The intention was not to say the diplomacy is just a crap because I can see the added factors in the update but that those factors are too in favour of negative relations from my experience. The game is making it hard to get allies. GC2 had relations seeming much more natural and with slower jumps and they did not have the added monster threat..The A.I would be cautious about being at war with most the map.A.I Empire factions like Umber are reckless and basically DOW most fac

After playing a fair few games the world still seems to be world at war with fantasy kingdoms..We have new diplomacy stats but relations just downgrade with most factions anyway due to too many negative points compared to good ones in the diplomacy panel. Factions who are far away do not head to neutral like mentioned in the notes.

New beans from Brad. "This time there's somewhat more sophistication with concepts like accuracy, evasion, rate of fire, sub light speed, and fleet formations. All stuff we'll get into as we go forward. But the effect is that players will tend to focus on particular strengths and when at war you'll want to look at what strategies they're employing in their ships and fleets" Many Bothans died to bring us this information.

Not much new apart from a new race that looks like a green Batarian and a new faction called the Iridium Corp that sounds like a sophisticated Korx. The designer has no experience and is scared about messing up which worries me as it looks like they played it safe because the galaxy screenshot looks just like GC2 in hexes. The mechanics seem the same. Nothing about space combat other than Hexes balance it. Maybe they are going for the CIV5 style with some units have 2 hex range etc

Is this by design or just bad A.I? I am always seeing lone wolf leaders roaming around the map with no army and getting beat up by creeps.I presume its to get level ups and goodie huts but I feel it really hurts immersion and weakens possible A.I attacking forces because they are recovering back at the capital rather than taking cities. A king would not go out alone.

A good A.I's job is too roleplay the theme and add enough threat to make good game stories.I think no matter how much dev time is spent on A.I people are gonna moan.FE issues was the A.I empires threat was non existent until a few patches back.

We enslave and eat animals that are processed in death camps dailly..Drengins did the same to the Torians. The whole good and evil thing is a throwback from the simplistic starswars era and we now live in the game of thrones era.

Sounds promising.I like that single player is not being compromised in both events and aliens stats to make way for bland multiplayer balance.I also like the idea of diplomacy having meaning. I hope the combat is a lot better in both player involvement and the weapons tech has an actual meaning rather than the simple and dull system in GC2.Weapons should be like cool spells with different effects that mater in combat.
