Firefox is just plain good. I use IE7 for banking and only because my banks site doesn't play nice with Firefox and also for Windows updates. Opera is OK but who cares!

SirSmiley is right. I used Avedesk Icons (Pidl shortcuts. Sometimes I use IconX. Sometimes I use Object Dock. It depends on the skin, wall etc., what I am trying to do. Trial and error.

I'm using it and it is what Microsoft should have been doing all along. Making different themes. It doesn't skin everything. Log off for example. It's very use able and there are quite a lot of WB's that look real nice but only stay on this machine for a little while because they aren't use able day to day. I'll go back to WB eventually. It will be interesting to see how these same people will react to the higher versions of Vista and the gadgets. I know what i like in a Screenshot. I like when someone puts it all together. I like the WB, the Dock, The WP, The Icons and Widgets (or whatever these objects, gadgets blahh blahh are now called) to relate to the Blind and various components in a creative way. What was the original artist of the WB thinking? Sometimes the screenshot will show something about the Blind that the creator of the Blind didn't see or think about. I was using the Beta of 1.9.2 but the account I was using got messed up so it was deleted and I got rid of Aston as well. I used Aston before I used WB's on my old win98 computer. It's great! Yes and Kudos to Brad for putting this on. I am a connvert to WB's now mainly because for my money Object Desktop is the complete package. The cache can be hard to find. You have to find a folder named Stardock. You can't load OD at all? If you can why don't you try a new clean dock and see if it still crashes. It might be one of the docklets. Try eliminating them one by one. Most times I've had trouble clearing the cache solved it but as I said it can be tricky the first time finding it. You must follow Corly O's directions in order to do it. Good luck!

Does this correct the start panel not displaying correctly? There was another post about that problem. Intel on board graphics had a problem with that build -5.01d(b).008 I reverted to the previous build and all was well. At any rate I saw this post and went to Stardock Central. I've updated to 5.01e[b].009 and so far there are no problems. Ecliz Deluxe would not display the start panel half the time with 5.01d(b).008 but it seems to be OK now.

Aston replaces the explorer shell. It is quicker than explorer even on a powerful machine and very customizable. I run WB etc on one account and Aston on another. Choice is nice!

Depends on the WB, WP I'm using. Use Yahoo widgets, DX3 widgets, Rainlendar. Not necessarily all of those at one time but sometimes all. First I must have a weather widget, second a calendar. I try to have it all "fit" the WB and the WP so it's a theme. The problem I have is constantly changing my desktop, it's a compulsion. Lately I just say to hell with and use one of gefs DX themes or phoon just put out a theme for the Strafe WB which is very useful

I am so glad that that "thing" was pulled. I was mad. I am not for censorship but at the same time I have 2 kids and I know that kids frequent this site. I thought, rightly, that this site was a safe haven from "bad things". Thanks for pulling that "thing" which had nothing to do with skinning your desktop and everything to do with the person posting it trying to cause trouble. They accomplished the goal.
