- You can't change the default blue text in Explorer's Favorite links/ Folder area. Actually alot of programs use blue text (Skinstudio) so medium blue backgrouns often result in a text problem.
um... read this NightTrain, ya musta missed it ;) [link="https://forums.wincustomize.com/313381"]SKS6 - 'Edit Vista Part Colors'[/link] Wait, you didn't you commented on it  read it again hehe
- You can't change the default white text on the command bar b
not a problem ;) even though its not a Vista exclusive tip/trick and more a general one.
rofl.. ok I just (and I mean just) made a write up.. here: [link="https://forums.wincustomize.com/319751"]The Blur feature and effecting Shadows (A must read for WindowBlind skinners!!)[/link]
Ok so your a skinner, you make a skin with transparency and you've added a shadow to your frames and such. Now you want to add the blurring feature to your skin but you get something like this... hum... now we have a problem cause that looks like hell. But take notice, the image is square but the blur is effecting only SOME of the whole image area for that part of the frame. So whats happening here? This
You'll need to play around with the margin settings I believe IR, not a 'true fix' per say but it will correct it
Gotta love those Mac people... Apple has so filled thier heads so full of lies and advertising bs that they can't see the truth anymore. Nothing against Apple itself, its a good computer and OS but between the commercials and the 'Macnatics' (my own word, mac+fanatics) I'm not sure I could ever get back into them.
:SNIFF!: look after yourself first and foremost there lady and we all do hope to see you again someday :)
ok, applying from the (right click) Personalize (like Purrball suggested) did take out the funny striations and looks as it should now. Before was applied through the explorer window with 'Set as Desktop Background'.
From someone who has done a few Icon Packages, it takes a good 100+ icons to do a 'full set' of icons for IP. Its nearly insane if you think about it. A set with 50+ is a good set and will cover most items. But you have to also remember there are alot of programs with thier own file types and so forth that may never see the light of day on your 'average' persons computer. Its a judgment call and time consideration on the skinners part just how much they want to do.
hum.. ok so I did notice a funny 'stryation' effect to the horizontal lines on the executive wallpaper.. I took a screenshot, chopped it in 1/2 with the actual wallpaper itself. This is full sized so you'll have to enlarge it to notice, on the left is the screenshot on the right is the actual wallpaper, its divided right down the center with a red stroke. (never even noticed this before, very strange.)
I've never noticed any 'washout' or misalignment or pixelization or anything wrong for that matter on mine. Running Vista Ultimate (SP1) with an 8800 nVidia card (latest drivers) and a 24" 1080 ultraclear. I'll double check but pretty sure it has more to do with the drivers then the actual OS itself.
:) way to go you promoted folks, I see some well deserved ones up there :CONGRAT:
Nice WindowBlind, parts of it are not exactly 'my cup of tea' but good details and such :)
All looks good to me ( I digress from making a comment on the "downgrading" to Vista). A "Team Suite" competition would be awesome but also a major pain to judge and pull together. If there were such an event things like Cursors, Docks and so forth would play a roll. Maybe there could be a sort of 'side competition' as an exploratory event this year (ie. not an 'actual' event but a trial run at such). The real Olympics do that kind of thing I just can't recall what they call them. <
Also my mother in laws birthday!!
Its my nephews also :D Thanks for all the birthday wishes folks... now lets get some parties going lol

:D thanks all
either you'll have the best candles ever (the fireworks) or you'll be ignored becuase everyone is out
Well, the cities around me banned all fireworks this year because of the fire (boooooo, but understandable) and I'm never 'ignored' ;) lol Hope you all have fun too, I'll be having some right along with everyone else cause everybody parties on my B-Day hehe
:SNIFF!: Such a sad day and for such a useless meaningless purpose. As an long time member (though I didn't get around to SA as much as I would have liked) and knowing alot of the people there I feel your pain. As an Admin at Skinning.net I know just how much time and effort can go into maintaining such a community site and the bonds formed at places like SA. SA was not only a partner to us but a friend as well. Hopefully in some fashion or another we will see the site again :
perchance there-in lies the problem
lol... where is hyperdesk anyway? wasn't it supposed to launch in May?
I go to Skip's Music store in Fulton lots
heh, thats not too far at all.
As a side note the cities around here completely banned all fireworks for the fourth, even the 'safe and sane' ones and the larger firework shows
I just found out the full story on this.. the surrounding cities all followed the Gov. recommendation to ban fireworks, however Grass Valley has not and the fairgrounds will make a dicision next week on 'The Big Show'. GV's choice to
Yeah its the end of day 6 and it looked alot better today. Hopefully any new thunderstorms they say might be coming soon (like tonight and/or tomorrow) wont start more fires like the last one started these :p I'm in Grass Valley, thats about an hour up from Sac., none of the fires were threatening here but if you look at the sat. pic. you'll see I'm under that really 'whitish' section of smoke. As a side note the cities around here completely banned all fireworks for the fourth
a satellite image from 2 days ago... http://modis.gsfc.nasa.gov/gallery/images/image06252008_1km.jpg red spots are the actual fires (and are still burning)
By now maybe you have heard of the fires in California. Maybe you've even seen some pictures on the news. However you probably have not seen what exactly has been going on away from the fires. The above shots are o
