I think Chad wants to know how to make a DX object open a Windows search window. The kind you see when you click the Search icon on the XP start menu. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer.

You can always alter any skin for any program as long as it's for personal use. You only need permission to upload the actual skin you have ported.
Styl skinner: What version of Photoshop are you using? Have you tried using the bevel effect in the built in layer styles?

WindowBlinds and other skins are moderated, but not in the same way as wallpapers. We watch for rips, unauthorized ports, copyright infringements, and objectionable content, but they are not moderated for style or appearance. This is a skin site, afterall. It is not a wallpaper site, however, which is why that section is moderated so closely. In my opinion, this policy change will leave more time for us to moderate skin submissions, and that's good news for all contributors to Wincustomize.
@ werewolf There is also a checkbox in the WindowBlinds Advanced Configuration that allows you to disable skin sounds.
Lecrayon, there are two places you might want to check. If you click the Advanced button on the Appearance tab, there is a checkbox labeled 'Always use shellstyles defined in ...' The old blue one could be selected in there. The other place to look is in the WindowBlinds Advanced Configuration. Click on the WindowBlinds button on the Appearance tab, and go to the Settings section. Near the bottom of the options, make sure 'Use Windows XP style explorer bars' is checked. I had that one t
^^Gabriel, that's if you only buy WindowBlinds.
Oh my, Russ! That's a beautiful new look. You'll get nothing but compliments from me, so I'll spare you. As for the splash screen, I tend to avoid them unless there is particular information I want to get across before people enter the site. It really looks great though. You always inspire me to try harder. <img src="http://images.s
Unfortunately, you cannot change it without effecting other elements of Windows. In SkinStudio, it is under the Colours section. The attribute is Background - Window. As the name implies, it effects all window backgrounds as well as form fields.
Got it, Styl skinner. Thanks for the heads up.
Actually, the 88 refers to the number of downloads the previous day, divided by 10 (to save text space). But it is fun to hop into the waaay back machine.
Also, those who are uploading WindowBlinds skins should note that there is now a ShellStyle Support checkbox on the upload page. The few skins so far that support it have been manually marked as such.
kthxbye: you have good taste. I had about 130 on my machine before I reinstalled Windows a month ago. Now I have around 25. I don't think the number of skins installed can slow down WindowBlinds, but it may make Display Properties open a little slower, since it has to build the list of skins to show on the Appearance tab. <
Only the best of the best wallpapers are accepted here to keep WinCustomize from becoming just another wallpaper site. Many people submit a dozen or more before they come up with something exceptional. I'm sure some of the wallpaper artists here can elaborate. As for skins, you simply can't take graphics that belong to someone else and upload them without permission. Try making a skin based on your own graphics rather than a game. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?
I agree with Delicious. Check in your Colours section, under 3D Controls. I think this color is Button - Light. In your SkinStudio preview window, you will see this color is on the top edge of the classic taskbar. It refers to the light edge of any 3d object that is not skinned with an image. I hope that helps. <img src="http://ima

Just put a shortcut to ObjectDock in the Startup folder in your start menu. That will do it.
*POOF* You're an Age of Mythology theme! Sorry, I couldn't resist.

This time of year my hobbies include shoveling snow off my roof, shoveling snow off my driveway, and clearing snow off my car. Soon it will be Spring though, and I can get back to mowing the lawn. Other than that, you can find me drinking coffee at my computer. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" bor

It's right there in the ObjectDesktop Component Manager. I couldn't find a link to a demo or anything though.
