3 PM EDT is 1900 UTC. Now everyone can use their zone number (+5 or -7 or whatnot) another hour and 24 minutes (give or take problems). Also, someone on the galciv chat channel is saying Steam is being cranky. don't know how true this is.
Lucky_Jack
I'm there now.
It is now 10:08 AM PDT and nothing from Steam yet.
UTC +7 is midnight Daylight Savings Time when it is 10:00 am PDT (UTC -7)
I activated my key on Steam and it didn't say "Galactic Civilizations 3" or anything like that. I'm going to assume for the moment that this is because the thing isn't technically available. But did anyone else have something like this happen?
Same here. Mine says "Steam Sub 37746".
I am wondering how long do we have to be online, before we don't have to be online with steam?
If you are asking how long it will take to down load the first Alpha build, try this formula: total code size * 8 / (your suppliers rated speed * 90% ) / 60 -

It is only midnight in Michigan (UTC - 4). I often thought it was neat to be on the early time zones of the day, but I guess this is one of the draw backs.
Since there is nothing we can do until we get our "Steam" key from StarDock, I am watching my email like a hawk. [e digicons]:time:[/e]

I work a graveyard shift job, but have Wednesday nights (into Thursday mornings) off. I'll be asleep Thursday afternoon, and have to work Thursday evening :/ Would be nifty (as in bragging rights ) to use my nocturnalist life to have first crack among my fellow Elite founders to catch the first wave of alphabugs. Kinda unlikely.

Hey, you go daddio.
It's too bad you don't have shots of GC for OS2. That would truly be nostalgic.

Go to the "Store" tab at the top. That will take you to the screen where you can buy the Elite Founder's package.
That's OK, DARCA. I have seen it happen too many times that a fan's statements were taken as a dev's commitment, so I just wanted to protect some poor unwitting fan from disappointment.
Apparently according to canon, Class 6-8 planets are the "Northern Michigan" of planet types?!? It wasn't THAT bad when I was there
When were you there? When I was there the summer was warm and pleasant (or so I was told. I worked the midnight shift and slept through it that day [e digicons][/e] ), and the winter had two separate week long stretches of -40 degree cold. Even without calculating wind chill into it.
The Ultimate Edition includes DL and both expansions. You can even play DL (or DA), instead of TotA, by using the GalCiv2.exe in the main game-folder (or the GC2DarkAvatar.exe in the DarkAvatar subfolder). The folder you referred to earlier contains the data for DL. The correct folder for TotA would have been C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Galactic Civilizations II - Ultimate Edition\Twilight\Data\English.
<
