Hey thanks... I have been working on the plote quite a bit, but I must admit it is not my number one priority... whily I do want to create a memorable game I mostly want to make a GAME... as in a complete game. Right now its pretty fun cause I've got all the md2s loaded in how I want and you can control the guy and make him walk around a "level"... still have lots of stuff to go but it is slowly progressing. Ive been very buisy with work latly and I'
Neato... ... but I missed my Cultural Terror Star... it made so much sense to me... rather than those planets getting blow up they surrenderd... its the smart thing to do! Mabey as a feature planets should be given the option to surrender before being blow up. and then the play can choose the acept the surrender or not
Haha, the good old days of Stellar Frontier! We set up a mod of a realistic verson of SOL... had the planets going in orbit and everything... of course, like you said we couldn't go fast enough... so we had to find a new way of travel... We figured out a way to get slingshotted from a stars gravity and go speeds well over 1000c, it was pretty intense(I think I still have the speed record <img src="http://images.stardock.com/JU/smiles/Tongue
Ohhh, the music thing was my fault... I didn't turn on my spekaers till I got in the game and I guess I forgot my gamecube was on and hooked up to my sound-in... I guess I got confused about the music being that in the game or something... haha. Yea, I forgot, the ability to stop production of hips would definatly be nice.
I don't remember which pahse I was supposed to give this type of bug report, but I figure it can't hurt to post them anyways... - On the difficulty selection scrolling through you can goto cakewalk to crippeling, but not crippeling to cakewalk. - If military spending is set to 0% when you hit build the pop-up dialogue says -1 yearss to build and the other areas is shows a very large number(probably max int) probably a divide by 0. - My game ended
Awesome, I already had a little bit written down but I went back today and filled in a few blanks. This is only the second "design document" I ever wrote so I just throw words on a page, haha. Thanks for the input!
Ok, well I have my new game planned out and have started the long process of actualy making it. Part of the fun is of course showing people your progress and getting feedback always helps. I guess I will start by explaning what the game is going to be. My plan is to make a side scrolling RPG shooter. I have no clue how the gameplay is going to turn out b
Sorry for the late reply, I don't know if anyone will see this, but on the chance that someone might, I might as well post something. Sounds good to me... but I'm a bit confused about the subscription idea. It seems more like all we are doing is buying tokens to buy games, why is there a 2 year limit on spending these tokens. What happens after the two years to unspent tokens? I'm guessing its just a way to keep the MMO subscription
Wow, looks great! I admit I havn't come to this site in awhile, but I'm seeing more reasons to come back more often.
Its always a party in stardock IRC!!!
Hi... my name is Jonas.
I have bee a bit hesitant to send any errors in becasue I'm running XP 64bit and I have no clue if you want any smart exception error logs or anything at all from me. The game runs very smoothly but it does still crash ocasionaly... it definatly looks great. Microsoft just released the retail verson of 64bit... but I don't have that yet, still using 64bit beta rc2. So do you want me to send in crash reports and other issues that come up related non
Hey, alot of you are getting caps with your FPS due to vsync it looks like. I disabled it in my ATI control panel and got much highet FPS which shows what the your comp can really do. I'm using socket 754... its also the 3400+ with 1mb l2 cache... so I'm sure that helps as well. I't would be interesting if I installed 32bit XP on my comp and see how much a difference that might be making... I'm a bit busy latly so I don't know if I will have time
Haha... disabled vsync... In main menu I get 450 FPS... it spiked at 800 for about a second. Zooming out full at star of game I got 175... then zomming into nothing I got 180 Ship yard I got 170-190, stabalizing at 190. I'm wondering if running 64bit windows is giving me a huge advantage here. Ohh yea, running at: DisplayWidth=1024 DisplayHeight=768 ColorDepth=32
Here we go... I think I must have vsync on somewhere, I will have to check that out... I got constant 85 FPS everywhere... only time it when below was when I first loaded into a new menu and it went to maby 25(lowest menu) in the ship yard. Comp specs: AMD 3400+ 64bit Windows XP 64bit... it works fine 786mb RAM ATi 9600 PRO WD SATA 7200RPM HD...
ABLE> Haha, I got that one as well I only wore it a few times and every time I have I have gotten weird looks... haha
y the final verson. This isn't offical or anything, but I'm pretty sure it is correct.
I was certinly surprised! I think it looks great! Just wow!
med to be an RTS but was nothing like it... I'll just have to wait and see it I guess
ause its Earth's "first" big ship to reach out and explore the stars.... but I guess thats not the plot in galciv2... meh

/wave I'm just a big fan of galciv
of mine who would probably buy it b/c of that.
n weapons, defences, and technologys... Probably all way to complex, and would suck alot of development out of the actual game... but it would be a very neat integration.
