I hear ya. It's the reflection in the mirror that motivates me. I'd be thrilled to be 130, but I can handle myself until I get to a certain point and the woman staring back at me just isn't someone I ever envisioned being. It doesn't matter that other women are larger, or weigh more... it's about how *I* feel... about ME. Good luck with your new system. I hope you really enjoy and keep going back at it for more. Praying you feel better soon,

Have you read it? Twice "The meaning of prayer is that we get hold of God, not of the answer." "Get into the habit of saying, "Speak, Lord," and life will become a romance." (two of my favorite OC quotes)

I love that song, Charissa. Bethany Dillon, right? I'm with you. It's not just outward beauty, it's being beautiful inside too... the total package. Mostly I just want to know that my husband is completely captivated by me -- that as far as HE'S concerned, I'm the most beautiful woman in the world.

Maybe this would have been all right back in the 50's, we used to catch rain water to use for washing our hair because it was so soft. Really? I can't imagine! ... <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class

I was just expressing my hope that it doesn't take a tragedy for God to reveal anything to me. I hope so too. Thanks for understanding. Baker... I didn't read that as arrogant or ranting. Am I missing something?

Farmers use a LOT of chemicals that you wouldnt want to put in your mouth, from weedkillers to insecticides to solvents used to clean farm machinery. Excellent point, LW. We don't have many farms around here either, (in the mountains) but it doesn't matter. I just can't see this as being a good idea. </font

Just don't get the yellow snow. That is *NOT* a flavor you want to try. LOL... definitely. I wouldnt deliberately put snow in my mouth (unless it was an emergency) no mat

Isn't it cool when we're forced to face ourselves and realize the different stereotypes we've allowed to take root in our minds, and they're blown to bits? It's not easy to admit that we've held specific general ideas about things and that we were off base... I so admire your willingness to admit those feelings and to change them. It reminds me of our first weekend at the Shriner's hospital. I looked at some of these kids...so deformed by burns that so

A friend of mine was telling me that she makes "snow icecream." Now when I was little, I remember bringing in a dish of snow and putting maple syrup on it... but honestly, it can't have tasted that good because it's not one of my fondest memories. LOL. This recipe was different though. It consisted of mixing evaporated milk with sugar, and then adding snow

Thanks for sharing your story. I only hope that God doesn't show himself to me by having to harm and then save someone I love. I would feel more blessed if they didn't get harmed in the first place. Jill, I didn't mean to imply that I hoped you would have to face something horrible in order to come face to f

Ever look at who He choose as His tools? The lowest, the weakest, and even (often against their will, like the Pharoah, or Nebuchanezzer) the most wicked. Great point, spc.

This is coming from my perspective, and so it may or may not carry weight with anyone else. I suppose it could be considered coincidence, but I don't believe it is, and neither does the non-Christian surgeon who treated my daughter. When she was four, a candle caught the hem of her dress on fire and J suffered 3rd degree burns over 90% of her body. The only places not burned were her buttocks and her scalp. Everthing else was burned and exposed... everything. I consider it a mi

btw, I had a student show up in my class wearing his contacts for the first time...he was so proud to be wearing them, although he admitted they felt funny. They did at first. I'm getting used to them. I can only wear them for so many hours though, and then I know it's time to take them out. Funny.

Why does everyone always think of heaven as a place where people will hang on to their human forms? I'm not trying to be snotty, I'm genuinely interested. Is it because we can't think past what we have now? Because we're so accustomed to being in human bodies that it's impossible for us to concieve of it being any other way?</

HC I was going to do a blog about this because it's pretty rampant at my daughter's high school too, this type of sexual promiscuity. It's not a matter of hiding sex from kids and you can't these days anyway, it's the way they think it's ok to do and they don't even think about diseases anymore. It's very s

i still can't fathom the idea of letting things sit in your eyes, and the whole poking and prodding thing. gives me the heeby-jeebies. Eh.... you'd probably be much better at it than I am, ya young thang! <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Ta

It will get better, I promise. I've been wearing contacts for close to 15 years, and it only takes me a few seconds for me to put them in (and I don't even need a mirror!). You can be my inspiration, Tex! It is getting easier. Today it took

I am like your husband. Hey! I can see, I dont need to clean them! I don't know how you do it... blech! But hey, at least you're in good company

Have you considered the laser surgery. My husband and sister have both gotten it done and love the results. I only had to wear glasses/contacts a little while in college until I had my first baby. Pregnancy hormones fixed my nearsightedness! Ugh! Lucky you!!! Maybe I should think about........ NO! Absolutel

After wearing eyeglasses for 20+ years, I finally decided that I'd like to try contact lenses. What prompted the change? This probably will sound odd to many, but I'm a bit OC when it comes to having clean glasses. I can't stand to have any fingerprints, scratches, or even DUST on my lenses. Drives me absolutely crazy. It even drives me crazy to look at hu
