I really do appreciate the input, and i do not take offense, maybe it is luck, maybe its how i have it configued, but in all honest, this thing screams, and i havent even overclocked the gpu or the cpu yet, that is coming when i know exactly how to do it, reading a lot about it, i already fried an DX58SO in december a month after i bought it, so now i am doing my homework on the overclocking, i guess you would call it learning the hard way, but i love to learn, to build something that r

Well my daughter wanted my desktop, so i gave it to her (ugh) and bought the parts and built a new one, here they are 1.Antec P182 Case 2. Intel DX58SO motherboard 3. Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Processor 4. 6 gigs Corsair triple channel ram 5. GeForce GTX 260 core 216 SSC Edition Graphics card 6 Western Digital Black Caviar 1 Terabyte Hard Drive 7 Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit 8 OCZ 700 watt GameXtream power supply
Good deal on that board, i presently are using the Intel DX58SO motherboard and absolutely love it, this board is designed to be overclocked, Intel ships software with it to do just that, it is still a little steep in price though and really hasnt dropped that much since i bought it in november when it first came out
A story with a happy ending, excellent, we have 3 silky terriers, and love them all dearly, we had an american eskimo for 11 years, and she came down with this god awful disease called "Cushings Disease" but to hear your story, and a happy ending is so nice from a fellow dog lover
It is a great place to hang around, and people here are so willing to help, and quickly i might add, you get help, humor, and some fun thrown in, just a good place with really good people
I used to do it, now a couple of kids down the street do it, they make a good days pay, and i get to watch, i have done my fair share, I will tell you though, 16 year old kids have energy thats for sure, maybe i overpay them, but they look forward to it every week, and in this economy it gives them some spending cash, and teaches them some values, you work hard and you get paid well for it
How about "I like to reminisce with people i dont know" or "why do people drive on a parkway and park in a driveway"
Wow, what a debate, i like the color scheme a lot, and this egyptian theme is just a breath of fresh air, so what if there is a little this or little that, it still looks pretty darn good to me,nit picking, this is supposed to be fun
I have had problems with Norton in the past, being such a huge resource hog, then recently i guess they rewrote their code base, and released a good product, I use Norton Internet Security, and it is very very good, easy to use interface, not a resource hog at all, so my pitch is Norton Internet Security, plus when you purchase it it comes with 3 licenses, to use with 3 pcs in your household ifyou have them,
Well last october we were blessed with our first grandchild, and made an announcement here, and i was overwhelmed with all the nice responses, made us feel so good, well, our daughter who had Chloe in October, is now 7 weeks pregnant, so we have another on the way, just cant wait
Oh i love reading posts like this, always good for a laugh when you need one
I have a desktop and a laptop both running vista home premium, when i get my email on my desktop, i want the messages and info available on my laptop as well, as well as data from a few apps, Microsoft Money, and DVD Profiler (my dvd collection) what is the easiest way to keep these two things up to date, for instance at night i use the laptop in my recliner, so its back and forth for both, i have tried doing the public folders things as my home is hard wired network, any suggestions to make
I prefer to use my left sleeve, when that is used up, inside of pant leg down by the calf, good for a while
I am kinda baffled by the whole ordeal, TSF legally is right, but, its just a screenshot, if i did something similar, i would give TSF credit, and say in my screenshot, i liked this skin but customized it to my personal preference, but give everyone credit, and the alterations were for personal preference, but thats just me
Bought this one the minute i saw it, fantastic job, and looks great on my pc, keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!
Job Well done guys and gals
Hey Mick, yes we could call ourselves people, but i feel we are different than the average Joe, people here tend to be very kind, helpful and great sense of humors, in todays economy and political situations all over the world this is a good place to be and for a brief few moments lets you forget about all the bad things going on, unfortunately it seems to get worse every day, i have always considered myself as a "optimistic pessimist"
Oh i definitely agree with the "too much time on our hands" and bordering on "lunatic fringe" and "nutcases" but you know what then being this way obviously is a good thing, especially for the most part admitting we are all wack jobs LOL, but good kind and helpful wack jobs, when i posted this i knew i was guaranteed some laughter, and i got a lot more than i thought. Humor is such good medicine, being a little twisted helps now and then too!!! LOL
Thanks everyone, I have looked at the Dells, i am such a dope, i didnt know Micro Center carried Dells, oh well, but i appreciate the info you all have given, its good to ask first, especially which ones to stay away from, my last name is murphy so the "Law" applies to me here LOL, there is no question this is the best forums for any type of opinion or advice, i have asked it before, and gotten excellent advice, once again thanx guys and gals,
One of the main reasons about the traffic going into boston from the south, its just crazier and more of it, anyway, i hate to drive, especially in heavy traffic, ( i am the guy in the right lane doing the speed limit) i was involved years ago in a serious accident in heavy rush hour traffic, so the paranoia is still there, on the lighter side, i really do appreciate all your help with this, it always pays dividends asking for opinions, guess this is one of the reasons i renewed my Wincustomi
Ok so you live in boston, your called a "bostonian" you live in San Diego your called a San Diegan, so you hang out at wincustomize, are you called a Wincustomizian?? Or a Wincustomite??
yes Kryo, but i am making the trip into boston friday to buy a tv for the kitchen b4 that digital deadline comes in, anyway, i figured i am already there at MicroCenter, that is why i said friday, even though boston is only 15 miles away, traffic in this town is not good, plus i want to get it before the Sox open their season, then traffic is even worse that is kinda why i set the deadline for friday
Thanks all, my price range is between 1000 and 1500, i should have said that in my original post, i am not a gamer per se, but i do like my pc's fast, internet, some photo editing (from digital camera) plus sometimes sitting at the desk gets old, I also do databases in MSAccess, as well as Filemaker Pro, so some tend to get large
I am purchasing a laptop on friday, never owned one, i have always built my own desktops as recent as last december, anyways, which brand is the best/reliability/customer service etc, Sony,Asus,HP, or Toshiba, those are my 4 choices,
sure wish i was turning 40, guess that isnt happening for me, as i have been 39 now for 14 years
