I'm a wee bit confused, sir codemaster. In Vista, video dreams just clone to the secondary monitor and it seems as though dynamic dreams (tested with the Updated Ovals) do precisely the same. Yet, you mention that the new Winter Snow works differently with multiple monitors in your description of that. So is the nature of the multiple monitors support now code/coder dependant, or am I missing something between the descriptions? And I guess I'd also like to ask

Hey Starkers, will you check something on your Vista 64 box? It should not break anything, but I'd be interested in seeing if this fixes the "problem" you are experiencing. Go to Control Panel/System/Advanced System Settings/Settings/Data Execution Prevention At the bottom of that panel it should say "Your computer's processor supports hardware DEP." Vista 64 automatically turns the OS/SOFTWARE DEP algorithms on - and this is in addition to the built in DEP
Outside of getting rid of OEM crapware (the HP garbage mentioned above should ALWAYS be forcibly removed) I would recommend people ignore hacks like vlite. Almost everything it tries to remove or turn off is there for a VERY legitimate reason. Instead, I would recommend that you add more RAM to your system ("RAM is cheaper than therapy") or just wait for SP2 in a month or two if you don't have any spare cash. Note that this new dream seems to say that there is some multiple monitor support on XP for the new DS v2.5. And this thread confirms it. It doesn't give us details what we can and cannot do, so it might only be for dynamic dreams support.
These answers are based on VISTA DeskScape 2.0 use. Everything might change with this new version (hope, hope). 1) Mirrors the video playing on your primary to your secondary monitor. 2) Not on Vista, but if you were using dualview/spanned in XP I would think it wouldn't stretch but you MIGHT be able to play a double-wide video if you created one. 3) Nope. Nope. Nope. Not on Vista you can't. Would suspect XP is the same.<

Starkers, I have found the same thing on my quad core Vista 64 box, but I have everything from Dreams running in the background to 8 custom coded slideshow sidebar gadgets running (I tweaked the MS javascript to allow me to have larger, borderless pictures, hehe), so I'm not the best test case for CPU use. For you Firefox users, there is a new theme that "Aero Glasses" Firefox for Vista users. I found it works really well but there are a few caveats. The first is that it assumes you are using the default Aero skin/theme. I'm using Windowblinds, and the Wraith skin happens to work really well with it, but you might want to use the WindowBlinds option to choose a custom skin just for Firefox and pick something that matches the default Aero closely.
