There are 3 classes fighters, frigates and capital ships according to the interviews I have read.

Holy shit after playing the SC beta because of all the hype I keep reading here I must say this game has got bomb/flop written all over it,even the eye candy can't save it. Does anybody actually like the beta?
Nexus was a great RTT game in a world of clickfesters who didn't understand how to play it.The game needed a good tutorial. The graphics in Nexus still look as good as anything out there.
I sure hope the sounds improve. The sounds in that trailer seem to have that generic WW2 explosion like CIV2 and other games used years ago..
Looks epic.
What a let down.Old news.
Your missing the point about realism, it is perceived realism like you get on BSG,Star trek,Starwars ect.I would class the GalCiv games as Spaceballs,Futurama, with all the cheese the game has.Games like MOO,SpaceEmpires try to model more mature perceived realism and immersion.
Nasty review from IGN. WWW Link
I agree with the point that there is far too much cheese in GC.There needs to be more explanation about the GC universe.I mean why does in take longer to travel in Yor space? Many things take away my immersion in the game. The unfunny tech jokes needs removing, and so does the silly diplomatic messages.
ImperiumGalactica 1/2 were the first space RT4X games.
All the games released these days have negative moaners spamming the game forums.
No surrender option at last.
I wish they got rid of these game ruining surrenders,or at least made it an option.
There is not enough detail about the game for me to pre-order,but I'm very interested.I think the devs should copy these kind of gameplay examples if they want higher pre-orders. https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx?AID=137208
To be honest, it's a gimmick and not really needed.
Are the tactical battles going to have the pacing and depth of a game like Nexus: The Jupiter Incident an RTT game, like Totalwar in space?
A campaign hasn't been decided upon yet. The resources may go into the sandbox game instead. I think that would be a very wise choice.
I watched all the tutorials and the eye candy seems to be lacking in quality and personality, not sure the gameplay is all that either.Overhyped I feel. Sins will be better.
BOTF was a very good 4X game in my view, and got good press reviews at the time.
Is there still time to change the game to a turn-based campaign mode with real time battles, ala the Totalwar games? Having a real time campaign like 'Empires at war' tried is a bad idea.
All 12 are playable. Just not all at once. Why not? The more races in one epic game the better.
You can't simulate the BSG setting in this game engine. You could only model the ships.
I can't wait for this puppy. The various factions, religion and crusades in MTW make it a much more interesting setting than Rome. The graphics are amazing in the demo.
Pinko your free to leave the U.K at any time.May I recommend NorthKorea.
The trend in history is for all the big complex things to fail. This trend will never stop.
