I bought a ups
Amen and way to go!! :CONGRAT: Kitty, you really unplug everything? That would take me forever.... I learned living in VA (where thunderstorms are a common occurrence) that a good surge protector can go a loooong way. This time around with the new machine I even went as far as getting a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply, like Mistralok.. 100% recommended) which not only is a surge protector but a voltage regulator and battery backup. Plus if you get so

ok.. I've double checked, maybe I should clarify the 'icons' part... I'm talking about the icons in the skin for things like the explorer windows (like the search icon). I've seen 3 (all ones made by Lasse) with them skinned so I'm guessing they CAN be, but the rest are not showing them skinned. None of the screenshots show any 'glass' features for Vista... and I still don't know about the rest as (like I said) I haven't tried MyColors to throughly go through the skins.

ok, recently Stardock has decided this... From "MyColors Replacing Premium Suites" "What does this mean for Premium Suites overall? Well, they're being replaced entirely by MyColors Themes. We've begun the process of upgrading older themes such as Omega to MyColors, upgrading the skins and icons to work under Windows Vista." So here is my question (proposed to any Stardock employee or whatever who can answer this). Just ho

Dark skins are difficult to work with. You do have to consider others when making them and that some programs will auto use black text no matter what you do.
If he were to have made the changes that were suggested and made that the main style but also left his original settings and included that as a substyle would it still be rejected?
Yes, a substyle would have made the skin go through moderation (in my experience as I'm not a mod). As long as one of the versio

The image used to be a 24bit bmp... if using an image that utilizes transparancy (png/tga) that might be the cause. I know it creates that type of effect in other areas because of that. I'm not sure if wb uses anything but the solid bmp for these yet.

I don't think that will give you the 'Luna' look Wizard, I see classic windows there (the boxy version) but not Luna and or its various versions (the silver and olive. There are some older XP looking (maybe not exactly like Luna) in the gallery for WindowBlinds, not sure how they would look on Vista. some examples.. that has to deal with your content settings.. change them (the top and bottom ones), you'll see that the stuff will move ;) **Edit** Let me explain further... Its my belief that the box and buttons are set to a specific height from the top of the bottom bar image of the start menu. If you change the content settings for the top, the box does not move but the contents in it does. maybe its the other way around... Mind you this is only my belief, but try messing with that

I've noticed this also (while creating skins) with a 'Windowframe Text background' added and it might have to do with a text override if you have one. If not it might be the text size for that particular item being skinned. You can correct that by finding the section in SKS and changing the size of the font being used.

I'm not critisizing (please don't take it that way) but I will never understand making one OS look like another when there is just so much more thats very original out there :/

The way I tested these was to add a very off color (say bright green in some instances, bright red in others, ect.) and after appling the new color never saw where the change occured on the ones I could not find (and trust me I hunted for them). Thats not to say someone else might look in a place I didn't think of or maybe I overlooked. ~shrug~
