i vote for mr. tomatoe head
That's what I've been wondering too.
It's been pretty weird lately over there. It seems to only act funny when the day rolls over.
oops...thanks koasati. https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=4&SkinID=160
I think this skin/comments needs some admin involvment.
Obviously it's none of our business, but surely with all the time Alexandrie spends working on the site, she must be getting paid right? I hope so for her sake.
You know what I would love to see. Instead of people telling each other that the other persons way is wrong and their way is right, is to have people try to work together and solve issues instead of create them. The motto "If you do not have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all" goes along way.If you see a problem, notify us. If you have a suggestion, offer it. But don't cast blame. by Janitor T-Man - 5/21/2002 10:39:50 AM Apparently you really haven't
It's an interesting take jafo, I'll give you that. However, You'd never get those 300,00 people to actually vote, as 99% of the users/consumers here don't participate in the community aspect(message board/polls, etc.) of this site. How long has that age poll been up now? It's still only at 1100 votes. Compare that to how many visitors this site has had since the poll was posted. But....I would imagine that 99% of the skinners who frequent the site have voted.
got it now, thanks
OK, been thinking about it. Two groups?
Some good points there jafo. Especially regarding not ignoring the "needs" of any of the three groups.
Which themes/stuff are you referring to? There is a link at the top of each page in the library that will direct you to the program that you need to use that particular skin/theme.
Thread's getting kinda old, so she might not see your post. you could always email her to make sure she gets your compliment. [email protected]
I'm sure you're estimates of the percentages are pretty close T-Man. I would imagine if anyone besides Brad would know, it would be you. That said, I do have some bones to pick. Surely you're not implying that skinners should have less influence on the direction of the site than the user/consumer should??? Afterall, who provides 100% of the content that the users come here for?
You may have to end up excluding Real One from being skinned by WB. It's skinned on its own isn't it? Haven't used it much. If you need instructions on how to exclude an application, let us know and someone will tell you how.
Greg...check the other post about logons, I just posted somethign there that might help you.
Have you guys tried the newsgroups? You also might want to look through the Logons library and look for an author who's made a lot of logons. Email them and see if they can help you. There are not too many people here unwilling to help if they can. The problem is that there just aren't that many people making logons yet. If you had asked a question about WB, you'd get all the answers you need.
I was perfectly content to let this die, like many of you suggested. However, it appears that there are still some who want to see it go on. Therefore, I must remind you Professor Jafo, that there were 2 statements made regarding the prizes, both of which were very similar. You can't just pick the one that you want to use for your educational demonstration. There shouldn't be any debate regarding what Brad's intent was. When I emailed him about the prizes, he stated that yes, I should have
"Now I'm stuck trying to decide if I should beg someone to do the XP features for my current project..hehe" I'm finishing up a skin in the next few days, but my slate will be clear after that if you need some help with the Xp stuff.
It's the icon to show that you're a WC supporter, and that the post was made using the Skinbrowser.
I am happy with my Object Desktop subscription. I am happy that with most things at Wincustomize and most of it's admins. I am happy to be an alumni of the GUI Olympics. I am happy to be a member of this community.
I'm tired so this will be on a kinder, gentler note. I know that Brad is a skinner. I also know that he's done a lot for the skinning community. In the opinion of many, more so than anyone else. I know all this because although I only started making skins recently, I've been around the "scene"
I don't recall saying that there was any "bad faith" on anyone's part. Incompetence maybe, but bad faith? I dount that. Here's Kim's email though just to clarify things. Hi Dave, Actually, we ended up not sending out any physical goodies for honorable mentions this time. Sorry for the confusion. Kim I find it interesting that she didn't say...oops we forgot about that, we'll get right on it or anything to that effect. Apparently she personally just deci
