OK I give in. I'll pay, I'll pay. BUT can someone answer the question about being able to run WB5? see #43. I've taken up too much whatever it is with my bitchin' and moanin'. Thanks and sorry.

I will upgrade if I can cause I'm addicted. The only thing I worry about is that my built in graphics won't be good enough. Here's the deal: Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller [Display adapter] I've upgraded the drivers to the lateset ones Intel has and put in DirectX 9. 4.6 runs perfectly. Ya think I can run 5? Sorry for bitchin'. It's just that my money situation hasn't been too good the last couple of y
Snidely: You miss my point. I was lead to believe that the upgrade would be 10 bucks and not 15 bucks. Now I admit that 5 bucks ain't much in the big picture but that's what frosts my nads. 2 reasons: the email I mentioned and past history. Now all of a sudden they tack on an extra 5 for upgrades when in the past I've upgraded for 10! I guess the ill planned subscription drive didn't go good enough. I'm just tellin' the truth here. Yes ill p
I thought I'd get the upgrade for 10 bucks! That is what they used to do. An email I got back in September from Kim at Stardock support more or less said that. Now it's 15? Why should someone who has been using WB since September get it for free when someone who has been using it and paid the full cost a long time ago only get a 5 buck discount? That sucks. Seems to me that long time users should get a better break then this. Give the long time support
I use DX and Konfab. What is perfect? I've had Photoshop crash on me! I don't skin but I am pretty good at figuring out how to use DX etc. I love DX and I usually have it and Konfab running together. I can't make a comment about creating Objects, widgets or themes but if anyone has trouble running DX "stuff" they can usually find solutions in the forum section here either by searching or posting. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/BigSmile
I'll try to be to the point. I work at a newspaper. I sit behind a G4 running Tiger for 8 to 12 hrs. a day. We use Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat etc. OK, sounds like top of the line stuff, right? Well we have a Mantra: SAVE SAVE SAVE Always SAVE. Uh yeah Happy Birthday!
My old Chicago Cubs 2003 Division Champions T Shirt and a pair of ole' gym shorts. Avenger WB, Archon IP and BOXXICELLI WP. Got the idea from the interview with Cyberworld on Winmodify. Nice setup!
I am a former Aston user. I used to use Aston shell and alt desk. I don't use Aston shell anymore because it doesn't like McAfee. Aston people say it's McAfee's fault, whatever. I used to use Alt Desk but when I switched to WB all that Aston stuff got swept under the rug. I got the email from Gladiators/Aston about the new Alt Desk so here is my report: #1. Wouldn't accept my registration info. I dunno why. I emailed them about it. #2. Whenever I switc
Seems to me that lately a lot of people have been coming to this site with no patience and no tact. "Yeah, that helps me alot. Not doing anything, this program is a pile of crap." Nice way to talk to people who are trying to help you. Keep acting like this and no one will want to help you. I don't.
I was a young man once but I got over it and decided that the best thing to do was not grow up. The problem there was that nobody would co-operate with me on that so I decided to fool them into thinking that I grew up. Little did they knew the truth. Words of wisdom for you my boy.
You have got to pay attention!
Bash2cool, have you scanned the computer for spyware? Why do you say that the computer runs slow because you have loaded so many skins? That in itself should not be a problem unless you have run out of space for them on your hard drive or that the programs have gotten corrupted. Have you cleaned out the cache for the Stardock programs? How many skins have you loaded? Are you out of control? You have got to make sure that the computer is free of spyware
Let me clarify. I was worried that even though I have purchased Stardock software I wouldn't have access to the site. I pay my way so therefore I feel I should have access. The elitism comment I made is probably a result of paranoia. Fearing that the site would close up unless you subscribe. I'm not down with that. Sorry if I have not presented my view properly. There are problems with the site. It bogs down. That is the main problem. That'
I can only speak for myself and I have purchased Stardock software, to the tune of about 75 bucks altogether. Yes, I should have just bought OD but I wanted to test each program first so that's how I did it. Why shouldn't I be able to have access to the site as it is now? I've paid. I'll continue to update my Stardock programs correctly but I think that they have bitten off more than they can chew. There are many times the site bogs down and you can't
Do ya think that setting a goal of 2000 subs was not thought out very well? I do. Stardock can do whatever they want with this site because they own it but if they ain't careful they are gonna end up shooting themselves in the foot. In the long run they are gonna lose customers instead of gain customers if they make this, how should I say it, elitist. Speaking for myself, I feel I have spent enough on Stardock software to help support the company. I mi
Whatever it takes. If Brad cannot make a go of it without the subscriptions then he needs to make this a subscriber site. Simple. It's his business and he can do what he wants with it. Those of us who do not subscribe but have purchased Stardock software will feel ripped off. Does purchasing Stardock software help pay for the site? If it does than I'd say we would be ripped off. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Crying.gif" border=0 ALIGN
My name is Chasbo and I'm going to be late for work because I'm typing this.......
OK let's go back. I agree with the concept of paying for the software. That's a given. WHEN IS THE OFFICIAL BUILD GOING TO BE RELEASED?
No need to aplogize Dragon. No offense taken. You are right on all counts but I must tell you that I am a South Sider. Born and raised around Midway Airport. Lived around Wrigley in the 80's but now I'm back South, way South Subs. I am not one of those fly by night fans. If you are a Cubs fan you don't like the Sox but I'd lose every interleague game to the Sox if the Cubbies could down the Cardinals and Astros. If you are a Bears fan you don't like Th
White Sox and Cards=NIGHTMARE!!! I WILL NOT WATCH! I'm from Chicago and a PROUD CUBS FAN!
Don't have it and I don't want it until the "Official release". I couldn't get it anyway because I am not an Object Desktop guy. I would rather add things a little at a time, partly a money issue and partly because it makes more sense to me. Even after an "Official release" I am gonna wait. Can't wait for the final stable time tested build because I have been following all this with my mouth a watering. I bought IP3 in late June and didn't get it worki
Thanks for the link. I like this little program.
To all you Apple users: I hope you are happy with your OS. I use it for 8 hrs. a day. It is great. I prefer XP at home and await Vista. With Object Desktop, Konfabulator etc. It's DA BOMB! Sure there are some features that OSX has that XP doesn't but I find that I can pretty much do everything on XP that I can do on OSX. It's all about what you prefer and whatever that is doesn't make you any better than anyone else. To all you Apple users regardi
It's ok but if you just sit there and stare at it then I think that you might have a problem.
