I like the archer dude... he's not so good at the start but after getting some good quipment he can certainly do a lot of damaga, especialy if he's with another guy who can watch his back and stun the enemy if needed.

I've had good performace as well, but has anyone else noticed that every once in awhile late in game everything seems to just stop for a few seconds... the animations and everything are still working, everything seems smooth but all the enemies just sit there and so do you, seems kinda like lag but I'm hosting the game and playing against AI. Specs: Intel Q6600 4GB Ram HD4850(1GB ram) XP 32bit

I don't want to post much about the gameplay in beta one, but I'll give *some* of my first impressions. Fun... haha, even playing against bots. There were a few texture glitches with the options where they would turn black, I'll take a screenshot next time because this might be more of the type of issue to report in beta one. It's very hard to cancel attacking and get my unit away, if I click to move away he starts then stops and starts shotting again...

I haven't had any crashes or problems either, running on all max settings(except for resolution) with Intel Quad Q6600 4GB Ram HD4850 (1GB) XP 32bit(so really only 3.5gb ram) ... gonna upgrade real soon to 64bit.

from the forums if you click on the "Download" link you goto http://www.demigodthegame.com/download.asp which gives a 404, it should be http://www.demigodthegame.com/downloads.asp instead, i didn't see this on any of the other pages.

Ohh! Good article... I just started a new job and I'm working from home... it is very different then Im used to and I'm trying very hard not to get distracted easily(Haha, like reading JoeUser right now...). I got a new desk and chair and that helped a lot, I think I need to get some good noise blocking headphones if any of my room mates come home when I'm still working so they don't distract me.

I think Direct2Drive is a pretty big player in it... there was/is also File Planet's subscriptions which can sometimes get you free games, it was one of the earlier sites I saw doing something like this(I think this turned into Direct2Drive?)... Mobile games have a pretty good way of distribution, send a text and get a download, not the same catagory but it's pretty neat. I also saw a site that has downloadable game rentals, or you can get them shipped, I think for a more casual

I used to use deezer when it was blogmusik and it was much better than, they didn't limit playing any songs but they probably had huge legal problems... now I just use last.fm or iTunes. Everyone should check out last.fm if they haven't yet!

I think PC gaming has the huge advantage of being able to include mods and user created content a lot more easily. Take GalCiv2 for example, the custom ships and mods that you can download are all great. One of my favorite games, Morrowind, has tons and tons of mods that you don't get to use on the console versions. What is dissapointing though is the requirements on newer games is just insane, I wish I could say the same about Oblivion but I haven't been able to try out the mods beca
