I'm not sure if I'll renew my subscription or not. It is ultimately about supporting the site, but it would be nice if the promised features were made good on after two years. I agree with Bill, if you're not going to give us those things you said, stop using it to entice subscribers. Just tell people what the money will go towards...bandwidth. Stop promising things that you're obviously not going to give them. Whether I continue to support this site monetarily or not, I'll continue

I think you could have used a more tactful title for this post Brad. And if you don't claim objectivity, why should we think that the admins picks aren't junk as well....just junk done by certain people.
It's something Erik and I have been working on together. Animated titlebar buttons are not a problem, we can do that. We're trying to have a seperate button that animates next to the titlebar buttons that only animates when the titelbar buttons are moused over. Sput's idea of having the large transparent area idea was good, but it made the titlebar buttons non-functional. We've tried every possible way to do it, but haven't come up with anything, so we're scrapping the animation for now. <i
All contestants who win a gold, silver, or bronze also get the following:Object Desktop (or extension to access) Galactic Civilizations T-shirt (either a GUI Olympics one, a WinCustomize one, a Microsoft one, or a Stardock one Just to avoid confusion...that meant one of the following or all of the following?
Oh come on Davad70 i wasn't that hard on you for AOM was i? No, not really saying you were hard on me. Difficult to deal with, yes. I dunno exactly what it was...just having someone else tell me how to do a skin spoiled something for me. After having to redo parts of that skin so many times, I now second guess everything I make. I'
Obviously I got to the party a bit late, but after reading all seven pages, I offer the following observations. 1 Jesh is Jesh...anyone who's dealt with him at any point in the past knows he's arrogant, but often comes of even more arrogant than he actually is. 2. If there is recognition and money to be had, you can count grayhaze in. The last GUIO 2 years ago is the last time you uploaded a new skin wasn't it? In spite of your mini rant about doing it for fun and the rest
Give them some time to respond. They're good guys and hopefully will offer some solution. If not, it isn't the end of the world. I like the WB skins a lot and have already founf complimentary walls and icons, so I'll get over it. )
I agree with beesley...I already bought that pack of skins. I'd love to have the wallpapers...but not for $5 a pop.
NoFlow... A very talented .msstyle skinner attempted to port this skin after I gave him permission. He ported it, but decided to scrap it because working within the limitations of .msstyles made the skin lose too much of what made it special. No titlebar text background... No animation... No text mouseovers for titlebar buttons.. Etc... Etc... I'm glad you like the skin enough to want to try, but it's just not worth the effort.
There is someone at ThemeXP posting rips of WB skins. The only one I know for sure is one of adni's http://themexp.org/view_info.php?id=42167 There may be more that are rips, but I don't have time to go through everything right now. I've already emailed Nikos to let him know, but I wanted to let everyone know in case they want to check on their own stuff.
Unfortunately they recently split up in the middle of a tour. It seems he just took off in the middle of the tour, she tracked him down and he said he's out. Apparently she's going to find someone to replace him. He wrote the music, she wrote the lyrics, so we'll have to wait and see if it's the same with someone else.
O....k, how about I pay you the cost of the suite now, for just the WB skin.
How soon will that Lithium skin be available?
paxx hit the nail on the head...there are as many good skins as before, just way more poor ones. As for skinning WB becoming more an more time consuming...that's exactly why I quit skinning. I just couldn't keep interest in a skin long enough to finish one. When I first started skinning WB I could whip out a good quality complete skin in 2 days. At this point, for me to make a complete skin it would take me weeks. I just don't have the time or the focus to keep at one that long. I'
Happy B-Day Koop!
There is a news post explaining the three versions on the front page. https://www.wincustomize.com/newsBoard.asp?ID=1925
Moderator Doesn't really matter I guess.
Well, I don't know the coding specifics it would require, but I wouldn't think it would be that hard to set it up so that only this group could rate. I'm not proposing they have full admin access to allow them to delete posts, view peoples rating history, etc.
What about making the current "moderators" admins and selecting a larger group of people to be moderators. These people would preferably be skinners and would have no additional responsibility/authority than normal with the exception of rating and providing feedback to uploaders. If this was done it would be necessary to stress the importance of providing instruction and feedback to uploaders along with rating their work. Make sure they understand the commitment they are making and if

David....I know you know...but others might not know, you know?.... You know, you really lost me there jafo...you know?
Oh, Now I'm a journeyman that's never contributed anyting but smartass remarks. I NEVER said smartass!!! I said smart! Smart as intelligent and witty.
I'm not going to go into specifics regarding adni, but anyone who's been around here for any length of time knows that he had several issues with the way this site is run. I know that from reading here and from interaction with nikos. So maybe, just maybe the reason why peple liek Green Armoni and Lady Ashaka had such a rough time of it was their behavior towards
Being a valued contributor does not necessitate a portfolio of works, skins or otherwise, but rather an on-going interest and involvement with the community[s] as a whole Let's not get into that again. I came to my senses regarding that a long time ago. I know that socializing on message boards is indeed making a contribution.
