You guys are nuts. 1. Squiggoth gets the nod. The only thing going for the Ultralisk is that it's tough to kill because it has so many hit points. 2. Seige Tank win hands down. Seige Tank > All 3. Zealot. Expensive, but damn are they tough. 4. Dreadnaught for the same reason that Squiggoth wins. Goliath's suck against anything that isn't airborn. 5. Kerrigan wins. I'm sorry, but anyone who disputes this is nuts. 6. High Templar

Were the winners for this ever notified? If so do we get to find out who did win?
Kryo should be following up with folks on this.
Woo!
SMAC/AX Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri + Alien Crossfire Rather than copy paste Terraziel list plus a good chuck of console/handheld strategy games I'll just say that his list pretty much applies to me as well. Personal favourites would included Dark Reign, Imperium Galactica 2, Red Alert and Civilization 2.
Where is RA3 and DoW2?Besides,most of the RTS on the list are the RTS that i never heard before.
Dawn of War 2 is scheduled for Q1 2009. Red Alert 3 is scheduled for Q4 but it hasn't really drawn the same amount of attention yet. Wait till the beta opens and then there should be some coverage.
Plenty of RTS series have become very popular over the years on the PC; Age of Empires, Warcraft, Civilization, Galactic Civilizations, just to name a few
I'm sorry, but "Demetri Kouvalis" has some work to do.
Jagged Alliance 3 - F3 Games is bringing back the popular turn-based RTS with a modified Silent Storm engine.
And this one just boggles the mind. Does he not understand what the RT in RTS stands for? Does the same thing wi
Would have liked to see an expansion bundle that offers the cd's instead of having to purchase the separately. I want my boxes. :(
I'm running Sins on a 6 year old computer with a 1.7GHz P4, 768MB DDR-Ram and a Radeon 9600 Pro. There is some choppiness late game on larger maps, but otherwise it runs quite well on low settings. I can't see anything in your computer being a problem.
I like to name my big bad battleships after flowers. Woe unto he who comes across my fleet led by the awesome trio of Daffodil, Tulip and Daisy!
Hey, as long as the hope for a free t-shirt is still there, I'll be here!
Lets see some more pictures!
Hey, if I could find it again, I'd take another picture. I haven't seen a copy in town since I took my picture.
Not sure what's going on with some people reporting issues tonight. It's been pretty snappy for me whenever I've checked. If you are having issues with speed, check the times line in the footer and post it. It'll be something like: Server Load Time: 00:00:00.0000516 Page Render Time: 0:0:1:781 (1781ms)
Sat here waiting for 5 minutes. Stopped loading then tried again. It then showed: Server Load Time: 00:00:00.0000062 Page Render Time: 0:0:8:59
Anything yet, guys?
I'm starting to think it was all a ruse. They aren't really going to give anyone t-shirts. It's all just a trick to get us on here furiously tapping F5 for hours on end waiting, waiting, WAITING for something, anything about these mythical t-shirts to appear! The shirt is a lie...
Actually I am not sure about that. I've been playing in a pool league for over four years now and I find the two hard to seperate. Some of the people who play are so competitive it does detract from the game. These are not new players who can't relax or anything either. Some have won trips to Vegas to play competitively and thats how they run EVERY game they play. I'm all for playing by the rules, but if you don't play the game as if life depended on it , out comes the criticism and comme
Is there any news yet on what the shirts will look like? Should we be expecting big faction logos or do we get some neat cap ship art? :) Also, if we don't happen to win, how long till we can purchase them? :D
Competitive players: ruining gaming for over a decade!
There is a difference between being competitive and being a jerk. Please try not to confuse the two again.
Lock the teams next time. If you don't lock the teams, then the AI with it's sheer hatred of all things organic will always gang up on you.
AHHH... that makes more sense... I guess I should have kept better track as I moused over them. lolNow that that is understood....a few I can understand... however ... what was up with that one planet with like 10 ships?
The better the planet, the more ships there will be.
Ok Im going to leave a dumb question here, I know about the buttons and all that but it says I need 2 labs, and 1 point in I can't find that tech anywhere. Am I totally brain dead or what?
The 2 labs means that you need two military research buildings. Doesn't matter where they are as long as you have at least 2 in your empire. The tech that it wants you to research is probably the one to the immediate left of the logistics tech you have your mouse over.
It's on the bottom bar. Just to the left of the picture that shows the currently selected unit/faction symbol is two buttons. The bottom one allows you to ping a planet. The top one is the one you are looking for. It toggles auto-placing of structures on and off.
On another note, what do you mean 1Spartan about "He is very adamant about the DRM thing and Steam is on the side of the divide philosophy wise. " ??? Steam is a much better system to fight piracy than everything else, because:1. Doesn't get in the way of legit users (no crap about "CD key in use)2. Allows legit users simplified updating without having to worry about updating their no-cd cracks
IIRC it's not the type of DRM that Steam uses that is in question here, it's t
59,99 is basically the normal price of a new game, be it on 360/ps3 or PC. Some of the more expensive, regular edition console games can cost 69,99 and grossly content limited special editions will cost us 79,99(Im looking at you, need for speed carbon: black edition). At least we started paying US price for mega expensive bundles now(some, not most). A Psp game here costs between 39,99 and 49,99 and DS games vary from 25,99 to 39,99.
If you are still paying $60 for you
Are there still slots open for random winners? I have a big idea that I'm working on here. ;) EDIT: Here we go! It didn't come out great thanks to the shiny boxes which obscures the names on a few, but I think it still holds up. The one on top is the copy I bought last weekend. EB was the only store in town that had it in stock and they only had the one. The other Sins box you see there is a collectors edition that they got in yesterday.
It seems a lot of stores have been ordering small quantities, selling out quickly, then continuing to only order small quantities. They expect strategy games to sell poorly, and don't bother changing their order quantities when they're proven wrong... and the game keeps selling out. This issue seems to be particularly bad in Canada. So if you want a retail copy, the best recommendation would be to find out *when* they're getting it in, and be there when it does.
The EB Ga
