Because of the holiday, the update won't go up until next week. However, we do want to make you aware that we have identified the crash issue some have reported in v1.1. In version 1.1, a change was made that allowed people to add skills while dead. Attempting to do this will often cause the game to crash. This has been fixed internally but has not been released.
Istari
He didn't rationalize it. He explained where the number came from and also stated that it was the same system as the old page except it lists all the servers not just 1 of them.
It helps if you read what Brad wrote, firegoesmp0w:
We are looking at having a tournament week once we’re happy with the robustness and fidelity of the stat system in the game.

Is there anyway to make the steam overlay work in demigod? Currently if i alt-tab out of game there is a chance of it crashing which ruins my game.
We are looking into this. We are not intentionally disabling the Steam overlay.
Looks like there will be an update this week. New build just got handed to QA. 1) Fixes the v1.1 crash issue. 2) Fixes favor items/achievement saving bug. 3) Random demigod fix. Other issues in a subsequent update but it was decided that these issues needed to be expedited.
What we have little use for is endless sniping from users who have no idea of what happens behind the scenes.
Bugs, suggestions, and discussion, even constructive criticism is welcomed. Name-calling, flaming, trolling are not welcomed. We have been authorized to unleash the ban hammer. :)
Well, its not like this is the only bug to make it past their QA team. Connecting was completely unacceptable at release, despite it working fine for their test team. Achievements and favor items werent stored properly at release, even though they were for the test team. And favor items still arent stored corrected even though I assume that worked for the test team. And the random demigod thing worked for the test team. I think that the obvious
Technical support has decided that the Demigod forums need tighter moderation than other Stardock forums. To that end, please read carefully: 1. The Demigod forum is not an official support venue. It is certainly not a venue to air abusive posts directed at other users, Gas Powered Games, or Stardock. 2. We reserve the right to remove any users's posting priviledges for violating our terms of service which includes personal attacks, abusive posts, or just plain trolling.
Yeah, thank you Froboy because you, as a publisher, allowed GPG to release such a unfinished and broken game.
Participating in the forums is not a right. You have shown you cannot behave yourself.
Whats wrong with u People ? He get paid for do the Support Demigod /or faking it. He point with the Finger in any direction for the failure of the release from Demigod -its the people that pirate Demigod fault -its GpG´s game not our fault that Multiplayer sucks bla bla -You´re not our Costumer go back to Europe bla bla -Go to Atari bla bla But in the Booklet there it is printed black on white Responsible for Technica
The random demigod issue was already fixed internally, we thought that was an obvious given thing to fix so it wasn't listed.
Istari, I for am not saying I don't beleive the data. I'm just asking for explanation about the discrepancy of players in game and players online. The stats regularly show 85% of the people online not playing. You have to admit it's a bit weird, so maybe worth looking into.
There is no explanation. It is exactly what we have seen in every game. If you check on the Steam stats page, you will see the same thing with games their too where it will display
Then simply put there is something wrong with the stats. You either don't log off people as you should or something else. There is no way that 85% of the people have Demigod running and logged on to server, but still not joining or playing games. I mean, it's not like they can chat ingame... So how about for once paying attention to what people are obviously showing with facts. There is no way that the opengames.asp pages is showing correct numbers! Either
I mean the game is there for more than 2 month and pantheon is far from working as it should... Why do I still get games against AI and with AI ? Why is it so hard to fix this? Why do I get games with people of all skill levels and not with something equal to me? Why do I get games with people who have a 500 or 400 ping to me? @Stardock Is it possible to fix this problems?
1. If ther
With that logic Sins of a Solar Empire needed to be on Steam and yet it's one of the best selling PC games of recent memory. Stardock games won't be on Steam any more than Valve games are going to show up on Impulse.
Don't be riddiculous. World War 2 did change Germany and Europe forever.
Really? How did that work in the Balkans only a few years ago? Germany really nipped that ethnic cleansing in the bud right? No. It was, once again, the Americans having to take care of it. An American would ask what the benefit is of making guns illegal. By definition, people who shoot other people are breaking the law. So how does that help law abiding citizens? I don't own
Nope, have to disagree on that one. It should not be impossible to have a neutral debate about a political issue, no less. lol it is a wonder that your political system works at all if everybody that is emotionally involved is automatically excused from acting rationally.
Well, like you said, Germans don't really have guns and tend to just do what the government says. That, however, didn't work out so well for the Jews and others that the government had decided
The staged version of Demigod had working random demigods but the release is seeming to prevent random demigods (i.e. the random demigod option) from reliably launching the game. We are talking to GPG about this presently.
Given the grief the ESRB has given us over the 2 existing females, I think we all wish there had never been any female demigods. :)
The open games from that page is correct but the # of players online was not.
One assumes that LoL's greatness won't require constant advertising on the Demigod forums.
not to speak poorly of my prefered service (Impulse)... but: Look at the sheer # of connected users using the servers to download. It's a little unfair, it's like comparing some startup social networking site to MySpace/facebook... I'm glad it's fast. But if there was a million more users downloading from it would it be equally as fast?
Yes. It would still be this fast.
We send out the emails to every user who has Demigod in our database. We cannot control what ISPs or end users mail programs do with that email.
And actually I got my first taste of Stardock indifference to complaints (the forum speed issue) way before the homer simpson incident.
Indifference? Our IT team practically rewrote the backend of the forums this past month in respnose to user complaints. See http://forums.demigodthegame.com/354669
