No, because Demigod is p2p, all players have to have the same exact version or you will get desyncs.

Yes and no. Yes, there is a proxy in Australia but no it's not used yet as the intelligence for picking the closest proxy hasn't been published yet. :)
The patch notes are right in Impulse in the history area that specify explicitly what's new.
Well it becomes pretty clear reading through this thread that even though we live in an age where people have big download capabilities, there's still plenty of people with very limited upload. Very interesting.
Very cool.
i hope they get to fix the targetting/ability cast bug asap. This thing has got to be the most annoying in game bug for me.
They say this bug is harder to fix than it may seem like because it doesn't happen with all Demigods anymore in all situations. Do you have a really easy to reproduce scenario I can send over?
What is your Speetest.net rating? http://www.speedtest.net
I would use them as a last resort generally because they do add some latency. But we have the infrastructure to handle insane numbers of users.
Yes Finally!....nothing I still have the same issues I have had before. I can't get into a lobby, and if I do end up in a lobby, I have 0 ping to everyone except the host so the game cannot start. I can't get into pantheon as well. I also have the problem of having my internet connection reset, which is pretty annoying.
Some information about your router, ISP, and what specifically you see would be hel
Nearly all RTSs are P2P, not C/S. The host does not route the traffic.
Sounds to me like you aren't willing to stand behind your product, which is clearly broken. It was released with a large number of bugs, many of which still aren't fixed. People still can't really reliably play 4v4s and 5v5s (evidenced by the fact that you only recently dared to make pantheon 3v3.) You promised you would get these bugs fixed and its been over a month. What do people get for trying to support you and stand by you while you attempt to fix things,
well i dont get it i dont want a multiplayer only game but EVERY game in the 2009 has to be a good multi game after you play with ia try different races or avatars or whatever YOU WANT to play with friends every game actually has to tend to multi
has to have multiplayer? I suspect Brad would point to his porche and mansion and say that those things disagree with you. :)
I thought I read somewhere that Frogboy did the AI for all of them. But I suppose I'm mistaken.
Frogboy isn't involved in any coding on Demigod. His role is primarily to take a beating. :)
It's planned for today. It still has to go through QA.
You plan somewhere in the future to make Demigod a client/server game, or is just for Elemental? If yes, how much time we will have to wait? One year or more?
Just Elemental. We don't develop Demigod so we don't really have a say there. Plus, Demigod's p2p system lowers latency.
Well, I could connect to Panthenon and Custom games before last Friday's patch. Since last Friday's patch, I have been unable to connect to any online game. Just checked the latest patch - still unable to connect to any custom game (and the host was in Japan).
More data would be helpful. What happens?
Why did it take 3 weeks to fix? That implies you've fixed it. You haven't.
At this point, if you still can't connect you need to look at your ISP or your Internet set up. While an update later this week will provide proxy servers for users who can't use the game, that's not considered a "fix" but rather extra support for users who have unusually difficult Internet connections.
Rejoicing over what fanboys?! The patch out today is f00ked as all the others (more now because even some fanboys are affected and now feeling the pain). And now you're chanting because you'll have some other majical patch for their netcrap "soon"? What color are your cheeleader skirts?
Why would someone who doesn't have the game and has fake account info be spending their time here?
Not working.. I have 0 point
When you played online and earned favor points and went back, did you have more?
Guys, please treat each other with respect. Dota players and Demigod players should be friends. It pains us when people see these games as competitors when we thought part of the objective here is to help expand a fresh new genre into the gaming world. Unless Dota or Demigod players think this type of game is doomed to be a niche then why is there always so much animosity?
As some people know, we are having some difficulties inserting users into custom games. This is being worked on. However, the skirmish portion seems to be working well. If you are looking for MP this weekend, skirmish seems to be working.
Because the issue is largely with the Impulse matchmaking service facilitating the multiplayer. GPG end of things works fairly well. I don't have many, if any, issues once I get into a game. GameRanger apparently works pretty well too. I understand there are a couple of things that GPG needs to do to assist matchmaking, but I have to imagine that most of it is on Stardocks end of things.
That would be an incorrect assumption.
Let us distinguish Demigod from the NAT fascilitator which is not part of Demigod for a moment. Is Demigod finished? Absolutely. Are we happy with the state Demigod is in? Definitely. Are we happy with the performance of the NAT fascilitator? Clearly not. But the NAT fascilitator isn't part of the game. Its failings certainly impact the multiplayer aspect of the game to be sure. But a person playing Demigod could replace the NAT fascilitator with Hamachi or various other services and
Really depends on which parts of the game matter the most for you. Let's go with the worse case scenario. We still plan to work wtih GPG to release 2 free Demigods. There will still be free updates for roughly a year. And all the multiplayer stuff will be heavily enhanced because it's also used in Elemental (the next game) so Demigod would piggy back on those features. So that's your worst case scenario.
