I've played a demo of Reach for the Stars - it was pretty cool till I found Galciv, then SE IV. Since I've been playing SEIV, I pretty much have neglected GC right now. I still plan on playing though.
Astorax
They'll just go around anything they can't go through.
Erm, it kept saying "Error Processing Page" so I just kept trying to submit my message ...oh well.
It will survey the anomalies it uncovered first. If it uncovered one (on manual) way across the galaxy, and some other Alien's survey or whatever ship uncovers another one sector from your homeworld, it still will go across the galaxy to explore the first one it uncovered, then in proceeding order of finding. Only way to stop this is to either control it manually, or build another survey ship.

Cool! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :HOT:
http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/ Thats the only Encyclopedia I (and prolly most other GalCivers) ever use. Heh. JavaScout is Awesome. [Message Edited]
Get the Saints and Sinners Mod. Its in the Files Library I believe.
Upgrade your SB's with defense modules ..that 4 defense isn't gonna stand up to much abuse, especially with just 20 hitpoints and no way to repair it. Or, just keep whittling away at them with your best ships ..they can't repair I don't think, so eventually you will kill them ..then just disband whatever military you want to to save on maintenance.
For me as well, but then I use IE.
Re question #4: when you click on a tech and it appears in the bottom left pane, if you, for whatever reason, decide against sending that tech, just doubleclick it - it should disappear from the bottom left pane and go back to your normal tech list. I myself just purchased the Deluxe Edition and I can tell you now: No, it isn't fully updated. Download Stardock Central or visit www.stardock.com to get the updates. (I would recommend downloading and installing the Stardock Central prog, m
Research, Inc Pol Party starts with a 5% pq bonus which ups the pq by 1, right? well if I chose (from my starting picks) an extra 5% would it up it 2?
Hey Chronus, as to your first problem I don't have a clue - as to the second problem - whats the problem?? LOL! :D :HOT:
Oh btw, high influence does help you culture flip too - I was using that but decided to go +60diplo/+1trade route ..and something else, I forget. Morale I think.
What I was saying wasn't viable is building no military at all - I thought at MASO you had to atleast have some petty ships as SOME deterrent. Am I wrong in this? I've not been even building a defender much less battleships (even though sometimes I get that tech first by trading for techs with the minors that are in the requirement tree). 5th game submitted!! (should have been the 6th but I think it overwrote that EndGameSave with another).
Me either Martin. I put about 100 million on the colony ships, but thats all a matter of choice really ..later in the game if you find a 14+ world somewheres you may have the extra pop to spare.
Cool - I just got it from Neotech, heh. I wanna make a Political Party that doesn't have such Huge Negatives to my Ships. I can live without some bonuses, but sometimes I just wanna attack! Heck, even -50% would be better :notsure:
I won't even touch a planet unless its pq14+ ..my +5% pq bonus jacks the 14's to a 16 after your basic soil enhancement. I can't even imagine the added expense of a pq9 ..!!!! SE+HI=pq11?? Not. I'd just use a SB to extend the range (if thats what you were using the pq9's for). ...wow, I actually sounded like I knew wth I was talking about there for a moment, heh.
If you get the Event where the UP sets up a Galactic Prison and you get it, plan on them busting out and having three Battle Cruisers ...least thats what happened to me, heh. And they don't care who or what they attack, they want to kill everything, even itty bitty mini-freighters, SB's, etc.
Wow DF, thats sucking half your population everytime you build a colony ship then!! Great start for your colony but it just cut your production/economy in half too probably, heh.
9 SB's?!? ack! I've never had to use more than 2 ..well for single planets ..takes more if they have multiple planets nearby. I've figured out my problem though, I don't know what to research to get what I want half the time! I just wander around the tech tree researching this or that instead of having a coherent strategy about it. Oh and I hardly ever build ANY military ...I start trading with them as soon as I meet them and keep them at friendly/close while I try to culturally assim
Where do I get this from? I looked in the Library, but can't seem to find it.
Its not ON the jewel case, its on the back of the manual thats inside the jewel case.
