sorry dude public beta closed way back in november. you poor noob. dont worry you'll get extras for preordering with the release but as for now your just gonna have to wait
delta leader
hey fuels cheif i know this is random but wheres the thread you talked about galciv keeping you sain on ur ship. it was funny but i dont know where it is now and id like to show it to a friend. anyway... heard so many things about the "update" i havent downloaded it yet. and i dont think i will.
i wonder if they will fix the "AI starts out with all techs anyone else has researched" thing and how the icons are the same for all races that appear after the start of the game.
this thing has been noted and will get fixed i hoped. as for enjoying the beta (remeber it is beta not the fun fun game) your gonna want to go to here C:\Documents and Settings\Daniel\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships and delete everything in it. its the ships you've saved in previous games. note thats not in the program files. its in my documents
you sure they were more advanced? check the diplomacy screen to see if they have any technologies up for trade u dont have. thats just a thing to check first. after that i dont know. try asking a diplomat of ambassador and so on.
if you wanna just sit back and relax till you get some offensive stuff honestly it might be easier and cheaper to go with offensive stuff in the first place. it takes time to research to the point where "hunkering down" is effective and you'd probably be alot better off just starting with offense techs. although im not sure what happenes when you encounter a ship with defense higher than the enemys offense but no way for it to attack... anyways. in s
yea. im currently in a game where i do alot of economics versus military. you have to remeber the two go together. i've boosted my income way up by er... assimilating minor races. more planets, more tax payers, more money. TIP build and upgrade as many farms as possible without them a planet cant hold more than 3000 people.
yea. you can do w/e you want with the game if you find the right XML. i might try finishing some uncompleted research descripitions later...
shoot the noob oh i love this game. yea... manipulating the game is fun. make you feel hacker like. i think u can also get rid of the other races techs too but then again i think the major races have safe gaurds againts it so the game wont crash if you do that
as far as equality goes i looked into the sub layers of the races in the config and saw all alien races automatically start out with stellar cartography and alot of other stuff the terran dont. the iconas start but there not the only ones.with the most stuff. look see at terrans Xeno Communications HyperDrive Xeno Engineering then at IConians Galactic Warfare HyperDrive Xeno Engineer
so it has begun with the whole gamma stuff... i dont really have time to play the game that much anyway even if i did get to do the gamma. make it good
yea you missed the realese date proably but nice. its also been talked about and i think even said by an avatar that you really arent killing the whole population. just the tax payers but lets not go into that. i liked the assimilate idea... but what about enslaving them?
if we ordered the CD how does that go with an eletronic DL. will we not be able to download it because we ordered the cd?im not gonna clog up the forums with a new question so this seems like a good place.
i need to work on my colors they never look as cool as everyone elses ships. is that the humans you were playing with?
im not sure this will clear it up for this specific case but some just talked about this here. https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=162&AID=97248
.... i swear if everyone debated like this all time... we'd have a country of apt scholars able to make you think the sky is green.
ya gotta keep in mind when it comes to "realism" these arent planets they people have spread out on over centuries. these are colonies which means the pop is gonna be all together in one spot. there not defending thousands of years of culuture and know every single cave on the planet so they can do a guerrila war. with that said home planets where all this is true should have some sorta extra diffuclty. does anyone know if there is any difference to in
stardock really knows how to test games. designers shold do this more often. im gonna feel left out when gamma releases. oh well just have to bug the diplomats and ambassodors (the only ones testing the gamma) about how its gonna be
yea im bugged by the desert orange planets in "abundant" setting. that could use some improvemeant. as for "improving strategic importance"t i think starbases do the job well enough.
try designing ur own "logo" and saving it in the file with the other logos stored somewhere amongst the game setup which i think is this C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Gfx\Race . or if i skipped over the part where u said u didnt have the game maybe someone else give this ago. i know for a fact the UI was made to be extreamly changleble and i've seen pictures of ships that look like A-wings (starwars ship for anyone whos been under a rock) proving this to be true. and when i say A
idk try the manual... umm or start this post over with a much more attention attracting name
hmmm boarding ships... sounds good to me be way to late now but maybe an exspansion or GalCiv III guess no matter how manny people you have creating ideas new ones are always gonna come when its really late. as for getting interested in Galciv i ran into after searching the stratgey first website after being linked to it by another strategy first game O.R.B. which i ran into after seeing it for 5 dollars in EB games. while the company that made it went
had the same problem dude. just a testing bug. heres a link to help you out when i asked about it https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=162&AID=96766#755458
first the dregin didnt invade the Torian using Galciv style. READ PEOPLE. they had to use stargates and the ships were proably alot smaller. if you did build troops then you'd have to take it out of the pop. or make them mechanic requireing techonolgy or else we'd be having this discussion on where do the troops come from. so no real reason to build them. kort had a point. its the tax payers fighting. ones that are elgible for draft (which
ugleb i was talking about in the sub folders of the galciv folder. they just came back when you do it in the game and thank you peace i had been looking in wrong galciv folder. i had been looking in the program files > stardock > ect...
