Very strange. We've been keeping close tabs on everything and aside from the occassional issue, things have been running pretty well (though this weekend was problematic at times). If you haven't already, you may want to try flushing your browser's cache to see if that helps. Try running a traceroute to the site as well to see if there are any hops down between you and us, since that'll always muck up the works getting anywhere. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Mad.gif" border=0 A

Well, visually I'm really impressed, though you can only tell so much from static images. I agree with Zoomba's point on units being obscured, so it'll be interesting to see how that's handled.
GameStop and Electronics Boutique have announced that the two companies have signed a merger agreement today. The combined company, which will be called GameStop, Corp., is expected to have annual revenues of $3.8 billion with over 3,200 stores worldwide. The two companies said that they're taking this move in order to better compete in the global market. The merger must receive unanimous approval from both companies boards before it can move forward.<
Is this still happening for you?
Bucking the trend of the others here, I prefer ATI (and I'm a gamer). ATI hasn't had major driver problems for quite awhile now and I find their graphic quality superior to NVIDIA's (though recent driver updates from NVIDIA have helped here). Plus if you use stuff like Windows FX, ATI's drivers will actually make things run properly since their 2D support is better.
Hi azek01, Our records only show you as having an Object Desktop subscription, not a TotalGaming.net subscription, though you have purchased GalCiv 1. If you think this isn't correct, please email [email protected] so we can look into things further. Thanks.
Even stranger is that I can see your skins, Dezin (from your page). They've got downloads and comments with them, so they couldn't have been rejected by moderation. Can you still not see them?
I wanted to test them too, but on a serious note, the appeal of console development is inescapable.
Yup, this is a known bug. The dialog isn't appearing at the top, but the bottom.
Moon bases or mining would be really cool.
Well, it's been no secret that the gaming industry as a whole wants to be thought of like Hollywood. We've got more game tie-ins with movies and games becoming movies than ever before. The net result is that by and large it's total garbage with few exceptions (i.e., either the movie tanks and the game is good; the movie's good and the game's terrible; or they both suck). If the intended result is failure - mission accomplished! <img src="http://images.
Good comments all around from a well written post. Obviously we (Stardock) feel that copy protection is more of a hindrance than an aid, which is why TotalGaming doesn't use any uber-restrictive DRM. As for 500MHz PCs - Al H. , don't despair on PC gaming! There are a lot of very good indie releases out there (some of which will be on TotalGam
Yes, I think it takes some time to migrate through the various servers.
Greetings everyone, I'm pleased to announce that build 0.12 of the Galactic Civilizations II BETA has been released. This will be the last release for BETA 1. There have been a number of changes since the last build, including: Loading save games now works. Please note that old save games will not work and should be deleted. Planet improvements are now displayed in the build list. A GC Config applet was added. New moon and ring graphics were added. <
Greetings all! With beta build 0.12 we've included a little applet called GCConfig (in the /GalCiv 2/GCConfig/ directory). This program will allow you to set your screen resolution, windowed mode/window size, anti-aliasing and more from outside the game. Just run the GCConfig.exe to launch the applet, make your changes, then exit. :)
Happy Birthday!
Hi gang - I've noted this down to look into, but I believe there's work being done behind the scenes to improve the process overall, so that may be what's going on.

There has been a notable decline in the PC gaming industry in recent years, with flat or declining sales reported from many publishers/developers. In response, many developers have announced plans to abandon or scale back their work on the PC, instead opting for the more lucrative console market (like it or not, games are a business). As a former gaming journalist, this came as no surprise to me at the time, but what is becoming alarming is that practically nothing has been done about the proble
Hi all - This is something we're looking into for you. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
Well, my Dell escapades have been well documented both online and in newspapers around the country from a few years ago. I bought a Dell laptop and it was a trying experience because the thing kept locking up after a couple minutes. The support people - still in the U.S. at the time - were very nice, but the techs actually working on the machine were clueless. One called me up to ask me some questions and he wasn't even using the installed OS, but a DO
Also, if you're having major issues with Spyware all the time, try installing the beta of Microsoft's Anti-Spyware . It's free and seems to work pretty well. I'm not sure if it'll get rid of the filth you've already got, but it should help prevent new stuff from appearing.
Did you try moving the camera around on the main gameplay screen using the mouse? You have to do it for a few seconds sometimes before it works.
Yup, we know about the loading bug; it's on the fix list. Don't worry about the error report that Windows pops-up. What we're looking for is the data from SmartException and the debug.err file that appears in the GalCiv 2 directory.
As we work toward building up the TotalGaming community, we plan to start offering some PC gaming news to our forum readers. So everyone will start seeing the occasional gaming news tidbit here in the News forum. Getting things underway is iTZKooPA who will be making news posts as time allows. Enjoy!
