Latest Beta 4...It is very slow after getting into the game for a while. Gigantic Galaxy...all AIs at average. P4 2GHz.

Oops...forgot one. 4. When new minor civilation was discovered into the game, game froze and needed to be killed from XP process manager.
I found the following strange things in Beta 4...I was playing in gigantic galaxy all AIs at Good. Me Good. 1. AI colony ships - too many and also not too smart in handling them...they should have colonized some nice planets that they were next to and I was still travelling towards, but I beat them as they kept going. 2. AI goes to war too fast with no reason. Shouldn't be the case if we are both good. Unless this is a result of me colonizing in their sphere of influence o
I missed that. It seems the 3B game works better under 3Z than 3B. Esp wrt performance. Thanks.
Yes, This is a game that was started under 3B. Perhaps this is a mistake. It seems to work OK..in fact, better than 3B did.
Hmmm...Bradian player is still in the game...but now lobotomized? I thought it was very efficient of it to grab the minor civ planets even faster than I could. I'm playing in a gigantic galaxy with all set to evil so there ain't much war going on (at least for me). I'm only at war with the Torian....effectively out of reach on the other side of the galaxy (till I get a starbase built). In this scenario, one wants to build manufacturing capability and population (means social programs like ent
Making good progress. I like the events and the things to find and exploit around the galaxy. I'm playing in a gigantic galaxy...all evil...Issues... 1. AIs don't seem to go after the goodies scattered about the galaxy much. They do go after the resources though. 2. Bradian AI seems too good :-)...ugly people! :D.. strong military and aggressive. Especially for a minor civ. Use it in a major civ. 3. Performance degrade significantly by the 2190s...(I think that's
too early to tell how it will affect me. i'm in a gigantic galaxy, ahead technically and building my military. larger than anyone else as well. though i don't want to take them all on. set to average ai...10 advantage points (6 for speed, 4 for research)...ai players at different settings. i also notice as i do good things, i can recover back to good. but i'm running out of planets to colonize and have become so evil that it's doubtful i can be "saved" ;-).
I really like the evil theme and music! It wasn't so hard to get to evil, when I was negative in money (not paying attention) and getting offered 4225 bc on the disease event to do the bad thing (I don't remember...something about killing 650 million people). Changed the whole direction of my civilization!
Many times, when a ship is moving, but doesn't use all of its movement points, the game pauses. That's good. But the galactic screen does not recenter on the currently active unit and one must go find it.
The game does not take me to the planet(s) screen to make changes to production, etc.. Just goes onto the next movement or event. I have to go find planets I took over the next time the game stops and waits for me to input something.
1) Fix bugs....ship menu, stacked ships...also I should not be able to trade with Civs that I'm at War with. 2) Add diplomacy -- reduce military nature of the game...that is, I'm at War almost immediately regardless of what I attempt to negotiate. 3) Improve trade...I could only get 2 trade routes in. And the were for "11" 4) Add wonders...I really like the CivIII/SMAC way these are done. 5) There are a bunch of planetary improvements that seem to be mi
I finally was able to get DGM to work...however, I still get upgrade access errors where it tries to upgrade DGM. GalCiv looks to be a great follow-on to the OS/2 version. I like the tech tree (at least as far as I could get into it). I really haven't fully deciphered it though. Kinda hard to play and not get killed, cause the strategy when all of the components are fully operational is different than a military strategy...but I've adjusted... ;) The color scheme is
Brad, I'll take another try at this. Please have your team delete my old dregnin account(s) and create a new one. I seem to still have trouble getting Galciv to show up on the menu (or anything for that matter) in the new client. I will also delete the client and reinstall. I'm on WinXP, with the fixpacks as of March. Thanks, Army No. Va. Sorry for posting this to the wrong place before.
Scribe? Frogboy.... you still have yet to earn the "Lord" title here, yet ;-) e-mail is [email protected]. However, my user info shows an expiration date of 8/27/00....yet I just renewed my subs. yes...I selected show betas. I have no game choices whatsoever, not even TCM.
Using Win XP...Fixpack 1 and security fix. Do not have firewall configured. Access to news and groups works. Chat and games do not show anything. Am I missing something? Is XP a problem? Army No. Va.
