There will always be retailers who will sell a product at a loss in order to gain customers.

The 14th is the release date. The game will just be getting out of manufacturing on the 9th.
To identify whether it is a Demigod/Reactor issue is to see if the chat inside of Impulse works. If that works then there's a problem with the IRC inside of Impulse Reactor. However, if the chat inside Impulse (the client) does not work for you, then you have a router/ISP issue.
Introducing competitiviness does NOT destroy its casual friendliness. Starcraft (most competitive RTS game) has a large casual fanbase and can be played casually with ease, despite it have tournies where people can win up 100k in cash. Look at any other RTS that has been made competitive and has had money tournies, they have huge casual fanbases - RA3, CnC3 (EA putting them through to WCG and holding money tournies).
It's not well known but Stardock was contracted by Bl
Yes i took a pot shot at Frogboy...so?
And so you lost your posting priviledges. We support a free exchange of ideas. Insulting people, however, is not acceptable.

Oh I see, 37 years old...Uhmmm...well you sure don't act like a 37 year old thats for sure... QFT... Sarcasm is not the same as personal attacks. We reserve the right to ban users for violating our terms of service which includes personal attacks. That is why we rarely lock threads, we get rid of problem users instead.
What a guy. I did the same with my company. Its what people who actually create something do on hard times. So? I admire Brad for this behavior. It was the right thing to do. But being a leader actually requires him to rise above himself. Something he failed to do in this case. His ego got in the way.
You really are quite a jerk aren't you? You said that Brad would be the first in line for a bail out if his company was on the line. The
Disclaimer: I work at Stardock.
Believe me, if Brad's baby stardock, was in jeopardy, he'd be first in the bailout line.
In the late 90s, Stardock made software for OS/2. When that market collapsed, a lot of Stardock's partners filed for bankruptcy owing Stardock a lot of money. Brad, with his wife and new baby, could have just filed for bankrupcty too rather than pay the people they owed money to but now couldn't because of our partners failing to pay
Mostly The Stardock dev team had no involvement in Sins' development. I think I remember at one point Brad did say he offered some AI/code suggestions, but I don't think even he actually worked on the code.
From what I've seen is Brad worked a great deal on Sins in terms of game design. I don't think he wrote any code but the game would have been very different without B
I think SOME people around here are forgetting all the things the CEO of Skins Factory has publicly said over the past year such as how Stardock has no QA, how Stardock's artists suck, how buggy WindowBlinds is, how ugly MyColors themes are, and so on. So after almost a year of that Hyperdesk finally comes out and it turns out to be a handful of icons, a media player and an msstyle file. Hyperdesk wasn't just hyped up for a year, it tore down others while it was trying to build i
Pelosi is the typical left wing politician. She's never had a real job in her life so she has no idea how the real world works.
OBAMA's NOT
HOI or Europa Universalis are true RTS's. But like others have said, you'll have people who will be expecting to go "blow stuff up" instantly who will be shocked that you can't conquer an interstellar empire by sending your first frigate to the enemy home world and destroying its logistical underpinnings.
If you like Galactic Civi
As promised, the new beta of Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor has arrived. Beta 4C has some much requested updates including changes to minor races, Hyperion starbases for the Thalan, the map editor, and much more! Check out the change log below!
It was running on Brad's laptop. ThinkPad T60. Nothing particularly powerful.
With all respect, I'd place my security more safely with the system engineers over the graphics guys, any day. I'd advise against stardock playing with UAC, if nothing else, to distance yourself. Think about it. You alter UAC, the machine gets infected, who's fault is it? MS or Stardock? Stardock IS a software company (System engineers). How do you think Stardock is able to do things like WindowBlin
stardock made no mention in either case that it would be a premium release and cost money. you at the very least gave them no reason to assume otherwise, and honestly I don't care how you try to angle it, I think you intentionally mislead people to raise anticipation/excitment (sales?). i've been a customer for years, and defended stardock for the same time on neowin against people against any form of charging for software/themes (to illustrate im not against chargi
Gamasutra has an amazing 5 page interview with Stardock's Brad Wardell. In the interview, Brad covers everything from Xbox Live, classic PC games, Master of Magic, new Stardock games, and much more. The interview was done over the phone so it's much more conversational than the typical interview would be.
What PC game coming up are you looking forward to the most? And why? I am looking forward the new Medeval Total War 2...
This is a test of the emergency broadcast system. This is a carriage return. Did it work?
In various posts Brad (Frogboy) has said that there was no way Galactic Civilizations II could make the overall top 10 in PC games sales. The reason for that is that unlike games released by the big 5 publishers, Galactic Civilizations II would only be at major retail outlets (as opposed to every store that carries any sort of PC game). Another factor is that Galactic Civilizations II is available for direct purchase and download which aren't counted.&nbs
Gifted is probably the best "equal" or "fair" battle between human and computer. It gets just a touch of extra stuff in order to compensate with natural round off and other misc. minor errors the AI makes in its calculations.
Strategist - no, what gets people annoyed is when people make a bunch of posts on the same topic.
