I knew I would get called on that. Thanks for clarifying, moshi.

DesktopX is a shell replacement, meaning it replaces your desktop with a new, highly customizable one that supports cool animations and plugins and stuff. WindowBlinds skins all of your windows, menus, buttons, etc. The two products compliment each other nicely.
This is a fun thread. Thanks for starting it Brad. C'mon migellito, my site's 3 years old. Give up a link.
I've got one, although I haven't made any significant updates in almost 3 years. One of these days I'll create a new portfolio. The existing one is by far the most outdated and embarrassing part of the site. I really need to update the pictures of my kids too. I've just been way too busy making skins to keep my site current. Plus, Flash is a major pain to make modifications to. I don't even think I
It does periodically. I'm not sure at what interval though. Once a day perhaps.
Hi AwSehme, Favorites is not skinned because Microsoft did not implement it as a menu. Instead, they made it a toolbar and then reoriented it to open like a menu. This means that WindowBlinds would skin it with the toolbar graphics and it would just look aweful. So, WindowBlinds just ignores it. P.S. I'm glad you like Interceptor. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd
Funny, jarget. I was thinking the same thing.
Moshi, you don't have to skin everything if you don't want to. Any elements you leave unskinned will simply use the Windows Classic look.
It's amazing. You won't be dissapointed.
Oh boy! This is exciting! Will there be an update to SkinStudio soon with these additions?
I use a P3 700mhz HP notebook with only 128MB RAM and a lousy 12MB of onboard video. It has a crisp 15" screen though. Anyway, I run WB and WFX2 together on it non-stop. Sometimes I even throw DesktopX in the mix too. It never bogs down. Although, I wish I had a better video adapter for all the goodies in WFX2.
Doreen: I have one PB skin here that uses no plugins. It may not be your style, but the OK button should work fine. https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=5&SkinID=28 jarget: Have you uploaded any PB skins here? I'd love to see them. Sometimes I think I'm the only one making skins for PocketBlinds.
The ok/close buttons, like the clock, are plugins, which are disabled in this build. Hint: you can say OK to a window by pushing the action button on your device. The advanced options are not functional yet. Tool button skinning is new beginning with this build. Skins that do not supply a bitmap for tool buttons will default to using the regular button image, which may not look ideal.
Try putting a forward slash "/" in front of "me", Griffinme. /me offers an example.
Universe Metal is well worth it, vimalkumar. You should also pick up the Logika suite while your at it.
I think any member can post news items, alexbratu. Feel free to contribute something relevant.
Also, remember that this message board is not an official Stardock support channel. While it is perfect for soliciting help from your fellow users, you should email [email protected] if you wish to have an issue addressed directly. Just a tip.
Hehe, that's a great icon!
Congrats Treetog! I know it was your support that put Brazil over the top! Good thing you don't need your voice to communicate here.
Well, it's not really a new public release. It's primarily for testing. Plugins are disabled at the moment and other things may not work perfectly either. Also, this build does not include a setup routine and there are instructions for installing it that must be followed carefully. If you're a skin designer and want to prepare skins for the next public release, then consider yourself warned and try it out. If you are a user just looking for a new build, you should wait until a real public releas
Mine works fine now. I didn't change anything though. Maybe something was corrupted with the site updates I download last night.
Me too, except mine ran fine on XP for a day or so, but last night it started crashing. As soon as I click on a skin name, the program just vanishes. There is no alert window or anything, it just disappears from the desktop and taskbar without a trace.
Sad news indeed. Our local classic rock station played hours of live Who last night. I also heard this morning that Entwhistle pioneered the rock bass solo, a fact I was unaware of.
Window frames do not support it, but most other elements allow you to use Targa files with an alpha channel.
The Fix Thumbnails button only appears on your own skins. It allows you to update the screenshot of your skin, I believe.
