Also for those those of Us, that are getting up in years and getting kind of Fogeyish, here's a site to keep up on the Vernacular. According to my 17 year, old Daughter it's pretty accurate and on the mark as far as slang goes. PS... Do not listen to lyrics of your childs music, without an open mind when it comes to the slang, and meaning in todays rap/ style song. Not unless you want to do alot of parental censorship. My daughter actually hates my taste in music, because it is so varied, that s

This site has nothing to do woth skinning. It's all about Science Fiction. It's a very, no nonsemse type of page but jamb, packed with information. A history of the genre if you will. Pop over and enjoy. http://www.magicdragon.com/UltimateSF/SF-Index.html The Ultimate Science Fiction Web Guide
I live near Chester SC. So don't feel discouraged. I used to work in Charlotte, at a OutSourcing Support Center for Adobe ( I was top tier for FrameMaker 1-6.) When I worked there with other (supposedly) computer Geeks, I was the only one that was modd'ing anything. I actually had to bring in my own stuff to mod my machine @ work. I had to add my own sound card and additiona network card, and whatnot to get the machine I was assigned to do what I wanted. The Administrators there, had a dual
I am purely a functional man, when it comes to my machines (Normaly that is.) My laptop is about the prettiest machine I have, and it is trapped on My Desktop in a docking Station 99.9% of the time it is on. My other machines are FrankenPuters, trapped under my desk (cases open, bazillion fans and drives everywhere.) Now that that is said, I just wanted to share a Mod... (stolen from SlashDot.org) I mean just cause I got a ton of crap boxen, does not leave one to construe that I cannot appre
That's nice music.
You are preaching to the Quior. I used to blow out folk's machines and do reinstalls and custom loading for people, and Setup thier machines Optimized and then do a Bootable Image to CD's and they would get miffed, for many different stupid reasons. I like to work on the machines here at the house. If I can get it brought here easily. (Just the Tower mind you.) I like to get as much information from the User as posible. (Most are clueless when it comes to their Information, till it's been delete
I just had to reload my OS, on my notebook. My shit went absolutely Banannas'! Damn thing, acted like it had a mind of it's own, and my image was stable, before I upgraded WB. Next thing I know Kabloowie. Damn Screen went to flickering, and stuff started wigging out, like crazy. I thought my Machine was going to blow up! Rebooted with my ghost floppies, and reloaded my image and now it's back to normal. It was totally freaking weird. This Laptop is barely 4 months old. Freaked me out. Scared
Even with the functionality of WinXP Service PAck 2, and it's PopUp Blocking Software, not all of US use IE. Every Machine in my home uses Firefox, and has Plain Mozilla also (in case someone does not like FireFox.) After the latest IE Sec Holes, we just bit the bullet around my house and switched over. Now if "NeverTrust" is not viable because of Dev time vs. potential reward, that is acceptable, but just because IE's pop up blocking seems to get the job done, then a very big niche is being ign
Helen I am so sorry to hear this. I just want you to know,I understand what you are going through. My Mother passed away on the second day of spring from Cancer as well. I helped her go through Chemo for 2 years, and ran her business with her until she couldn't participate anymore. I offer my condolences. If you participated during Chemo, as I suspect you did, then you will have been under alot of stress as his disease progressed. Depending on how much Hospice help you had, the stress's probably
It depends on whether the proram was installed as available to all users of a PC, Maybe? I know some software ask that question, during install. If you chose only to allow access via your profile, then you'll have to install it, and just make sure it goes into the same directrory, to avoid, multiple install locations and wasted disk space. When ever I build a dual boot machine I always do something similar. I install each, app to a neutral third partition, and then load each OS's programs to
They did an episode of Sliders about this subject I think. Times' Arrow Earth aka As Time Goes By The most remarkable thing about this Earth is that time here seems to flow backwards. Moment by moment, everything seems to be fine, but when a "discontinuity" in time occurs, visitors to this world will find themselves moved to a point in the past. The natives of this Earth do not perceive time to be moving backwards at all from their point of view the Sliders have knowledge of th
I must agree, DeviantArt is a beautiful site, and very functional to boot. I love the way they do thier previews, to artwork. The shadowed thumbnails, actual give the feeling the site has Depth, or should I say add to the Sites' Depth. They also have a well developed User base, commentors and whatnot. It has steadily improved over the years, and once the site was revamped it sprouted like a well groomed, and nurished orchid. They were very good to The SkinZ.org Crowd, when we were homeless, and
I will test it ona virtual Pc first. I have been won over to them now. Is my latest testing tool. I love to find something like that and run with it as far as I can... to the nth degree.
That is going to be a mad rush, when it does release. Or maybe not. Alot of pirated WindowsXP out there, and alot of folk running scared because it will neuter their Windows Updates. Guess we'll see the fallout as it happens. Blow by blow. Glad stardock is working to ensure that OD stays stable. Now as to all those other pesky applications people want to run... Kablewie! Guess MS couldn't go wrong offering it on CD. I think game manufacturers should include something like that on thi

Here's the problem I am having with Windowblinds 4.38b[d], no real resolution from the Newsgroups and no response from support, other than the automated response. I have tested this against a Virtual PC, using 4.30.026 and it works fine. That is my benchmarker and comparison tool. You can get a free trial of Virtual PC 2004 from Microsoft, and once you create a Virtual PC, copy the file to another location, then just use copies of the original to make changes, and whenyou are done tinkering just
Sorry for the rambling. The real culprit in my book, are the many instances of things running under svchost.exe. Now you have to be a rocket scientist to ascertain what is going on in there. I mean crap just go into Admin Tools / services and try to wrangle those out. MS sticks a warning in the desriptions similar to "Beyond there be Dragons!" or might as well be everything has this might cause XXX to stop responding and XXX usually means Explorer, Since the slightest things can crash Explorer,
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't add and remove an applet spawned by explorer via rundl32? In order to replace the functionality you will have to actually replace the function, via another program like Uninstaller 2003, or some other type of application. I think you will find that for every applet that is wanted to be replaced that you will have to find it's analog via a Windows software Vendor. Once you start doing this then I think the list can get quite repetative. Explorer is tied in t

This is just the wrong thread to post, whilst I am in the middle of a Carl Sagan (Cosmos) Marathon. I tried to warn ya.

To borrow from Wikipedia (One of my Faves BTW.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page Wikipedia Theosophy A stricter definition from the Concise Oxford Dictionary describes theosophy as "any of various philosophies professing to achieve a knowledge of God by spiritual ecstasy, direct intuition, or special individual relations, esp.
PowerDesk Pro is good, as is the FreeWare version. Don't forget Novatix Explorer Plus. http://www.novatix.com/Products/ExplorerPlus/FreeEval.asp Just a note, PowerDesk Pro 5 has been around for several years, so it is relatively stable. I bought it back when it belonged to another company, and was version 4, along with zipMagic.
He should have been around in the Community Skins Day, speaking of Community, and getting peoples' best out of something. Heavy Equipment was one Hell of a suite.

Unfortunately, the anger is sometimes for being corp politically inept. But I still do not like Media Player, do not get me wrong... Love the skinning of it. It is beautiful some of the work that is done for it. I've always been a Dummy when it comes to Office niceties, politically. Great Worker and Gung Ho, but Dumb as a Rock, to schmoozing. HAHA!!
