and shrink base upon the cultural advantage of the bordering civ. This would be a more fluid system of culture, rather than the rigid squares.
