I have no issues with low ratings in and of themselves. That's assuming that there is a justifiable reason for the person giving it a low rating. As many have pointed out before, there are ratings at most, if not all the skin sites. The issue I've always had with the sytem at WC is that a low rating could make a skin virtually invisible, because skins with low ratings are hidden by default. On the other hand, there are people that abuse the system for obviously no reason by giving lo

I'm amazed and proud of myself that I've been able to stay out of this thread so far....will continue to try to stay out of it. Carry on the fight adni & carlitus!

Personally, I would rather have no ratings, but that's probably not ever going to happen. High downloads are nice in the sense that it feels good to know something that you made is being enjoyed by many. However, there are several skins which I've made that I knew would never be popular, but bring me a great deal of satisfaction in a different way.

Some good points feline. I am aware that there were non skinning memebers here that had the ability to rate skins already. I never had issues with this before because I know some of those people and know that they many of them know skinning even more than me, although they've not made any skins. There are even some non skinning members that I often give pre-release versions of my skins in order to get feedback. I still get most of my feedback from skinners. I just wonder whether it'

Yes, I understand your point completely Jafo, and appreciate the role each of us play in the "great circle of skinning". It would just be nice to know that the people rating my work has actually made a skin before. For and example I offer the following comment left by a user on my latest skin. nice, but its to simple... couldn't you put some more work into it? maybeeeee next time? by Citizen uglypanda - 6/5/2002 7:58:06 PM Obviously Mr. Uglypa

Subscribers please don't take offense to this as none is intended towards you. To me this is another mild slap to the face of skinners, who had to work for a very long time at skinning to be able to rate our "peer's" work.

I have to agree with adni, there are so many great skinners active nowadays that it would be impossible for me to choose one (or two ) . However, there are some skinners who've left the scene that I dearly miss their work...The Professor and MvH designs especially.

I don't really think this can do anything but help the situation with the msstlye "skinners". Most of them already think that WB skinners are elitists who think that our skins are too good to be ported. Of course our skins are better..because they're WB skins. There are some very good skinners there. Not many, but there are a few. IMHO arhra is the best, and he expressed interest in porting one of my skins before, so maybe he'd be interested.
