People are always nice when you give them money.

Heh.Bad joke.
In the beta they all seem very similar.
The SOTS expansion promises to add a lot more depth to the core game.I will see what that brings and might give it another try.
You can pause and issue orders but they are not listed until you unpause it again.I have read on another forum a post by the devs saying that the game is really about operational movement,it's about moving fleets, etc around and not really about the tactical side of things. The game looks and plays great as it stands, but I feel many will expect more tactical involvement from the battles.
It's not listed on the options keyboard controls. The pause on the keyboard itself does work and you can issue order, but it doesn't show the ships heading or orders until you unpause again.
After playing around with the game for a few days I've come to the conclusion the battles are the weakest area of the game. The game is all about building huge fleets but the devs seems to have it back to front, they force micromanagment of single ships but don't allow the game to pause so you can issue them orders. In the large scale battles you feel like a bystander with no control, ordering around single ships is irelavent in a 100+ ship battle..I feel the devs should include fleet formations, tac
I would just like add my support for a bigger tech tree, the one in the beta is far too small for a wannabe 4X.In epic games you will finish all the research early in the game. Not good.
I don't want to see a cap,the economy just needs tweaking a bit.I can agree with the lack of battle tactics in the game, although the scale is too big for individual ship micromanagement.I would like to see tactical options at the fleet level,at the moment the game plays itself in battle..
What button? There is no pause in the controls layout.
I might add I mean a pause when you can also issue orders like in the Totalwar series.
To my horror there seems to be no pause in the game. The battles are over so fast it feels like you have no real control over them,ie the game plays itself.I would like a pause option in singleplayer like all other RTT game have please.
Weapons sounds are generally poor in all space RTS games, apart from Starwars licenced games.
The lane system is here to stay.I prefer strategic choke points like most 4X games have got,you get the monster fleet on fleet battles this way.
Battles should be epic and take time, smaller ships should not be taken out with one shot,it makes them pointless cannonfodder,Brads being watching the battle simulater in GC2 for too long.I prefer slower paced RTS games like Totalwar,Nexus, etc, these games require strategy and not just who can click the fastest. Pirates offer no challenge and are destroyed quickly in my test games.I would like to see cloaking stealth pirates that only target trade ships, pirates that can actually hurt you
I have outgrown clickfests.
1.SINS 2.CRYSIS 3.HALFLIFE EPISODE 3 These are the only 3 future games I look foward to playing at this time.I'm sure more will pop up as the year passes. I'm not convinced about Spore yet.
A fourth tech tree, another race maybe?
It's a sandbox game so the player makes most of the story.
The star system display is in 2D then?
I love the ship designs.I can't wait to see how the game plays.
Post the info from the article.
Don't fall for the Microsoft Vista marketing hype.DX9 will be fine.
It is a TEC Frigate after all.
I like the idea of playing the Humans in this game, they sound cool for a change.I like the graphics style but all the ships seem to be at the same 2d level.
