OK. I see the filter and have set it to my favorite genre (strategy), but I still fail to see a distinction between turn based and real time.

After three years and some name changes in this function (now called "impulse"), I find it curious that I am finding the same problem.
There are a number of usability problems with scroll bars and twirl buttons (or what looks like they should be twirl buttons) that I would like to see addressed. Scroll bar action is inconsistant, both within the game and when compared to the defacto standard of operation across general applications. The normal behavior for a list many times larger than the viewable area of the list with a scroll bar outside GCII is that when you click on the scroll bar "background" (the space within t
Level 0.81 was made available sometime last night and is the latest (last?) beta level available. If you see the option "council" on the top left side of this forum's screen and do NOT see level 0.90(b).013 or later under "games" in SDC, then make sure you have the setting for the beta levels of SDC checked (tools->settings->general -- third button from the top under the heading "auto update").
Found the "announcement". Gamma is a 0.90 level. The one I just downloaded is a 0.81(b).006.
Is this gamma? I have not yet seen any anouncements that it was.
Still happens on 0.81(b).006
Still happens on 0.81(b).006. I entered them on the start up panels for a new game but they did not get used for the game. Also, the entered values did not get saved in teh prefs.ini file in the "my games\gc2" folder.
Still happens on update 0.81(b).006. Is this Beta 5a?
I haven't tried a complete uninstall/install, but the intro looks impressive --- except --- When loaded in windowed mode and a custom screen size (I used 1237*1140) it breaks up into chunks that move forward in their frames independantly, giving a very broken up appearance. I tried to get a snap shot, but the result was to skip the remainder of the intro. The frame rates were in the 20s to 30s. When I started the game in fullscreen mode, the intro was smooth for the most part, with on
Let's see now. The game goes to retail stores sometime late February. Publishing and shipping takes what? About a month? A gamma is scheduled for when? And for how long? Time is getting very short. If you have bugs or issues to post, don't forget that the Stardock folks need time to diagnose and fix them. So if you have been hoarding those problems away instead of posting them, your chance to get them fixed is growing VERY short.
I got an answer from Stardock. This is a bug and they have it fixed.
Which brings up another problem. How do you upgrade a ship that is in orbit. I have not been able to find a window with an "upgrade" other for not in orbit.
Fuels chief, it is always better to ask about something you observe that doesn't look (or sound) like you thnk it should. You may point out a problem with how the game uses a particular piece of hardware, or you may get assistance in diagnosing a problem with your hardware. The support from StarDock is much better than most other game producers that way.
Did you colonize another planet, causing your shipt to fall in range Yes. If I understand you correctly, it sounds like you don't understand why, when you attempt to upgrade one of your vessels that it outside your e
I have seen this as well. And the custom ships are also quite useless. They have no offense or defense once they are built. That is, until you have researched the techs the designs are base upon.
It fades when another track is supposed to play, but it often doesn't come back up to the set volume. Sometimes it fades out entirely and stays that way. Also, if you get an autosave and research completion at the same time, sometimes the background and research completion music plays at the same time throughout the game save (30-50 seconds).
No it wasn't my flag ship. I had designed my own survey ships and built them. Then I upgraded their engines. Those that were out of range had the problem.
I upgraded a survey ship that was out of range, and it is taking forever to upgrade. Even now that it is within range, the time to upgrade has not changed. Also, when sooming out to tactical mode, the ship does not change to its tactical icon. Snap shot sent to Scott.
the components that swicth direction are available in the latest beta (beta 5). Where is this switch? I can't find it and some engines are going on backwards on my ships too. I am on Beta 5 (0.80a).
1) Colony maint is now up front. 2) It has been reduced since your version Good to hear, and thanks. While the cost of establishing a new colony may be a help for those that don't like the "planet rush" at the beginning of a game (esp. on a gigantic galaxy), the 25BC each that it was costing seemed to me to be a severe penalty for liking to
Entire star Systems are showing up in the FoW for no apparent reason... I've never seen that on the main map, just on the mini-map, where stars are always supposed to show through the unexplored mask and after researching the tech "stellar cartography" planets are supposed to show through the unexplored mask.
Is that all that was in your debug file? The DXDiag info should be followed by a line "Debug Message: *********END dxdiag info.********* " DXDiag is part of the OS, not GC2. Did you even get the first setup screen? Why do the specs say the monitor has a max resolution of 640*480? GC2 requires 1024*768 minimum. After resolving the above, Try -- --- Use GCConfig (in folder gc2\gcconfig) to start gc2 - set windowed mode and select a screen size. Use a size
I remember a post somewhere (can't find it) that said the .net address was no longer to be used.
If you are trying to send in a bug report for GC2 you might try [email protected]
