I recently had a similar problem with something I was exporting from CorelDraw 10 - it was a button graphic, and it kept getting an extraneous white line in the middle of it. I finally determined that it was the outline, for some reason it was not exporting correctly, so I had to change the graphic to no outline and just use the fill color. Okay - similar problems, and more: It appears that DesktopX, in both builder and client mode is unable to successfully shut itself down, since exiting and restarting produces the message about corrupt desktop, etc. Same result when selecting the new option to switch modes (no surprize since it is apparently just shutting down and starting up in the new mode, or trying to). Additionally, I had some problems with some of the new widget
Apparently, it only shows that stat for your own info. Mine shows only for me. (They know who you are, and what you're doing )
Richard - I've personally never had problems with your clocks, but perhaps you would have better luck trying the newer (version 3) analog clock plugin. It doesn't require scripting and it allows you to use your own graphics for the hands. Just a thought ...

I know I can do it for shortcut files, but I can't seem to find any reference to how to with the actual exe file. Since I don't have access to a shortcut object that gets dropped, I want to create my own image based shortcut (text based is easy) but I would like to be able to default the image to the current file icon.<BR
As a developer who's recently begun playing with DesktopX, I find the inability to easily create Windows UI functionality (like a dialog where tabbing moves between controls) to be significant barrier to making a good usable object/widget. Beyond that, people developing widgets for general use should attempt to adhere to some common user interface guidelines, including consistent ways to change properties, load and unload widgets, etc. Stardo

Thomas, thanks for the suggestion. However, the .Exec method seems to be a better choice, since (at least in my system) the .Run method doesn't seem to be able to deal with paths that contain spaces. The .Exec funtion works as long as I dereference any shortcuts that are dropped. This is not bad since .CreateShortcut and then .TargetPath will give what I need.
I've been working on some DesktopX objects that involve quite a bit of scripting and I just ran into what could be a major problem for the current project (a drag and drop shortcut dockbar). Is it true that a shortcut type object doesn't expose the actual shortcut path to the script engine? The documentation for the object namespace doesn't mention this item. <B
Steve - I don't know of a way to have the object default to being toggled off (I just tried it), but you could fairly easily make a script that toggles the visibility attribute of the object you want to toggle. Then just set that object to not visble by default, and when you reload DX (or reboot) it will be gone until your script in the controller object sets it to visible. I use this a lot for dialogs and panels. If this is not clear let me
