I hate windows Media Player, with unmitigated passion. It hijacks all your media extension, defaults to licenses to media files, unless you go and disable them. If you assign another Media Player to take over and extension, it will not f*&%ing let go unless you manually go into the file types box and uncheck them, totally negating the "open with" overide context menu. Not to mention the less than par, mp3 conversion rate. All this crap and then the skinning is pandered as a sugar coating

I have Used Norton Ghost for at least 5 or 6 years, and it has consistantly been a performer. I do a base install of all my apps, and Image the Drive, and when I need to restore, I just pull the Image from an Acorn 55GB USB/1394 2 drive.Average Restore time 3 - 4 minutes, with a 3 GB compressed Image. you can set it up to Incrementalize Backups, but I usually manually Store, important stuff and burn them off gradually. -Once Object Edit is removed you must reassocaite the Text Files manually -to do this right click on a Text File and scroll to (open with) contect menu and then to (choose program), Now you can choose the Text editor to use that is Native to Windows XP, either Notepad or WordPad. -This will rebuild the Open file association.

Oh, BTW I also discovered that it wasn't just the ".CurXPTheme" extension, it was any combination of files up to 100 total. Anything over 99 files and the problem manifested.

OK, I know this is going to sound strange, but I removed Object Edit, and it seems to have cured the problem. I tested it using the same steps as above and the problem is resolved. Just to be sure I deleted the archived copy of the app and redownloaded it, and reinstalled. Once it was reinstalled, the problem came back, take it away and no more "de boom de gasser go crashed!" So now I am going back to de Berry Munch'in and hope this is the lst of my problems.

Update -I have completely wiped out my System and reinstalled the OS, and then all the Stardock OD Subscription apps. -I get the same error -I am going to build some MS Virtual PC's to see if I can Incrementalize the Install of Apps, and see if I can find the lynchpin of this. Very Nice, and also of note... it is nice to see the skinning connected to a MainStream icon, Like Marvel. This is definately an avenue that can, hopefully be developed further. I mean Marvel has a great Stable of characters. Maybe other Movie tie ins, and great product cross marketing. I see Mass licensing, and Stardock Suite Cd's in Extravaganza Comic Issues? A great way to boost market exposure, and cross media possibilites.
