And it was in GC1. I would find it very strange if we don't see it in Beta 4.

I like the completion list GC1 had better than the dropdowns. I have had times when I had more dropdowns than room for them, and I like to scroll through them to see what has happened. I find that the way they dissappear before I am ready for them to be gone is vexing. Sometimes I need to keep that notification, even if I have already used it to examine the completion event more closely.
I think what you are talking about is a tuning issue, slated for Beta 4.
Some of the pre-designed ships are gone too. Such as the transport.
This problem persists on buld 0.31 (beta 3a).
Have you tried https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=85593 ???
The background music for when you are at war does not start for several turns. Then it only plays once, starting during the next turn processing.
Don't forget the GC2 folder in "my games".
There is at least one inconsistancy in the sorting of entries between types of list. I have the ship list in "ship building" mode and my "Fighter G.S Mk 1" entries come before "Fighter b.pa Mk 1" (note the lower case b.pa) and a Quick Build List for ships where my "Figher b.pa Mk 1" comes before "Figher G.S Mk 1". Obviously one of them is sorted without consideration to case, the other sort is case sensitive. I find this creates confusion when I am trying to use the QBL. IMO sorts for these list
Take a look at this thread: https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=85593
i realised somting if we all do a complete uninstall IE:Cleanslate and do a complete installation we are a lot less likly to get CTDs and stuff If done when warrented, yes. Otherwise it eliminates a very important test of the product --- success in delivering an upgrade.
This sounds a lot like post https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=85400 It looks like this bug affects more than just the star port upgrade. I found the same thing with factories.
You may wish to look at post https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=85471 At least, it is worth a try until the developers return. (Tomorrow is Labor Day, so I wouldn't expect them until Tuesday.)
I think this problem also ties in with the CTD I had yesterday. See post https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=85471 ... The uninstall/install I did after that problem was the only way I was able to get going again.
PC and PCM, Have you tried a complete uninstall/install yet? You may wish to look at my post at https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=85593 ..
Alorial, A few of us are seeing problems from corrupted files that might be due to a problem with the Beta 3A update. It has been suggested to me that perhaps (hopefully) the full install package may be different. At lease, a full uninstall/install worked for me. If you do this, make sure you delete the saved game file after using SDC to uninstall GC2. See my post at : https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=85593 And good luck. Tomorrow is Labor day and it
Did you get anything from SmartException?
It seems the QBL insists that the planet be selected before clicking on the ship project (an extra, unnecessary step IMO). After changing the ship being built, it then returns to the top of the planet list, which is a usability/playability problem.
I haven't quite gotten to the point of advocating that everyone do an uninstall/install yet. So far the only affect I have found for sure is in the color selection for boarders and outlines. However this one artifact seems to be the cause of many observations that look like other problems, such as missing social improvement options, inability to advance beyond colonization events, etc.. My suggestion at this point is if you are plagued by problems that might be caused by this and hav
After a complete uninstall/reinstall all of a sudden the scroll bar for the list of available social improvements is showing up. The list only uses about half the space available (Cari or Scott, is there something else planned for the lower half of this area? Or is this a bug?). This raises the question, could the mining option (which was on the bottom of my list) have been outside the viewing area for the list? Watch here for the results of further testing. (I have not yet gotten the mining and
They are back. I can see the ships of the other races on the main view through the FOW. There seems to be some delay or other event involved with when they appear. I have reloaded this game from the desktop and a saved game more than once.
Update; not all accelerator keys fail at the same time. It seems to be one or more at any one time. This problem continues after a complete uninstall/install.
Much of the color selection for outlines, such as scroll bars, button pads (such as camera view controls), highlight selection, etc. seem to have been corrupted by upgrading from Beta 2 to Beta 3. The color that resulted was a very dim olive color that was very hard to see. The color after the uninstall/install is now a proper cyan.
It still happens after a complete uninstall/install, and also happens with scouts. I am led to believe it will happen to all ships.
This still happens after a complete uninstall/install. all of the ships in the view EXCEPT MINE move I realize now what I was seeing here. When the game is saved, the other races have not yet had their turn. So of course, their ships moved.
